This review is from: Archgon USB 2.0 Aluminum Ultra Slim DVD Burner Model MD-8102S-U2DVDRW
Pros: If computer BIOS is set properly this device can work for CD-R/W and for USB CD booting (like for booting a recovery environment for complete restoration of a disk drive and any of its partitions).
Cons: The device definitely needs more power than one USB2.0 computer port provides, and it comes with a Y cable to get more power from another USB port. This uses too many ports for power needs, it really needs it own separate power supply. It is not DVD compatible. I did find it could deliver CD video without hitching, but not the audio portion without hitching - perhaps USB2.0 is too slow for that. But this is a USB2.0 device. So I didn't find it usable for CD movies.
Other Thoughts: I found this product needs a powered USB2.0, not USB3.0, hub and not split across two different computer USB ports. I didn't find it usable for CD movies, the video portion is OK but the audio portion hitches a lot. This is not a Blu-Ray device so it also doesn't work with that media. I recommend it for normal CD-R/W and USB2-CD boot purposes only.
