4 out of 5 eggsgreat buy for small rooms

Pros: Excellent sound for the price. Good for close surround sound but not high end by any means. Perfect for gaming and regular tv use.

Cons: The remote control is very annoying because it has to be lined up with the censor almost perfect to work I have found that holding the remote upside down while aimed at the censor works best. The setting on the surround sound work in 5.1 but it's not self explanatory. I had to scroll through all of the settings to see how it would work. The cables are only auxiliary for the speakers themselves so if you are looking to transfer the speakers to a new reciever you will have to split wires or have auxiliary plugs for the speakers. The wires are short too. Don't expect putting this in a large or medium sized room. The cables will not reach.

Other Thoughts: As far as set up goes it sucks I gave it 4 because for my setup this is perfect. I would like to know who thought the cable for rear speakers was long enough for full surround sound. They obviously only thought it would be for computer use. The quality is very good though. I am pleased with it overall and use it to play Xbox and watch tv. I would recommend this but be aware it's conditional for use.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good value

Pros: Nicely packaged. Works well. Remote is a great deal. Able to set up each speakers gain. Switches between 5.1 and 2.1

Cons: Poor dynamic range. 600 watts at full volume and I'm still struggling to hear it during low level times. Cables on speakers are built in and a little bit short.

Other Thoughts: Card playing files in simply in order seemingly by file name, the nice thing it remembers the last file played if the card isn't removed. Sub woofer has a nice level normally besides being independently adjustable. Sub woofer doesn't flare up or fade out but is there when it's supposed to be.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat for movies but...

Pros: - Great for USB inputs and SD cards inputs.
- Also great for movies when playing on a system that has 5.1 outputs.
- Worth the present selling price of less than 100 dollars.
- Great sound for the economical price.

Cons: - Certainly not worth over 200 dollars as in the list price.
- Speaker grills are very cheap looking and made of plastic.
- Does not give the Watts RMS in the specs.
- The manual is very short and could be more informative.

Other Thoughts: DO NOT buy this system if you think you will get subwoofer plus four speaker output for music (such as music loaded on Windows media player or I-Tunes). I had no problem with my last 4.1 system getting four speaker output even when not having a pro-logic or other synthesized sound source, but this system will only play out of the front two speakers and the subwoofer even though I have five speaker input from my computer sound card--and then only when I set it to 5.1 plus pro-logic. (And yes, my speakers are all connected correctly and the sound card will play test sounds out of all five speakers and the subwoofer. I can also set quadrophonic on my sound card speaker setup but without quad results from this speaker system.)

5 out of 5 eggsSpeakers! 5.1 for a small room

Pros: They process 5.1 accurately (tested with 'Saving Private Ryan') and sound great.
Auxillary input a plus, but it is 2.1 only.
Remote control adjustment of channel output

Cons: Short wires. Should have been noted in specs (length) although reviews did mention this.
No digital input (this is appearant in specs).

I gave it 5 eggs instead of 4 even though the wire length for the front and center channel is way too short. The surround channel speaker wire are short as well, but better length.

Other Thoughts: These are great for average use. I have run my cable box output through them (2.1 channel) and it is a vast improvement over stock LCD speakers. 5.1 sounds good, though it is running from Media PC as there are no digital inputs for Blueray. I recomend them for PC, or someone using an external sound card with optical input and 5.1 passthrough for thier blueray

4 out of 5 eggsGreat mid-range system

Pros: - Unbeatable price for a 600-watt system
- No need for a receiver or physical disc player
- Very clear sound
- Easy setup
- USB and SD card inputs right on the subwoofer

Cons: - Could be a little louder at max volume
- You have to screw the hangars for the speakers in yourself

Other Thoughts: Overall my complaints for this system are very minor and it's virtually perfect for my needs. I live in a townhouse and my TV/living room is mid-sized. I don't really have to worry about neighbors hearing the audio, so sometimes it's nice to crank up the music. As I said, the max volume could be a little louder, but as it stands, you wouldn't want to listen to the system at max for extended periods of time, either. Probably more than loud enough for most.

The plastic hooks for hanging speakers on the walls come separated with a bunch of fairly tiny screws. From my perspective it seems as though the manufacturer should have just had these permanently attached to the back of the speakers, as they don't extend more than a couple centimeters beyond the backs of the speakers once attached, anyway. But again, this is something very minor and a fifteen-minute fix at most.

The bottom line is that this is a near-flawless system for anyone already ahead of the curve in the digital media era. Receivers and physical media players are unnecessary when you stream nearly everything or connect it all to your wifi network. In that sense, having your display/control panel on the subwoofer itself is a godsend and a huge money saver. Finding a comparable system at Walmart or anywhere else will cost you at least twice as much.

I highly recommend this system to anyone who doesn't have a giant budget or doesn't see the need to spend a ton on an entertainment system. And if you're worried about dealing with The Deep Discount, don't be. They shipped fast and free, and I received the product in perfect condition, in the same amount of time I would have received it from Newegg.

4 out of 5 eggsNice for the price

Pros: Remote controlled , small size, Clear sounding speakers adjusting the balance of speakers was easy with the remote.

Cons: Not very loud but very good for a small bedroom , Won't disturb neighbors or kids since there isn't the typical rumble you get with some sub woofers . Would have gotten 5 stars if a little louder. :-)
