This super sharp VG-10 Japanese stainless steel knife is clad with 2 layers of low carbon steel on each side. This design could increase toughness, improve stain resistance, and prolong knife life. The prefect weight balanced full length handle are made of TPR which is durable, non-slip, easy to clean, waterproof, bacteria-resist, comfortable, and beautiful. Every Zhen Premium knife comes with its own hand crafted gift box or storage box. DO NOT chop bone or use knife on hard surface like glass cutting board, tile, and granite. Hand-wash your blades with gentle dish soap, rinse clean and towel dry immediately to prevent rust (no dish washer). Hone your blades with a steel or ceramic rod weekly to keep it sharp. Recommend to sharpen your blades with a whetstone at an angle of 15 - 20 degrees. 100% satisfaction guarantee.
A bargain...after a resharpen
Pros: The least expensive VG-10 knives on the market.
Cons: Not so sharp out of the box.
Other Thoughts: I bought the Zhen 4" & 3.5" VG-10 Fruit carving knives initially to check out the quality of the steel before possibly ordering some of Zhen's wooden handled models. For a long time I've been looking for some paring length knives to go with some Japanese knives I bought at Tsubaya (Tokyo) back in the 90's. Alas, anyone who has sought these out is usually stunned by the US prices which can run $200+ for a paring knife. This is frustrating for people that want to use the superior VG-10 steel knives as everyday cooking tools but not spend thousands on a knife set. Zhen appears to have recognized this market and is offering affordable Chinese made knives with high quality Japanese steel. The result is a fantastic bargain(after resharpening) if you are looking for a superior cooking "tool" that won't break the bank.

Comfortable handle and balance.
Light weight with a very sharp tip.
