Pros: The least expensive VG-10 knives on the market.
Cons: Not so sharp out of the box.
Other Thoughts: I bought the Zhen 4" & 3.5" VG-10 Fruit carving knives initially to check out the quality of the steel before possibly ordering some of Zhen's wooden handled models. For a long time I've been looking for some paring length knives to go with some Japanese knives I bought at Tsubaya (Tokyo) back in the 90's. Alas, anyone who has sought these out is usually stunned by the US prices which can run $200+ for a paring knife. This is frustrating for people that want to use the superior VG-10 steel knives as everyday cooking tools but not spend thousands on a knife set. Zhen appears to have recognized this market and is offering affordable Chinese made knives with high quality Japanese steel. The result is a fantastic bargain(after resharpening) if you are looking for a superior cooking "tool" that won't break the bank.
