5 out of 5 eggsSimple to install

Pros: Installed as a range extender. Extremely easy to move from location to location to use or demonstrate. Finds the wireless access points, you pick the one you want, enter the password if any, done. Allows for plug in of a switch so you can add whatever else you want.

Cons: Maybe instructions could be more extensive for those people who must know the how & why.

Other Thoughts: The harder you think about what you're doing, the more difficult the setup will be. The existing network will have a name and probably a password. If you know those, you can setup this device as a range extender. The extender is a new access point so it will have a name and a password too. They can be the same, but don't have to be. Setup is really as simple as portrayed on line. After setup, you can go to the STATUS window and get the assigned IP address, MAC and other details. Use your browser to look at or configure from a browser interface.

1 out of 5 eggsalmond BAD Router

Pros: its black

Cons: I had this router for over a year. I saw this and was thinking wow it looks good and it has a touch screen.
I had this router for over a year and I have to say what a pain. This has to be the worst product ever. Evertimer the power is lost the router will never re connect. I spend hours doing hard resets and re connect. I already returned one unit but they all do this. This is the worst thing I have ever got. I hate this so much. I wish I never bought it and I would feel wrong selling this unit but never want someone else would go through what I went through. I am using this a extender. Almond is so bad it keep renaming the SID with the word ALMOND. Wow are these Almond people stupid? Who would rename a extender so now the extender by default will not work. People just stay away from this unit. Buy a real router. Almond people just need to go out of business. I never put reviews but after a hour today trying to get this *** back working I got so mad.

Other Thoughts: don't waste your money or better yet years of your life.
You will be on tech support from the time you get this unit until the time you return it. People that give this a review do not use it a long time. When I got this the first week I was happy. It was cool. It had a beta weather app that never updates. Beta for over a year. It has a touch screen that needed a pen :) wow a pen.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat, but slow

Pros: Extremely easy to set up.

Cons: Because it is single band it is not able to maintain WiFi speed over expanded coverage. Speed Tests showed WiFi speeds of ½ those of Time Warner Cable cable modem speeds. Returned with no problem, except for restocking fee.

5 out of 5 eggsQuick, Easy, Reliable

Pros: Dummy-proof set up, built in clock

Cons: Only average range

Other Thoughts: Just what i needed. Quick and easy to set up and any device connects easily including wireless printers. Range not great, but it is fine for what it is needed for.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy as pie...

Pros: EASY to setup! I know a lot about computers and networking, but wanted a range extender that would be easy to setup.... this was up and running in a couple minutes. Great boost to my wifi, the entire house now has a great signal.

Cons: None that I could find so far.

Other Thoughts: Not computer savvy.. this is the usint for you! The easiest range extender I have setup so far, literally only took a minute or two and I was up and running, the visual interface requires NO computer knowledge to operate.

4 out of 5 eggsGood so far...

Pros: Compact, unobtrusive, and doesn't require a computer to configure.

Cons: Took a bit to get it up and running, had to figure out how to get the software to update because it wasn't connecting to my existing wireless network as a range extender. Had to add it as a client to my wired network in order to accomplish that.

The two easy to find options are range extender and wireless router, but I wanted to set it up as an access point; for some reason, they put the AP configuration on the very last screen which was counterintuitive. The touch screen workflow and UI could definitely use a lot of work.

Other Thoughts: Screen shuts off when not in use, which is good.

5 out of 5 eggsalmond simplified routing

Pros: agreed with those who rated this device 5 stars. easiest router to setup I've ever worked with and a very well designed interface.

Cons: the only issue I have so far is the lack of a well documented user or tech manual. unit was pretty barebones and the small brochure sent mirrors the on screen display step by step.
I really haven't seen a specific discussion at length on what the Ethernet network port is supposed to accomplish.

Other Thoughts: such a new product I guess it needs a bit or maturity to really shine... works well with all that we have going on out of the box.

5 out of 5 eggsBrilliant

Pros: -Easy setup as range extender
-Easy set up as router
-Simple Plug-N-Play for the most part
-Fun to play with

Cons: No power off switch but when you unplug and plug it back in, it leaves off exactly how you left it. So nothing too bad.

Other Thoughts: I use this thing at work to create my own internet router using their internet jacks. Probably not supposed to do this but whatever. They should've told me the wireless password. This tool makes it easy to take things into your own hands.
