"A wireless router for the post-PC era" - Dong Ngo, CNet

"Almond brings touchscreens to routers" - Andrew Cunningham, Ars Technica

"Networking for the iPhone Generation" - GearPatrol

Revolutionary Touch Screen Router

Almond is a revolutionary device that brings touch to Wireless Routers for the first time in history.

For the first time users can perform the setup & maintenance of the router all from its highly intuitive touch screen.

You can avoid the cumbersome PC/Mac based setup that is common with other routers.

Its dual purpose means you can use it either as a Wireless Router or a Range Extender

Range Extender

If you already have an existing router but are not happy with its range, use Almond as a Range extender.

It is compatible with any existing 802.11 router (ex: Netgear, Linksys, Cisco, Belkin, Dlink, Asus, Verizon, AT&T, etc..)

Wireless N Router

Almond can also be used as a full featured Wireless router with speeds upto 300Mbps.

Just connect it to your Cable/DSL/Fiber modem and follow the intuitive instructions on the touch screen to set it up

Security

Securifi takes Security very seriously. Unlike other routers, Almond is fully secure out of the Box.

Also, each Almond has a random name (SSID) and password that is set at the factory. You can always change the factory settings through the intuitive touch screen

Almond's SSID by default has the 'nomap' tag that prevents your router from being recorder in Google's Location Tracking Database

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: dead simple to set up. Works great!

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I'm only using the Range Extender function and it works great. If/when my regular router dies I will buy another one and use it as the primary router.

5 out of 5 eggsSecurifi Almond Router/Extender

Pros: Worked right out of the box as far as wired connections from two computers and starting the wireless part was simple also. Getting the printer to work on one of the computers required a phone call to Securifi's support which was excellent.

Cons: only two wired ports and the printer had to be set up differently than with my other router.

Other Thoughts: While this router suits my needs just fine I think the number of wired ports could limit its sales.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing works GREAT

Pros: Easy setup, looks good, excellent extension of network range and signal strength. Tech support is excellent.

Cons: Extended network by default has ".almond" attached to its name, so it appears as a second wifi network. Tech support explained how I could change the name so I was back to just my main network. It's simple to do but not obvious. Also, documentation (what little is needed) is a bit lacking.

Other Thoughts: This beats my Apple Express any day. Its actually easier to set up, and works with any router-- not just apple. Price is cheaper too!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product to extend WiFi range

Pros: Originally read about this product in David Pogue's New York Times column, and recommended it to my brother who has major issues with WiFi connectivity in his large home. My brother loved it so I purchased one fur my home in Costa Rica and it works like a champ.

Touch-screen interface is super-easy to use with no need to connect Ethernet cords to a desktop or laptop. My grandmother could do this - it is that simple.

Great price point for value ratio!

Cons: None to speak of really except that if you are using this product as your primary WiFi router, there are are other manufacturer models that offer more advanced networking standards. As a range extender, however, this product is hard to beat.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: It is VERY easy to set up as and provided a significant boost in my house to the 2nd level where my signal had been poor as compared to the level where the router is situated.

Cons: Did not succeed in using it as a double extender to reach the distance I needed to the 3rd level.

4 out of 5 eggsPogue was right

Pros: Couldn't be easier to set up - I use it as an extender.

Cons: Not a big deal for me, but as indicated by others it doesn't seem to support dual band.

Other Thoughts: Pretty consistent with David Pogue's review in NYT technology section a while ago.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I purchased the almond wireless router, because it stated it was easy to install. I am a computer idiot which is why I purchased it. I read the reviews of other wireless routers and all had problems with disk and instructions. I knew if I bought them I surely would not be able to get it to work. The almond even though a little bit more expensive, was well worth it. My brother actually hooked it up for me. We are very pleased with it. I would recommend this product to all my friends. Thanks for such a fine product.

Cons: The only thing I can mention is that we had to call our ISP which should be something that might be included in the instructions (because we only had one computer initially registered with them this was not Almonds fault). We tried to connect but could't do it until we contacted our ISP.

Other Thoughts: Purchase this product you won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsSecurifi Almond

Pros: Very easy to set up using the touch screen. I'm using it as an extender primarily to boost the signal strength to my home theater wifi connected equipment. (Sony WIFI receiver, Roku, Wii, Bluray player and HTPC) By positioning the Almond in the room with the home theater equipment, it increased the signal strength from 60% to 100% on all the equipment, allowing uninterrupted streaming of movies and music. Plus - it looks cool!

Cons: Renames the network with a .Almond extension. Had to reset all the home theater equipment to recognize the new network name. The FAQs said the new software download would fix this, but it didn't.

Other Thoughts: What a great idea - so far it's working flawlessly.

3 out of 5 eggsAlmond Router-RangeExtender

Pros: WHen connected as a range extender it functions as it was advertised.

Cons: When the main router resets the IP addresses the Almond will not reconnect, it must be reconfigered as an original installation in order for it to obtain the new IP address.
