The SDHC card, already a market leader in the digital camera marketplace, preserves photographic integrity and raises the memory performance bar by guaranteeing minimum — more important than maximum — performance rates. This large capacity is essential for use with a variety of digital content types — especially with high-quality video.

In addition, many photo printers, card readers, video cameras and other devices are also equipped for SDHC guaranteed transfer rates, demonstrating the trend toward SDHC memory card leadership.

SDHC-enabled products accommodate SDHC memory cards and are backward compatible with SD memory cards. Data on SDHC cards is protected even if inserted in an incompatible device. SDHC cards also work in standard SD slots with a firmware upgrade.

  • newegg 8GB Capacity A huge 8GB capacity allows more music, video or data files to be stored in a single flash drive – namely about 2000 music files (4mins, 128Kbps, MP3 format) or 2100 image files (8MP, JPEG format, about 3.9MB per file).
  • newegg SDHC Class 4 The SD High-Capacity (SDHC) card provides more removable storage power than ever before, and the Class 4 transfer data of at least 4MB per second.

Pros: Got this for my then new HP Laptop, for a disk cache boost. Really works! Now the price is even cheaper. Use these instead of CD's!
Been using it for 1.5 years no problems!

5 out of 5 eggsGood buy

Pros: Very good buy for a 8 gig card

Cons: I thought I just saw a class 6 card on the 48 hour sale for 50 cents cheaper after I bought 5 of these. I am not sure it was even an 8 gig though I just saw class 6 as I flipped the page, oh well

Other Thoughts: A truly good buy

5 out of 5 eggsyou need an sdhc card reader

Pros: -

Cons: -

Other Thoughts: for the person who said the card didn't read, the problem is because your card reader only works with regular SD cards up to 2gb, and is not compatible with SDHC (high capacity) flash memory cards. You need to make sure your card reader, whether it's internal or usb or whatever, will read/write SDHC cards. It is not a problem with the card itself. You will also find sdhc cards will not work in older cameras, it is because those cameras came out before SDHC was defined and do not support them.

4 out of 5 eggsSLOW but High capacity and cheap

Pros: It is what it is, cheap, high capacity SD card. If you need high capacity and speed its not an issue, its great if you get it at the right price.

Cons: Speed is overrated on this card. This thing is somewhere between 1.5 and 2.0 speed SD card. Compared to 2 other SD cards that were rated at 4.0 and this one doesn't even compare. If it were rated at 2.0 then it would receive a full 5 egg rating.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a digital photo frame so speed was not a concern. For the price, get 2 for 1 over other similar SD cards where capacity is all that matters.

Would not use this in a camera or other device where speed is a factor.

4 out of 5 eggsWhat i think...

Pros: SDHC
8GB
Very Small

Cons: - I was going to buy this a little while ago when is was $14.99, and the price just shot up. I don't really like the fact that they change prices practically every other day.
- The Shipping did not take long but i tried to track it and it NEVER had anything new until i got it.

Other Thoughts: Would have rather gotten a Class 6 but this was what i am able to pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's an SDHC card...

Pros: - It's an SDHC card
- It's got 8GB of storage capacity.
- It's small.
- It fits into any standard SDHC card reader.
- I got it for free when I purchased an OCZ SDD from Newegg.

Cons: It's not an SSD? :D

Other Thoughts: It is what it is, does what it's supposed to do, and I got it for free when I bought an OCZ SSD. Can't complain. :D
