positive12v 12/20/2012 3:47:39 PM Tech Level: 3/5 Ownership: 3/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 4/5Almost there Pros: For the price, this is a good external enclosure for a 3.5" drive. * I was surprised at the solid construction; I imagine that if you threw it on the sidewalk it would only receive some scratches. The main body of the enclosure is metal, with a plastic bezel at the front. * Tool-less installation is nice (although it's not really tool-less considering you have to use the included key, heh heh). * Small footprint. Can also be positioned vertically or horizontally. Cons: Unfortunately, there are some caveats. * The lack of active ventilation means that the drive you install can get fairly hot. The 7200k RPM 3.5" drive I currently have in place typically reaches 53C after several hours of usage. * The mechanism that holds the door shut is somewhat flimsy, albeit only when it isn't locked. Other Thoughts: * Compatibility with 2.5" drives via an adapter would have been a handy little extra. Why? Well, why not? * USB 2.0 instead of 3.0 seems a bit odd, but I imagine the focus here was on eSATA. Not an issue at all for me. I wouldn't exactly recommend this to others at the moment, but if Orico were to improve the ventilation on this model, I certainly would.
