Great little device
Pros: Allows you to pop out dozens of hard drives in order to check if they are okay. I had a stack of them and needed to confirm whether they were working properly. This is a very convenient little device for that purpose.
Cons: The instruction book did not tell you how to take the hard drives out. After some time I figured out that you had to pull out the four plastic tabs on the side with your fingernails and turn it upside down in order to get the drives off the carrier. The instruction book could've been much clearer. Nowhere does it mention how to remove a hard drive. This is a failure of the manual not the equipment.
Other Thoughts: I found this to be a good investment after I figured out how it works. I was able to test and check 10 hard drives in an hour. it was well worth the money. It gives me much flexbility. And if I need a big hard drive attached to one of my portable computers with anyone of the three connecting options in a small case ….it is ideal.

This is NOT a Firewire 800 Device
Pros: The enclosure itself is very sturdily constructed. It is fairly easy to install a drive into the tray, the tray fits well into the enclosure and the locking mechanism seems sound.
Cons: At four feet, the power cable is a little short and doesn't quite reach from the desk top to the power strip on the floor. Six feet would have done the trick.
Other Thoughts: If you're not interested in Firewire 800 and don't mind a slightly variable whistling noise, this is otherwise a solid device.
