ORICO PNU3539-U3E is an express card which build in dual high-speed data transfer interfaces Esata+USB3.0 to PCI-E slot of desktop computer. The theoretical transfer rate of ESATA is up to 3 Gbps and USB 3.0 is up to 5Gbps, downward compatible with USB2.0 and USB1.1, perfectly supporting WINDOWS XP, VISTA, WIN7, Server 2008 operating system. The Orico website didn't have updated non-beta drivers. The only way to know what driver you need to install is by looking at an excel file and finding your card. With new drivers, I am seeing the following results: 2.98GB file transfer: Orico usb 3.0: 60 seconds on xp Onboard usb 2.0: 2:27 seconds on xp A different computer with onboard usb 3.0 with win7 64 bit: 24 seconds Orico E-sata: 60 seconds on xp So, a VAST improvement for the old computer over usb 2.0 According to tech support, the E-SATA slot is supposed to be installed as a usb 3.0 slot (and it is). Cons: First off, let me state that this card went into the following machine: Asus P5Q-EM DO Motherboard Windows XP with SP3 CoolerMaster Scout 1 case HDD tested is a 1.5TB Seagate 7200 rpm HDD, in an IcyDock Blizzard usb 3.0 and E-SATA enclosure (which works at speeds fine on my other machine, which has onboard usb 3.0 and e-sata) 1st issue was that the card didnt fit. It would slot into the pci-e slot fine, but was about 3/8 of an inch away from the back case slot. I had to remove the top bracket screw, and bend the bottom of the bracket out, to get it to fit. 2nd issue is that the E-SATA gets installed as a usb slot, just like the usb slot does. It is exactly as fast as the usb 3.0 is. Transfer 2.98gb in 60 seconds. Other Thoughts: If you want a usb 3.0 card, and an e-sata card, get seperate cards, or just get a usb 3.0 card with 2 usb 3.0 ports. It is nice to have usb and e-sata, just in case one or the other goes out, but I would guess if one goes out the other will go out also, since they are both on a usb 3.0 controller chip. But, if you have an external drive that is both usb and esata, and one of them goes out (like what happened with my rosewill ext hdd case), and this card is still good, then you could use the ext case still with whatever other cord is good.
