Great For Booting Mac PPC From Firewire
Pros: Two Bays
Other Thoughts: Purchased this to make a back up of my Mac OS X 10.5.8 on a Imac G4 PPC using Super Duper. I can boot from a hard drive partitioned with HFS+ & NTFS with my back up via firewire 400. Make sure that the hard drive you are using to bootfrom is partitioned using the Apple Partition Boot Scheme (APM) and that the hard drive is in the "HDD1" Bay (The Top One).

Decent, but loud
Pros: Two drives at Firewire 800 speeds. Using dd, I was able to get 79MB/sec out of a Seagate 7200.11 1TB drive.
Cons: The fan is excessively loud; by far the loudest part of my setup. Part of the problem is likely the placement - directly behind the backplane, with few holes for air flow out the back. It's also a hollow metal box, so you can imagine how much disk access echoes.
Other Thoughts: For the money, I'm not so sure about this one. It works well, treating the two separate drives as distinct entities. (No formatting required.) But that fan...
