2 out of 5 eggsUSB Port Breaks

Pros: Nice aluminum case. Easy to put together and get working.

Cons: The USB port on the enclosure broke free. Inserted the cable after a few months of using the external enclosure and it was simply no longer connected inside. The case is now useless and all my data is inaccessible.

5 out of 5 eggsNice inexpensive little enclosure

Pros: Good looking, inexpensive, usb3/esata enclosure, fast

Cons: Door latch feels a little cheap. It's not a positive lock all of the time. Sometimes, it takes a few tries to get the latch to engage

Other Thoughts: I had been looking for a USB3/ESATA enclosure and this went on sale so I grabbed it. It is perfect for what I need. It's fast, portable and looks good.

2 out of 5 eggsBroken junk

Pros: Easy to use

Cons: Broke just after I could return it. Product is made of very cheap material. The USB and eSATA ports are not reinforced. The USB was able to be pushed in with very little effort.

Other Thoughts: I will never buy from Orico again.

4 out of 5 eggsNice enclosure

Pros: Features both a USB 3.0 and an e-sata port. Solid construction with an LED activity light. Placing the drive into the enclosure does take a little finagling. I would recommend this product if you're looking for a solid enclosure.

Cons: It can be a little difficult to insert and secure the drive but that's nothing compared to getting the enclosure to open. It can be extremely frustrating. Although you get both a high speed 3.0 USB and an e-sata cable they are somewhat short.

Other Thoughts: Even though I would have preferred the cables had been the standard 1M length at least you get a set included.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Cool

Pros: Light weight, simple to use, easy to set up, comes with all the cables you would need either usb or sata

Cons: little switch on the top is hard to get to latch or unlock once there is a hard drive inside

Other Thoughts: Over all, great little thing to keep my hard drive safe and be able to access the files on it

5 out of 5 eggsGreat simple enclosure

Pros: Great tool-less design, made creating a new external drive incredibly easy. Would be a great enclosure for someone with limited technical skills (I could probably give this and a hard drive to my grandmother, and she would be able to figure out how to put it together).

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Had a spare 2.5" SSD drive lying around, and put it in here. Required me to format the drive, because I had not used the drive before, but the installation is amazingly easy; probably the simplest enclosure design I have ever seen.

2 out of 5 eggsWhat you see is not what you get!

Pros: The case is aesthetically pleasing... and that's it from my view point!

Cons: It comes in a nice box all wrap tightly making one think your about to get your mind blown away with something cool. When you get the ORICO 2959 out of the box it feels somewhat sturdy... then you open the front to insert the SSD and it's down hill from there. The front cover is flimsy and will not shut all the way without pressing so hard that you are worried about causing damage to you drive. Once the cover is closed flush with rest of case you then have to use a key or flat screw drivers to slide the lever over to lock it in place. Of course when doing so you are on the verge of breaking the cover. But wait it doesn't end there... All of that trouble and you think to yourself, "mmm, I hope I do not have to do that too often and that it works well enough for me not to have to open it ever again." Well one could only wish! The item came with a single USB-3 cord and an eSata cord. No where in the box was there a USB-3 y-cable to provide power to the case; for USB or eSata. Sooo, I said you know by the time I spend the effort and money on sending this thing back lets see if I have a spare cord laying around. When I went to pull the USB-3 cord out of the "new" case I saw the USB connect in the case housing wiggle. At that point I knew I had been taken as a fool and paid twenty three dollars for a SSD holder. Save your money and buy a case from a company who says what they mean and provide a quality product. Thanks for your time.
