1 out of 5 eggsDont waste your money

Pros: No Pros, this device was initially detected in device management through plug and play, installed drivers, and then tried to use a usb 2.0 device to see what it was capable of before i plugged a 3.0. The device recognized that i plugged in an usb, it tried to install the drivers, and immediately displayed an error message that flashed for a moment saying something about Power, and then nothing. i went to the website which is in Chinese, might as well had given up at that point. upon further investigation, and with the realization that the device was no longer listed in computer management, and with a failed attempt to recover the error in the error logs, i realized that low and behold the card probably fried, i reseated the card to no resolve, its just a Frisbee at this point.

Cons: PCIe x1 5 ports with 1 internal serial, i really would have loved for this device to have worked, i will never buy another orico product.

Other Thoughts: Someone needs to regulate whats coming into this country as this was not a particularly cheap card, just an utter waste of my time.

5 out of 5 eggsUSB 3.0+

Pros: Gives me 5 USB 3.0 ports, plus a header to connect a front panel to the card.

Bought this to connect a USB 3.0 front panel hub to my PC becuase the motherboard lacked the necessary connector and for some reason the USB 3.0 ports on the mobo itself always seem to freeze up the system whenever I tried to access any data. So far, I've had no glitches or freezes of any kind with this card!

Orico was nice enough to contact me via email and explain which driver set to use on their CD that is included with this. The VLI folder is the one you'd need to use for this particular card.

Cons: Most of the documentation is in Chinese. I've only had one issue where the middle USB 3.0 port on the card doesn't work, but the other four seem to function just fine. I haven't been able to figure it out yet, but since I only own 2 USB 3.0 devices, I'm curious if perhaps it functions if the other four ports are in use?

Other Thoughts: The drivers are a little out of date and can be found on the company's website, but other than that, I have no complaints about this card so far. It does what I need and gives me a little more flexibility with USB 3.0 for future needs.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good product easy to install

Pros: The Card is awesome and works great. The manufacture states this card will not work in Windows 8 however I can tell you that it will in fact work with windows 8 as I am currently running Windows 8 Pro 64 bit with media center and have the card installed in my system with no issues.

Cons: not really a con more of an annoyance than anything after first installing the card and connecting up the usb3 header to my front usb ports on my case i had to disconnect the front header to access my bios.

5 out of 5 eggsUSB 3.0+

Pros: Five USB 3.0 ports on the back, one internal connector for a USB 3.0 header and the 4-pin MOLEX connector to power the thing. More than enough ports for my build and easy enough to figure out. I even received an email from Orico after ordering on how to install the drivers and where to find the correct ones for the card's particular chipset.

The installation paperwork is fairly simple to understand and in several different languages.

Cons: For some reason, out of the five rear ports, the middle one doesn't work. I don't know if this is just a design flaw where you would have to have the other ports full before using the middle one or if I missed something during the installation of the drivers. I don't have enough USB 3.0 devices to test that theory, so I am not going to currently dock an egg over that.

Other Thoughts: Unless you read Chinese, a lot of the documentation isn't going to make much sense. The driver disc that is included with it has a LOT of drivers on it. I think they make one disc for all of their cards. The chipset driver requires the VLI drivers. These aren't hard to find as there is a VLI directory in the main root of the CD.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Quick delivery, great notification from seller/manufacturer, worked as promised, and got my great new case to work with my cheap(ish) mobo! It seems to be a quality product.

Cons: The installation drive is a little confusing - I couldn't easily find drivers online, but I did notice the notes from the manufacturer on the main description page - once I followed that, I was good.

Other Thoughts: If you have usb 3.0 ports on your case, but no plug on your mobo, this is a great and relatively inexpensive solution. Plus, you gain 4 more usb 3.0 ports!

5 out of 5 eggsUSB 3 card working in Windows 8

Pros: The card was easy to install and came with every thing you would need to install the card including the small screw that holds it in place (nice touch). The drivers that came on the CD state that they are not compatible with Windows 8 however upon installing the card and booting up my computer the card was recognized by windows 8 as a USB3 host controller. I did decide to install the Via drivers to complete the install. I do not currently own any USB3 devices however upon connecting a USB2 device to the card it was recognized and there was a speed enhancement accessing the drive.

Cons: None so far will repost if I have any issues with the card after connecting a USB3 device.

Other Thoughts: I like the fact that the plate the card comes with is Black and has USB3 written below the external ports.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, EASY To Install Product

Pros: Easy to Install, just follow the directions as provided.
Their tech support is much better than it used to be!!!!!!!!

Cons: None at all - A Happy Customer!

Other Thoughts: Connected the Molex connector and booted up, ran the CD, opened the VLI folder and ran setup.exe. That was it, I was up and running.

I first bought an Orico 7-port hub and had compatibility issues with my Asus setup. Since I rate myself very highly on tech level, I knew it wasn’t my problem. After placing an RMA w/o even contacting Orico support, I was almost immediately contacted by someone named Ivan from Orico tech support.

He provided me with specific details about the different chipsets for USB 3.0 hubs and cards and explained the differences to me with regard to my existing USB 3.0 card.

I have seen previous reviews here condemning support from Orico. Take it from me; Ivan was responsive, knowledgeable and not at all condescending.

THEIR TECH SUPPORT HAS DRAMATICALLY CHANGED FOR THE BETTER.

I am about to order the USB 3.0 20-pin to 5 ¼” drive bay adapter.

Ivan (and Orico) definitely have a new dedicated fan.

5 out of 5 eggsOrico PVU3-502I PCI-Express Card

Pros: Great USB 3.0 card. I needed a few more USB 3.0 ports on the system build I just finished. After installing the card I went straight to the Orico's website and downloaded the current drivers. The card works great! I actually purchased two of the cards. Great product.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: How about a Front Panel Internal Card Reader with 3 to 4 USB 3.0 ports. When setting up a new system it's always a good idea to go to the hardware manufacturers websites and download the latest drivers.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks good

Pros: Lots of usb 3.0 ports
Works in win 7 64 bit when you install the drivers
Ubuntu had it running the minute it booted so that was nice

Cons: Like others have previously said, the the drivers are misslabled on the cd, but they are on there, just VIA drivers.

Other Thoughts: I did get an email from Orico when i ordered this with directions on how to install it and where to find the drivers on the cd that came with it so obviously they are aware of this typo and trying to make things right.
