Pros: Camera easy to configure, software works well.

Cons: Power Supply went bad after 2 days, customer service wouldn't send replacement or refund for the purchase, I was able to purchase another aftermarket PS and they refunded the cost for that.

Other Thoughts: Don't expect the same customer service from this marketplace store that you get from Newegg.

Pros: I like this cam. It's a perfect starter cam.

Inexpensive, camera features works as expected. Great buy for the price. For a starter WLAN ip cam it introduced me to the realm of networked ip cams.

I like the range of motion. The WLAN transmits to my router very well. The IR LED's do work very good. The controls and configuration browser interface work and are easily navigated. The instructions could be clearer, but if you can set up your wireless router, you can figure this cam out.

Now that I've set this one up and played with it, I know what specs in equipment I'd like to upgrade to for other applications like real security surveil or weather station dome cam, etc.

I like this cam. It'll allow me to do remote internet access - and check up on things while I'm away.

I like the wireless aspect of it because I can move it around the house with ease and try out different placements. It allows me to inexpensively test locations, and make note of the actual specs I'd prefer for a high quality cam that would be installed for a true surveillance.

However, this cam is great for the price and can make a fun pet cam, simple weather cam or even a home culprit cam. Plus learning the tech side of video surveillance can be a wonderful hobby.

Cons: Only a few cons, but overall still a great bang for the buck!
Ability to toggle the IR LED's on or off would be a major plus. The IPCMonitor software doesn't work properly, or something is missing. I might be missing something. The manufacturer instructions need refining in printed and on the website. However, you can on you- tube find instructions for setting up this cam or one like it (but with a different name). I came across one with sound that was very helpful.

Other Thoughts: 1. toggle IR LED's on/off would be a major bonus for a firmware upgrade.
2. Auto focus or focus from admin interface
3. Auto exposure, or auto brightness and contrast with the manual override.
4. When configuring the cam Alarm Email settings, a very helpful box to select is "Report Internet IP by Mail". This is the address you access your cam from.
5. Taking the newly configured cam from the initial LAN to WLAN is the one place I think many of the newly initiated will get stumped. The cam IP changes when you switch from LAN WLAN

Pros: Wonderful hobbiest cam to learn and understand what these cameras can and cannot do to meet your satisfaction. These IP cams are really quite fun to set up and try different things with. For the price is very reasonable, the quality is good, the features are very good, the IP WLAN capabilities areinteresting to set up. A very good introduction to the realm of surveillance cameras and configuring a network to have them do what you need to accomplish.

All in all, I purchased this primarily to use as a pet cam, and perhaps to sneak a peak at a covert look at a would-be-culprit. And it will allow you do this.

Happy with the browser based camera admin.

I had a lot of fun learning about this camera and configuring the alarm and network settings for this IPCAM. And creating various types of feeds to webpage/website publishing. Think pet cam or weather conditions cam, or personal beach cam, etc.

Cons: Not so much cons. Consider this instead as a wish list for firmware upgrades as follows:
1. Toggle IR LED's on/off - helps eliminate IR glare when looking through a window at night. This would be a huge improvement.
2. In 'Advanced Settings - other settings - Path Set - Record Path - There are no instructions or means to record a path.
3. IPC Monitor Software needs more work or debugging - perhaps open it up to the community to assist with R&D.

Other Thoughts: I'm happy I bought this camera. Now I know what to look for when selecting the next one. Auto focus, auto f-stop and exposure capabilities. Greater resolution. Zoom. memory card slot. battery or capacitor back-up (even a couple of minutes would do - just to keep the cam from rebooting while moving it to another power outlet, or in the event of a momentary outage.)
