4 out of 5 eggsDyconn Dubber Dock

Pros: Received from New Egg fairly quick. copies twice as fast as my old Star Tech.

Cons: It's pretty small, but the slots are made for a full size hard drive. When using a smaller solid state drive they face one another and there is nothing to hold them in place. Just don't bump the dubber by accident while in use.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: So far so good, I've copied several drives and it's worked perfectly (especially with SSDs). Also works great as a dock, I've transferred terabytes of information using this as a dock and with several different drives with out any problems and it's very fast.

Cons: No support brace or something to fill in the gap when using 2.5" drives (not that it's been a problem) but it would be a good addition.

Other Thoughts: Possibly a sata to IDE adapter would be a good accessory.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good toaster

Pros: Somewhat smaller than my old single drive dock. Works very well, simple plug and play. USB3 is much more common than eSATA, and much faster than USB2.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Drives mount back to back in the dock seems award, but works fine. (That may be to spread out any heat build up?)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat device, worth the money

Pros: Turns any SATA drive into an external drive.

USB 3.0 speeds, but also works with USB 2.0 cables if it needs to

Cloning with a push of the button

Simple interface, easy to use

Cons: The only issue I have with it is that sometimes, the computer won't recognize it when I plug it in. I'm not sure this is a fault of the device or the computer, but it's mainly because I leave the USB cable plugged into my computer and unplug it from the back of the dock when not in use. Whenever this happens, I either have to unplug it from the back of the computer and plug it back in, or restart the computer to get it to recognize. It's a pain either way, because my computer is in a tight corner and hard to get to the back of, and restarting is an inconvenience of its own, which is why I leave the cable plugged in all the time and unplug it from the dock rather than the comp, but other than that, it's all good and not enough to dock an egg from, because, again, it might just be a fault of the motherboard rather than the dock.

Other Thoughts: Just a solid device, I got it because I had some 2TB Toshiba HD's that I wanted to use as external storage, but didn't want to get external enclosures for. This way, I've got those for external storage, as well as any other SATA drive I might need to convert to external storage with no hassle. You basically just set the drives in like bread in a toaster and you've got external drives that are easily removable, and a convenient and easy drive cloner at a push of a button. And it's pretty easy to fit into a laptop or other carrying bag to take wherever you go so long as you have access to an electrical outlet.

Couldn't be happier with it.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking Great!

Pros: Great being USB 3.0 dock for 2 drives at the same time. Transfer speed was to spec and no disconnections so far!

The 1 click harddrive cloning works well as well! Everything working as described.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Coming from owning a cheap USB 3.0 dock (for almost a year) with constant disconnections, I finally decided to buy one that has good reviews and "not so cheap". It turned out to be a great buy!

5 out of 5 eggsDubber

Pros: Plug and play. I have had no issues at all. I wanted this for fast access to my spare drives, nothing could be easier. Also it will duplicate a drive without the need for the pc but have not yet used it for this yet. This is easier than making an image. Just duplicate the boot drive and remove! Well made aluminum case is modern and sleek looking. Bright blue led indicators for online status. Convenient on/off switch.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsSuperior Specifications

Pros: This is my second purchase of this item, the first attached to an older medium-sized backup (Dell 2850) server to provide considerable (4-TB) external backup-to-disk storage, connected by way of an added USB 3.0 contoller. Likewise, the second was attached to a high-end desktop with built-in USB 3.0 connectivity so that bare drives may be mounted/unmounted at will. This unit was chosen for its superior specifications--specifically for its internal SATA III drive interface to take advantage of its throughput potential since the use of its USB 3.0 interface to the system provides considerably more throughput than USB 2.0, etc. I expect the data transfer bottleneck to be that of the drives inserted in the dock rather than the dock--the succession of interfaces to the system. As newer and faster drives are used, their inherent speeds will be preserved through the interfaces to the system.

Cons: I was disappointed with the absence of separate disconnect switches for each drive. This forces one to physically remove a running drive while power (and data) lines are still active when a second drive in the dock must remain connected and active for other reasons. Such (external) drives are generally attached under the "Quick removal" Removal policy (which is the default setting for such drives) rather than the "Better performance" policy which requires that the user use the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon to disconnect the drive safely. But, this (default) setting (write caching disabled) can prevent the best drive I/O performance--the bottleneck of the dock when optimally connected. With separate "power-down" switches on the dock, a drive's write cache could be cleared for safe drive removal when a user has selected better performance settings (write caching). As such, removing drives without first powering down the system can be risky--or, at least scary.

Other Thoughts: One can chose to disconnect drives with the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon to remove a drive safely even when this does not apply (because of the default setting for external drives), but too often we get the dreaded "this device is in use" message, when we know it is not in use--at least not on the user's account. Separate power-down switches would eliminate all that guess-work by safely clearing any cache and powering down the drive for safe removal.
Just the same, this product has superior specifications to those of others offered for use in such roles. Actual I/O throughput performance is highly dependent on the drives used and the system attached to it, but comparisons on drives that were previously attached internally on SATA III interfaces would be interesting to see.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: USB 3.0 with cable included, build quality.

Cons: Can't think of any so far. A lower price would have been nice.

Other Thoughts: I wanted a way to use some spare drives I had and all the internal bays were occupied. This met my needs and also functions as a duplicator if I ever need one.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for backing up your HDD's

Pros: Nice solid construction, easy to operate and has indicator lights showing drive status, cloning progress and completion. I've already cloned a couple of hard drives and they, and all the programs within, work perfectly!

Cons: None, so far

Other Thoughts: Very happy with this purchase!

5 out of 5 eggsAs described

Pros: Worked as described. Solidly built. USB 3.0

Cons: I tried to duplicate a windows 8 drive to decrease the time it takes to load the OS and do updates. (currently loading OS on 31 new PCs for a school) Once I installed the source drive back into the PC, MS Office would not start. I think this is a windows8/software issue and not a result of this piece of hardware.

Other Thoughts: all out of other thoughts.
