To change between modes just turn the flashlight on and press the on/off button gently - not all of the way on/off. By gently pressing the on/off switch you can change between a bright light, a dimmer light, or a bright flashing light. As others have said, this is a very rugged metal flashlight. Pros: Rugged construction, super bright, adjustable beam, uses 3 AAA batteries, high/low/strobe, seem tactical grade...and under 10 bucks!
