4 out of 5 eggsGets the Job done

Pros: Worked well with my Yamaha p85 keyboard. Plugged it in and it worked.

Cons: You will need to download ASIO4ALL Drivers to get rid of any delay you might have in playback. It was a pain getting the driver to work on my win7 machine with ableton live, but not the fault of the hardware. Shipping took a good week and a half.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly fine.

Pros: Works as intended, not sure why the others are having difficulties; multi track and multi note work fine and control from midi keyboard works fine as well. Recording into music software was no problem and it recognized duration and pressure just fine.

Cons: None really.

2 out of 5 eggsTook a gamble

Pros: Drivers for MIDI device loaded up automatically in Win7 x64

Shipped really fast on free shipping (estimated deliv was 7-8 business days) arrived in 2 days.

Worked kinda but....... see below

Cons: Could not press more than 1 key at a time. Also pressing sustain pedal caused MIDI controller to think I was pressing E key on my keyboard.

Other Thoughts: I bought this after reading the one review saying this didn't work for the buyer and weird things happened when trying to use it. Thought I'd take a gamble and try since it was cheap and free shipping. Paid $6.99 and arrived in 2 days. Well I lost the bet. Kinda. It worked when pressing only 1 key at a time. But anytime you pressed 2 or more keys down and then released the keys my Windows program would think that the keys would still be pressed down.

Also this was purchased through Newegg marketplace vendor TomTop. But requested RMA through NewEgg and they offered to let me keep the item and refund $4 dollars of the $7. Acceptable to me since I didn't have to mess with shipping the silly thing back.

1 out of 5 eggsDevice incorrectly interprets MIDI codes

Pros: Cheap price

Cons: Does not properly interpret MIDI codes generated by keyboard. I've correctly connected the IN to the keyboard midi OUT. For kicks, I even swapped them incase the cables were mislabeled. Depressing a key should generate KEY ON and KEY OFF. This device interprets a key press as anything from a program change to other random midi codes.

Other Thoughts: Price is cheap enough that it isn't worth my time to RMA. NewEGG was efficient as usual with regard to order processing and shipping. I have ordered from NewEGG for many years and will continue to do so. I am very happy with NewEGG. However, this device is a dud. I enter this review simply to help others in their search for a reliable USB MIDI cable.
