Unlike other fast chargers, the PowerEx MH-C401FS allows you to recharge AA & AAA NiMH or NiCD batteries accurately and coolly, around 100 minutes.

Regardless of the of battery's capacity, if they cannot be fully charged users would not be able to fully realize the potential of the batteries. The PowerEx MH-C401FS delivers the most complete charge for chargers in its class. The FLEX negative pulse algorithm also significantly enhances battery life.

The MH-C401FS is also the first charger on the market to offer the choice between a 100-minute rapid charge and a slower, gentler 5-hour charge, both driven by a microprocessor termination control to prevent overcharge. Accomplished by simply flipping a switch, the 5 hour gentle charge achieves ultra-cool charging when charging time is not crucial.

5 out of 5 eggsbest ive had

Pros: After hours of usage on my digital camera to test how long they would last, these things are still going. I got bored with it. These batteries outlasted me. So far not a problem with the charger either. Excellent product features. Light turns green when done, and also trickle charges to keep them full. Awesome. Canlow charge takes only 5 hours and its the safest for your batteries

Cons: No cons. In the manual it says heat is normal; stop using that as a con.

Other Thoughts: Even at this price; you will still save cash in the long run.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Charger

Pros: This thing is great. It charges fast on the fast setting and slower on the cool setting if you don't need the speed (which is good for your batteries' life). It charges the batteries really well. The batteries that came with it are great! My digital camera would eat alkalines, even the "heavy duty" kind, in a very short time. These just keep going and going. I have only had to recharge them once in about a year. They seriously rock. The led's are color coded to tell you when they are done or actively charging, also.

Cons: None that I have seen. They by far surpassed my expectations, which were already decently high.

Other Thoughts: I think it's a good purchase that will save you money, especially with digital cameras.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Charger Around

Pros: Bought this combo over a year ago and still going strong. Batteries are top-notch, last a long time and the charger is the best.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: After researching battery chargers I landed on this one and have never been happier. Just buy it, you won't be dissapointed.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice unit

Pros: Unit is small (fist-sized) and holds 4xAA *or* 4xAAA cells with individual charge indicator LEDs. Slow/Fast charge switch. Batteries on slow charge barely got above room temperature after sitting 9 hours.

Cons: No dust cover, though there is a lip and holes for hinge pins to accommodate one. "Wall wart" power is actually bigger than the charger itself!

Other Thoughts: Came with a car adapter (beware: Newegg sells an identical charger that does NOT come with a car charger unit). Also came with 4xAA batteries in a plastic carry case. The carry case also has indents to hold 4xAAA batteries (with room for 1xAA left over).

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Seems to have good long life so far but I'm still only on the first charge.

Cons: I did not get a car adapter and the instructions included say that the car charger is sold separately.

5 out of 5 eggsPowerEx Charger

Pros: The charger is microprocessor controled with individual channels for each of the 4 cells being charged.

Cons: AA cells get quite warm in the 100 min charge mode but this is expected. Ni-Mh cells last longer when charged slow and cool.

Other Thoughts: I have been using an Energizer charger with 2400mah ni-mh batteries for some time. The battery performance started to suffer because the charger couldn't ballance individual cells. Some cells would get blistering hot. The cell power degradated in my Nikon flash increasing the cycle time. The MH-C401 processed the same cells on the 5 hour charge with no problem peaking each cell individually as indicated by the charge leds. There was a big difference in the reduced cycle time of the flash.

5 out of 5 eggsJust a darn good charger

Pros: Just as the title says.. i can't say any more.. does its job.. its awesome that you can just charge one battery at a time if you want.. that it has a fast or slow charge.. and the trickle down charge once charging is complete, to keep the batteries at full charge, is awesome too!!

And the batteries are the best rechargeable batteries EVER!!!

Cons: none.

5 out of 5 eggsI will buy again

Pros: These are great batteries, I went to Las Vegas this last weekend for 3 days for the Nascar there on Friday at noon and started taking pictures on a fresh charge of 4 batteries in my new 640 cannon I bought here on Newegg. I took pictures for 3 days on the same batteries and got..220 pictures and 13 movie clips on a 2GB SD card..321 pictures and 25 movie clips on a 4GB SD card..the movie clips alone were over 3.58GB, I think it's about a 100MB a maybe 35 to 40 min of small movie clips! I had to change the batteries coming home Sunday night.

Cons: ZERO

Other Thoughts: I didn't think batteries could last as long as these did and at lest a 1/3 of the pictures was with a flash! These are the best batteries I have ever used! I am a very satisfied customer!

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: We use batteries a lot around our business and home. And so far this battery charger is pretty good.

Cons: None as of right now.

Other Thoughts: Buying batteries is expensive. I rather just put the big cost out now and save all the money that it will in the future!
