Klipsch Icon SB 1 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer

KLIPSCH

The Klipsch Icon SB 1 soundbar with wireless subwoofer is the first of its kind to feature our founder’s revolutionary horn-loaded technology. What results is a system that opens up an unmatched range of sound, letting you experience every detail of your favorite movies, TV shows and video games. While other soundbars only use a single driver to deliver sound, Klipsch gives each channel its own horn-loaded tweeter and dual midbass drivers to minimize distortion and disperse sound evenly.

The high-quality 10-inch wireless subwoofer automatically connects with the soundbar and creates deep bass you can feel. The SB 1 is also 3D Surround enabled, letting you simulate a surround sound system experience from every corner of the room. To truly experience Hollywood sound, look no further than the legendary horn-loaded technology of the Klipsch Icon SB 1.

KLIPSCH

Horn-loaded technology is a perfect fit for a soundbar. Horn-loading increases speaker efficiency so that you get the most sound from a given power to literally fill even a larger room with sound. Distortion is naturally reduced with horn-loading and that, combined with sending more of the sound directly to the main listening area, allows both overall sonic details and vocal clarity to be noticeably increased.

The Icon SB 1 is easy to hookup to almost any TV and comes with its own remote control or you can quickly program most existing TV remotes to operate it.

5 out of 5 eggsKlipsh Icon SB-1

Pros: The soundbar sounds really great. Very clear. Highs sound great, picks up deepness surprisingly well, like in voices. the subwoofer sounds really good on certain notes. I think it's breaking in and gets better every day so far. Everything sounds really really good in movies. The bass hits hard and the soundbar sounds incredible. The 3D surround mode works well. It doesn't replace 5.1 but it works well. The soundbar sounds really good for music but the subwoofer leaves something to be desired. but, for movies it's great. Overall it sounds WAY better than $200 and $300 Samsung soundbars I've heard. So, for $279 or $299, it's really great. The subwoofer won't fill up a large room, but the soundbar will.

Cons: Subwoofer, I guess. But it's a 10" and for a soundbar it hits. Compared to a component subwoofer not so much...but I guess that's to be expected.

Other Thoughts: Sounds is great.

Pros: easy to set up, looks nice with my vizio 4k 50", very clear and crisp sound

Cons: wish it was just a bit louder but it is plenty for a mid size living room

5 out of 5 eggsBang Your Buck Here

Pros: Excellent value under 300$....

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Got this on sale half off and what a bargain at that price. You have to spend above 600$ to get decent quality sound bar and this is great value marked down. Assuming they are closing out this older model in favor of newer. Listening to Fiddler on roof right now and it is wonderful. the 3d surround feature does give more atmosphere to movies than I expected for a sound bar.

1 out of 5 eggsImmediate connectivity issues

Pros: When this soundbar system is actually working, it sounds amazing. The 3-D sound function works as advertised and brings big sound in a small package. I'm a fan of the horn technology Klipsch uses for their tweeters, and they sound great on this system. The 10-inch Subwoofer provides awesome booming bass, and is a great deal for such a cheap Klipsch product.

Cons: The cons here are the simply fact that the Subwoofer can never stay paired to the soundbar, EVER. I've owned this system for just under a month. When I first plugged it in and connected the subwoofer it sounded great....for about 15 minutes. Now, every single time I want to watch a movie, play music, or watch tv, the subwoofer starts having trouble wirelessly pairing to the soundbar and will go in-and-out. There is no option to connect the subwoofer with wires. It has become impossible to use this sound system because I can't have continuous bass coming from the subwoofer. I've read through the owner's manual and completed every trouble shooting option there is (i.e. turning off and on, re-initiating the pairing of the subwoofer and soundbar, pressing in the factory reset buttons on the back). I now have a useless soundbar system and have to go through the trouble of trying to get a refund or a replacement product.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat! But DOA (RMA)

Pros: Literally almost plug and play. Just hook everything up & it all just works. Use an optical cable as the turning on the TV will automatically turn on the soundbar. Sub automatically syncs with soundbar. Soundar quality is very good. Sub, not sure yet, see other thoughts.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The subwoofer came dead on arrival. It syncs with the soundbar no problem, just no sound. I called Klipsch support, who were very helpful, and it was determined I just got a lemon. Listen to the other reviews, this product is great. I'm sending back to Newegg for a new one so I will update once I get it!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the money

Pros: Very easy setup done in minutes. If you're looking for a simple and relatively low cost way to tremendously enhance your televisions audio, then I would recommend this system every time. You'll never turn your TV speakers back on again!

Cons: Not a one

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind that it doesn't have all the bells and whistle's but what it does should meet any expectations for this type of unit.

5 out of 5 eggsEnergy Elite turned Klipsch...

Pros: +This looks to be the same sound bar as the Energy Elite soundbar before Klipsch bought them out. That isn't a bad thing.
+The sound on my Energy Elite is impressive.
+The 3D works well with Dolby Digital Surround sources, and in some instances, I can actually hear the sound behind me.
+The subwoofer pairs instantly without issue.
+Remote works well

Cons: -Optical or RCA input only. No HDMI. This means you won't have any luck pushing Blue Ray's raw DTS signal through this. Dolby Digital surround only.
-When you first get the speakers, there seemed to be a break-in period where the highs weren't as noticeable as they are to me now.
-The sub can't reproduce really low frequencies, but at this price range, that's expected.
-Key-hole wall mounting on the back, no ability to use brackets. This isn't an issue except it's doubtful you will hit a stud, and the included anchors are garbage...
-The included Remote is the only way to turn 3D function on/off... Universal remotes won't have this button, and they decided for some reason not to put this button on the actual soundbar itself. Harmony remotes might be able to have it.

5 out of 5 eggsLike it!

Pros: Easy installation (using TOS Link). Works great with remote. Have not done (and will not do) any quantitative analysis. Replaces the speakers in my bedroom Samsung TV. Went from barely understanding audio to great (clear) in-your-face audio. Sub performs well. Not sure I perceive the "3D" audio option. Regardless, turns a sub-par audio experience to a really good one. Love the wireless sub!

FYI, I am an old school Klipsch fan - my living room 7.1 system is driven by a Yamaha amp and all old Klipsch speakers.

Cons: None other than not sensing the "3D' option.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product, upset with newegg though. .

Pros: Very loud, very clear. Music & movies come alive.

Cons: My only gripe with the unit is the volume control, one notch up goes more then it should.

4 out of 5 eggsEasy Setup, Great sound, Remote/IR has flaws

Pros: Packaged nicely. Came without any damage (phew). Setup is a snap. Optical out from the TV (best) or RCA's. Subwoofer connects asap once its turned on. Sound is fantastic. Remote can be programmed to work with other universal remotes so you can hook it up to your cable box or TV remote (check instructions on how to do this)

Cons: Included remote is cheaply made and interferes with my electric fireplace remote. Also, I have issues with the IR as it doesn't work over a great range, especially if you are positioned to the far left or right side of the TV.

Other Thoughts: I'm glad I bought this, even with the IR issues. Got it for $260 after AMEX credit and Newegg discounts.
