5 out of 5 eggsExcellent USB 3.0 Adapter Card

Pros: Worked great right out of the box! Very stable after drivers installed and given some time to "burn-in". Backward compatible to USB 2.0 & 1.1 with no problems. Nice upgrade for my PC.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsSmooth so Far

Pros: Seems to work as claimed. Drivers loaded flawlessly; The usb 3.0 wireless adapter seems to be working well, unlike before before I trashed my old 3.0 hub and controller. I'll know more when I buy more 3.0 devices. Next up a flash drive.

Cons: None so far.

2 out of 5 eggsBarely lasted a few weeks.

Pros: This is a good product when it works, it's plenty fast, and relatively easy to install.

Cons: As the title states, mine didn't last very long, but this thing came with a bunch of out of the box issues.

First of all, the driver sucks, it repeatedly has issues finding the device in the first place. Also it barely supports any operating system; I actually had to upgrade my server to Windows 8.1 from Windows Server 2008 which I would have preferred to get native USB 3.0 Bus support.

At that point it worked great until a few weeks later, I tried to backup some files to a drive. It suddenly stopped working, Windows could see the device in Device Manager, but it was shut off due to some issue led by a random error code.

Of course that was the point where all drives weren't detected or anything. Nothing has changed since I installed the hardware, and since it's a server, no software is installed or anything very frequently.

This somehow led into another problem with a device completely unrelated to the USB card.

Other Thoughts: Overall, i'd say it's pretty cheaply made. I had such an issue trying to get the SATA Power connector into its port without breaking the connector right off the PCB.

It works, but not for very long in my experience. And no, the driver you can download or is on the mini-cd that is in the packaging doesn't do much good either
