1 out of 5 eggsGood for 10 months

Pros: To be fair, in the first 10 months, this rice cooker was great -- it did everything it supposed to do, and did it wonderfully. The rice tastes great, and it's very easy to clean everything up.

Cons: However, since the 9th month, the outside of the cooking pan started peeling off. It started small, but within two months, almost one-third of the outside of the pan is gone. The worst part is, the material peeled off sometime fell in the rice, which could cause safety hazard if it is eaten.

To make things even worse, when I contacted Zojirushi for warranty service, I was told the pan was not covered by warranty. Be more accurate, the case of peeling off is not covered! What a joke! And a new pan costs as much as $70 with shipping. I thought the best service will come with the expensive item. I was wrong.

Other Thoughts: No Zojirushi product ever again.

5 out of 5 eggs5 years later, Love it still

Pros: Pretty easy to use. We do white, Jasmin, and Sushi rice all the time. Always perfect. Can make it and take it to a friends house and great rice hours later when we decide to use it.

Cons: Price

Other Thoughts: At that price we paid, warranty should have been for 5 years!

Pros: perfect rice everytime

Cons: price

Other Thoughts: Great rice cooker but pricey. If you make a lot of rice than you do get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsfantastic rice cooker

Pros: Cooks fantastic rice every time. Like my Zojirushi bread maker this rice cooker is super simple to use and does an excellent job every time. It is extremely easy to clean requiring just a simple rinse of the bowl and lid. The delayed start timer is great. You just set the finish time and press start.

Cons: I wish the cord was retractable like some of the other Zojirushi models.

Other Thoughts: Rice pilaf is extremely easy to make in this machine and comes out better than I ever was able to do it on the stove. It also makes the best oatmeal ever using steel cut oats.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat a rice maker

Pros: What a great little rice maker. I have kept rice warm for 24 hours and it still tasted great. Liked this machine so much we bought the breaker which is just as well built and produces a quality bread.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Have to think of a recipe for dough and rice

4 out of 5 eggsGood as it gets, but expensive

Pros: Cooks fast. About 40 min. Always perfect. I use the older rice as it is more dry. I buy a 40 lb bag from the local Asian store. Older more dry rice is better. I.e. last years crop. Great looking, light, easy to use, stores well. Easy enough that my 8 year old can make 2 or 3 cups of rice if I ask him to. 10+ hours holding time is excellent!

Cons: Expensive. -1 star because I really don't think this machine was worth the price whether I use the Gabba setting or not.

Other Thoughts: Have yet to set it up for porridge or rice for the morning...
Never did use the Gabba brown rice yet and probably never will. Would not pay for that aspect again. This sucker was expensive. I expect it will be around for 10+ years!

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best Rice Cooker You Can Bbuy

Pros: I researched several rice cookers after owning a cheaper brand that didn't cook very well for a holiday gift to the family and this one seemed to not only be the most expensive (unfortunately), but the best/best reviewed of them all (that was the good part). People consistently said it produced the best rice with no stickiness or lack of uniform texture. They were right. I bought one and for the amount of rice we eat (probably 3-4 times per week), it has worked out better than expected. Perfect rice every time we've used it. The unit, although it has several buttons and a lengthy instruction set, is very easy to use-it really cooks on its own and you just press the type of rice. One feature we love is that you can set the done time and put in the rice/water hours ahead of schedule and the cooker will automatically start cooking at the correct time to have the rice done at that precise time.

Cons: None, except maybe the price, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Stainless steel exterior looks great in the kitchen, easy to clean by just taking out the two pieces and spatula (they're not dishwasher safe but it's only two pieces that need washing), it plays music when you set it and when it's done, for the hardcore rice connoisseur the instructions even have adjustments you can make depending on how late the rice harvest was (we haven't quite gotten there yet), I don't know precisely how the "induction cooking" works but I know it works really well.
