5 out of 5 eggsThis is a nice piece of equipment

This review is from: Nikon D7100 1513 Black 24.1 MP Digital SLR Camera - Body

Pros: This camera has features galore. It feels balanced in the hand and built well. Focus is wicked fast. There is usually more than one way to adjust a setting. I upgraded from a D5100 and I can see there is going to be a learning curve for me. Money well spent.....

Cons: costs a mortgage payment.

Other Thoughts: Although its twice the cost of a D5100, I wish I had just gone into the D7100.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent DX c amera

This review is from: Nikon D7100 1513 Black 24.1 MP Digital SLR Camera - Body

Pros: This is a high quality Advanced Amateur body with extremely high resolution (2nd only to the D800) in 35mm DSLR style cameras. Excellent choice as a backup to the D800 or as a first serious camera. Current price point is good, and may get even better.

Cons: The only Con I have for this camera is that it does not have USB3. Other than that, I strongly suggest that you have serious glass to take advantage of the resolution. If you already have a Nikon body with kit lenses I suggest that you first buy Pro glass, then get this body.

Other Thoughts: I do not yet have this body, but I have tested it and plan to buy it when the price falls as a replacement for my 7000 and backup for the 800. Test shots with Pro glass are absolutely gorgeous in just about all lighting conditions. The lack of a low pass filter can be a problem for the novice in some situations, so if you don't know what that means you need to check it out carefully. If you do, no problem.
