3 out of 5 eggsWorks, but wouldn't buy again

Pros: It works and does what it's supposed to.

Cons: HORRIBLE viewing angle - dark colors vanish if the screen angled upwards as little as just 5 degrees off of a direct 90 degree viewing angle. Slow response time - apps frequently generate an "app not responding" error, asking the user if the want to close it or wait. These apps are all working properly, but they're taking so long to respond or launch that the system thinks they have failed. Get used to seeing this and clicking the "wait" option a lot, and the apps will eventually work. Major network connectivity issues, though I can't say with 100% certainty that it just doesn't like my wifi network (although my network is very straight forward and simple). Haven't tested it on any other network yet. The O.S. is apparently rooted, and thus I the Time Warner Cable app that lets you view live TV through your Time Warner internet/wifi, wouldn't work. Their app doesn't allow for any rooted devices. The default launcher only provides 5 screens for widgets and icons. Don't know if that's standard for Android tablets, but the Android smart phones I've owned have all had 7 screens. Low quality front camera. The single speaker isn't loud enough, especially since it's on the back.

Other Thoughts: When I first started setting this tablet up, my first impression was that it was a good value for the money. However as I spent day after day getting it set up and configured with the various apps and widgets that I wanted, and started using the tablet, my opinion changed drastically. The viewing angle issue is a MAJOR problem. If you're not looking at this thing at a dead on 90 degree angle or higher, forget about it, at least if there are any dark colors on the screen. I've owned and used many smartphones, LCD TVs, and LCD laptops, and I've never seen anything like this.

Another big problem is the response time for the apps. I virtually never see or saw the "app not responding" error msg from my current or past Android smartphones, but it's a very common occurrence this tablet because it's so slow. In almost every case the app will eventually finish if you just hit the wait button, but it's ridiculous to have to do that. I couldn't find a setting that would allow the user to change how long the system waits for an app to respond before generating that error, but perhaps there is one somewhere.

The limit of 5 screens was unexpected for me, having had 7 screens with all of my phones, but perhaps 5 is standard for tablets? A workaround would be to install a different launcher, such as the "Go launcher", but that brings with it a lot of other changes aside from just 7 screens. Most people like it, but it's not for everyone and does complicate things.

I was particularly irritated to discover that the device is apparently rooted. One of the primary reasons I purchased it was to watch live TV anywhere in or around my house through Time Warner's app (and apparently you can watch it from any Wi-fi with their newest version), but their app throws a message saying that it will not work with rooted phones. Never bought a new Android device before that was rooted from the get go..., but this is my first Android tablet so I don't know if this is extremely rare or very common.

To sum up, this tablet does technically work, and isn't a complete waste of money, but because of the viewing angle issue and the response time, I definitely would not purchase one again, nor would I recommend one to anybody. The rooted issue is another deal breaker, but I don't know enough yet to say whether that's something unique to this tablet or if it's common among these low end Android tablets.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Inexpensive Tablet

Pros: Inexpensive, Relatively Quick for a single core processing unit, plays games and applications well. It even comes with the Google Play Store. Very Good for the money.

Cons: While the screen is bright and looks quite good considering the lower resolution, the viewing angle is quite poor. This isn't a deal breaker by any means just something that the buyer should be aware of, and if you are willing to hold it angled with line of sight, the unit is fine.
The only other minor issue, is the browser occasionally states it is not responding. (Probably due to the lower processing speed.) The moment you press "wait," however, the unit continues to load the page properly.

Other Thoughts: The unit I received seemed quite well built, even compared to my Nexus 7. There were no dead pixels, which is awesome for a product in this price range. Google Play is also a nice addition, especially for such a low cost tablet. The USB keyboard will require an adapter, but it is thrown in for free from the seller, so I cannot complain. All in all I would definitely recommend this as a budget unit.

1 out of 5 eggsshipped via USPS

Pros: Don't know have not recieved mine to try

Cons: Just like i said in pros

Other Thoughts: I have been asking the mail men (3 different people that runs my route) if they have seen a package for me an 1 of them tell me that they dropped it off 2 days ago and sit it on the steps of my trailor and I live in a trailor park and down a busy road where anybody going by could have seen the package, picked it up and been gone. Why was this not sent fedx or ups where I would have to sign for it

4 out of 5 eggsWorth every penny..

Pros: Cost.
It has Google PLAY installed..
Screen is responsive and precise.. Much better than expected!
Wi-Fi picks up strong. Good signal even in back yard.
Free Case and usb keyboard...
I've also got a Nexus 7, and this thing here plays almost everything that the Nexus does.. Not all, but 9 out of 10 work..

Cons: The usb keyboard will require you to purchase an adaptor to use it.. The cable provided is incorrect..
It has to have an AC charge.. It doesn't charge from the usb...

Other Thoughts: Given the two small issues I have with this tablet, I liked it so much I ended up buying 3... Everyone is enjoying the tablets..

3 out of 5 eggsReview update

Pros: They did send the adapters for the keyboards... finally. So I raised my review an egg. The two people I spoke with were very kind and polite. I did receive a 9" in tablet for the same price as the 7" i ordered.

Cons: They said they would send them after receiving confirmation of the tracking order. They waited over a week after receiving the item itself. After the lies I am done with this company.

Other Thoughts: If they had just done what they said they would do, they would have received at least 4 stars. But not delivering on the promises killed it for me.

4 out of 5 eggsGood deal

Pros: Great price for Ice Cream Sandwich 7" Android tablet. 1 GIG ram, 8 GIG storage and is expandable with micro SD slot. Decent processor is fast enough. Google apps pre-installed including Google Play. Tablet came with nice keyboard case. However, the keyboard isn't Bluetooth and connects via a USB cable. THe USB plug is full size. You will have to buy an adapter to to fit the mini USB input make it work. I did so and keyboard works fine.

Cons: Battery life isn't the greatest.

Other Thoughts: Bought two for my twin grandsons. Loaded all the Angry Bird and Bad Piggies games without any issues.

4 out of 5 eggsLiked it so much, I just got 2 more!

Pros: IT has GOOGLE PLAY installed!!
The wi-fi picks up a great signal from anywhere in the house or through out the yard.. The screen is very responsive. It is rather quick and so far I've only found one program that doesn't work on here, but does on my nexus 7.. For less than half the cost of my nexus 7, I'm minus one game, and I get a keyboard with kickstand cover to boot, hdmi OUT, some very comfy ear buds, microsd expansion up to 32gig!! What is not to love..... :)

Cons: The package contains the wrong usb connector cable. So you need to get the , SYBA CL-CAB20125 4" Micro-USB B 5-pin Male to Standard Type-A Female Adapter Cable M-F , but they are sold out at the moment. Without an adapter you can't use the keyboard..

The speaker is weak.. The ear buds make up for this tho..

Other Thoughts: All in all, even missing a vital component, the proper usb connection for the tablet and keyboard to work, I will still rate this a 4egg outta 5...
