The Fresh Brew Stainless Steel Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker preserves the complex, rich flavor of your gourmet coffee, instead of cooking it to scorchy-tasting syrup, like conventional coffee makers. This programmable unit will have your coffee ready for you when you wake up in the morning, and keep it hot and fresh for hours (144 degrees, for 10 hours; 117 degrees, for 24 hours) in its brushed stainless steel vacuum carafe. The coffee maker features a detachable stainless steel filter for quick, thorough cleanup!

Once the brew cycle is complete, the heating element shuts off, so your coffee stays as smooth and delicious as the moment it came through the filter. The carafe's lid slows the oxidation process, which causes that awful, bitter taste coffee gets after sitting in open air. The lightweight carafe features a comfortable handle, for neat, easy pouring, and it’s brushed surface hides fingerprints. With the drip-less pause and serve feature, you can even sneak a cup before brewing is finished, without making a mess!

  • newegg Exceptional Design The Zojirushi EC-BD15 coffee maker boasts a stainless steel thermal carafe to keep the coffee hot for hours without altering the taste, a detachable stainless steel filter basket for easy cleaning and a pause-to-serve feature for convenient serving.
  • newegg Timer Display The Zojirushi EC-BD15 coffee maker features an easy-to-read LCD display for clock and timer settings, so you can accurately set the coffee to complete brewing by the desired time.

2 out of 5 eggsWill not buy another one

Pros: Makes consistent coffee
Carafe keeps coffee hot for 6 hours

Cons: Display broke
Does not get coffee hot enough
Have to align pot with basket unless you like making coffee for your countertop.

Other Thoughts: I am disappointed in this unit. The display broke within 2 months and overall build quality was not deserving of the price I paid. I will not buy another Zojirushi product.

5 out of 5 eggsBoy was I wrong

Pros: I wrote my first review back in 2008 and gave it 2 stars and told people to get a Mr. Coffee .Boy was I wrong this is with out a doubt the best coffee maker that we every had. We still have this coffee maker and it's going as strong as every. If it ever dies we will buy another one in a heart beat. Makes good hot coffee it's easy to take apart and clean, you can clean the parts in the dish washer.

Cons: The only con is when I gave it 2 stars when It deserved 5 +.

Other Thoughts: Great investment as most coffee maker last about 2 yrs.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT a thermal carafe

Pros: It makes coffee.

Cons: Does not keep coffee hot at all.

Other Thoughts: I bought this unit to replace my cuisinart coffee maker that we had for almost 10 yrs. Our old coffee maker kept coffee hot for 12 hrs+( thermal carafe ) the thermal carafe on this coffee maker is junk. My work thermos keeps coffee hotter than this one.

2 out of 5 eggsProblems

Pros: Makes coffee fast.

Cons: Not as hot as it states from the beginning. Must have pot in perfect place or water goes everywhere. Had ours for 3 years and it now just stopped working. Did this last year and we shook it a little and it started back up. DEAD now. I would have hoped to get more than 3 years out of it.

Other Thoughts: I love my coffee hot and although it is thermal it is not glass thermal which really keeps it hot. It's ok just not anywhere near great.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong after 5 years

Pros: Still going strong after 5 years. Still has ~185°F water.

Cons: Water level indicator ball got dirty and is difficult to clean. Would be nice to have a slightly higher extraction temperature. Care must be taken not to over-tighten the lid or it cinches shut. Heat stopper is nothing but a novelty.

Other Thoughts: I reviewed this coffee maker on 10/12/2005. This is the same maker. It still makes great coffee, but that's relative to your proportion and grind. What the coffee maker needs to do is provide consistent temperature and rate of flow for the water, which this maker has been doing for over 5 years. It seems the philosophy for extraction temperature has shifted in recent years, favoring something closer to boiling. It's all relative though, you can make excellent drip coffee with this.

This maker doesn't get more simple, really. I am a bit confused by the fact that with a non-heated carafe that people don't realize you need to preheat the carafe with hot water after filling the maker with cold water.

I give it the occasional cleaning with BrewRite and then flush it well with water. I filled the reservoir with hot water and oxyclean, let it sit and then used a pipe cleaner to get down in the sight tube. That made the ball float 'glow' again.

I have gotten my money's wor

1 out of 5 eggsEC-BD15

Pros: Hot coffee

Cons: Stop working after 4th used.

Other Thoughts: Threw away box after one week. Newegg did not allow RMA without a box and will not send a replacement one. I am very disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Home Brews

Pros: It brews good coffee at my perfect temperature and then doesn't burn it between cups. Very easy to clean. Comes with a dishwasher safe filter. Will not produce coffee hot enough to scald, so it will not burn the flavor out or turn bitter.

Cons: It can be moody, and the plastic top is a bit flimsy to be dealing with hot liquids, but that is nit-picking. By moody I mean there are a lot of parts you simply have to remain aware of and keep clean (see Pros).

Other Thoughts: I would not have allowed myself to pay ninety dollars for a machine that makes a liquid that no one else in my family enjoy, so I am very thankful that my family got it as a gift for me. You do have to understand what parts are not dishwasher safe because there are a lot of parts but they work well to make a good pot of coffee and keep it hot for a long time.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This coffee maker makes good coffee. YOUR coffee maker does not. The Zojirushi gets the water hot enough to brew a good pot.

Cons: Other reviewers have noted that there are some areas where the machine is awkward to use. I think those are minor issues that you will forget about once you get familiar with the brewer.

The reason I gave this machine two stars is that it failed right at one year. I was not able to find a source for the heater element, or I would have replaced it.

Other Thoughts: A good drip coffee maker is hard to come by. You can find machines on the web that will brew a good cup, but they are more expensive than the Zojirushi. Do a little research about brands like Technivorm and Capresso.

I'm currently enjoying a Technivorm, bought for me by my loving family. (I couldn't have spent that much.)

5 out of 5 eggsgreat machine

Pros: Great cup of coffee, have not had any problems with it. Coffee stays hot for a long time without getting burnt. I've owned this maker for well over a year.

Cons: Too easy to change the time. I accidentally change it often.

Other Thoughts: Loud? Really? Unreliable? Best overall coffee maker I've owned.
