Consisting of one IR repeater block, one IR receiver, and two dual IR emitters, the C2G 40430 IR repeater kit is designed to extend the reach of the IR signal from your remote control. In situations where your AV components are mounted in a closet or another room without a clear line of sight path for an infrared signal, this kit allows you to operate your AV devices as if they were located right in front of you. Mount the IR receiver in a central location, and connect it to the IR distribution block. This block repeats the signals through emitters to your electronic components. It provides confirmation for reception of IR signals via blinking blue LEDs. An AC adapter is included for out-of-the-box use.

Please Note:

Careful consideration must be used when placing the IR receiver near a plasma display. Since a plasma display emits IR frequencies during use, it may cause interference. At this time, U-Verse cable boxes are not compatible.

  • newegg Self-Contained package Includes one IR repeater block, one IR receiver, two dual IR emitters, and an AC adapter. You may mount a receiver in a convenient place on or near your entertainment system. The receiver has a 9-foot cable that is then attached to the repeater system that is mounted in your entertainment cabinet. The kit includes four emitters. These emitters are connected to the repeater system and placed over the IR receiver of the equipment. The IR repeater is designed for mounting on a shelf or wall.
  • newegg Expandable The IR repeater block features a total of six emitter jacks to control as many as twelve devices. Two dual IR emitters are included for control of four components.
  • newegg Reception Indicator The IR receiver and IR repeater have blinking blue LEDs to confirm reception of the IR signal.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like you need it to

Pros: Allows you to make your bulky components disappear off of your cabinet top and allows you to put them behind the cabinet doors. This kit has long thin wires to do the job.

Cons: only comes with 2 sets that will repeat to 4 devices. The control module holds more than 2 sets.

Other Thoughts: Don't forget that you will need a hole saw kit to cut your holes in the back of your cabinet for the wires to travel(to the power, receiver eye ball, and to the speakers). The receiver eye ball should be stuck on the rim of the Monitor. If that is impossible, stick it to the side on the cabinet face in line sight of the couch.....make sure that you can run the cable to it, then hide it.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: I purchased this to run my sound system in a cabinet when i wall mounted my TV. The wire for the sensor is long enough to get the job done without being too long to be able to work with. the adhesive on the IR transmitters is rather strong so it won't come off easily.

There are extra ports on the control box to allow for connection of additional transmitters, though it comes with the capability to attach to 4 devices.

There is a Blue LED that flashes to let you know that the IR receiver is actually receiving the signal from your remotes. The receiver also comes with adhesive on it to mount to the TV chassis.

Cons: I found that the blue LED was rather annoying so I mounted the receiver to the back side of the TV. To do this i had to purchase my own 2sided tape to make this happen as the adhesive to the receiver was already placed.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works with every remote I had and that's including my Logitech harmony one. Performs was on par with my other IR repeater from Zantech which much more expensive. I would highly recommend it for a budget system.

Cons: Feels flimsy and cheap. Duh it is. Also, the IR eye is bunky not like the Zantech which is slim and pretty. Only had it for a week so far, so I cant comment about durability yet. *cross finger*

Other Thoughts: I'm quite surprise at this little gem. Even if I'm not sure how it'll last, for the price i'll still buy me another. lol

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine for 2 years

Pros: - easy installation
- compact.

Cons: - none so far

Other Thoughts: This device allowed me to move all equipment (receiver, DVD-player, computer) to the basement and have very clean "on wall" TV installation with single Logitech Harmony 880 Remote controlling everything.

1 out of 5 eggsDON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Pros: None

Cons: The receiver cannot pick up signal from my chair which is 6 ft. from the thing I have to get up and put the remote about 15 in. to get it to change the channel, and the ends of the wired outputs are made of cheap brittle plastic and can break just trying to move them

Other Thoughts: none

1 out of 5 eggsCaught on fire - died.

Pros: Until last Sunday, this product performed flawlessly. It really made my installation work well.

Cons: Last Sunday, the receiver box that sticks to the TV caught on fire, melted, and burned a hole in my TV. Upon inspection, it seems there are no safety devices such as a fuse anywhere in the equipment. The receiver box actually is the logic portion on the device, as the large distribution box that would logically contain this stuff is actually pretty empty inside. Looks like something let go in the logic circuitry, then drew WAY too much current and fire ensued.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Perfectly

Pros: Installed between bedroom and family room to remotely control TiVo. I installed wall plates with 3.5mm jacks and ran CAT-5 between the two rooms. I stuck the IR receiver on the side of a blu-ray player in the bedroom and stuck the blaster to the shelf right in front of the TiVo in the family room.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: It works perfectly!
