5 out of 5 eggsGood Stuff

Pros: Picture quality is excellent but narrow reception band (read that to mean it needs to be well aimed). First unit was bad from the box, Hisgadget bent over backwards to resolve the issue by sending a free replacement..

Cons: First unit was bad from the get go - no signal what-so-ever. Replacement unit works fine.

Other Thoughts: Hisgadget gets a gold star from this customer.

1 out of 5 eggsrotor broken

Pros: Worked great for a week. Got 35 channels.

Cons: Rotor stopped turning so I can't aim it correctly. It somehow turned by itself so I tried to position it with the rotor. It turned twice then stopped turning (of course pointed in the wrong direction). Some of my channels come from different directions so without the rotor it's useless.

Other Thoughts: I should have been suspect of the quality at such a low price. I installed an antenna of a different make on my other house and it has worked flawlessly for over a year. Now I have to buy a good antenna and worse yet get back on the roof to install it. Does this thing have any warranty?

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Reception

Pros: I installed this antenna last night. Was extremely simple to assemble. Everything just clicked together. I installed mine in our attic. Replaced a flat antenna and our reception went from weak to 100% reception. Couldn't be happier. Havent checked to see how many total channels we get yet. We could receive 21 with our flat one.

Cons: Rotation is "Sloppy". But serviceable. Not enough to lose an egg over for sure.

Other Thoughts: I have this antenna hooked up to 2 Silicon Dust network tuners and using Windows media center as my DVR. It is working great and we dumped the cable/sat companies charging for what we can get over the air and through the internet for free!

5 out of 5 eggsHigh definition outside TV antenna

Pros: This antenna is light in weight and easy to assemble. I have been using this antenna since February, and have made several modifications to the original installation. It is mounted to the side of my house approximately 15 feet from the ground, originally I had installed a 10 foot section of pipe to the antenna. With this configuration I was able to pull 22 TV stations. I live in Harrington Delaware which is approximately 70 line of sight miles from Philadelphia and approximately 30 miles from Salisbury Maryland. We are approximately 65 miles from Baltimore. Using the described configuration all the channels were quite clear and sharp, they appeared as good or better than my Comcast signal. When the antenna was pointed to Philadelphia I could still pull the Salisbury stations from the backside of the antenna with clear and acceptable pictures. But pointed toward Salisbury I cannot pull Philadelphia.
This weekend I modified the configuration by including a vintage archer rotor. We also raised the antenna approximately 7 more feet. At this new heights I pull 51 channels all are perfectly clear and sharp. I installed the archer rotor because of the limitations of the built-in antenna rotor.

Cons: The main disadvantage of this antenna combination is the rotor controls. The rotor will not reverse until it travels to its turnaround limits and then it will drive back the opposite direction. This makes it extremely difficult to accurately point the antenna to the television transmitting antenna. The way I did it was with someone holding the control button while I was outside with my compass trying to get the bearing to the transmitter. Fortunately here in Harrington all the TV transmitting antennas are in a relatively closely packed area so you just have to get close to receive all the channels from that area.
The second problem I found was when I did the initial installation I could always received 12 channels, when I tried the second output from the amplifier I received 22 channels. When I called tech support they told me it was normal for their amplifiers to have two different strength outputs.

Other Thoughts: My neighbor has purchased a similar antenna from this vendor and we install the last week. Is only up 10 feet above his roof line but he still pulls 22 TV stations.
I would recommend these antennas to any one who would like to try over the air TV reception.

2 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: It works, sort of.....
UHF channels came in pretty well.

Cons: The rotor has an amazing amount of "slop" in the mechanism.
The VHF sensitivity is very poor. (yes, we have 3 channels on VHF)
To call it flimsy is being nice.

Other Thoughts: It was cheap to buy and I can't say I expected wonders......

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well.

Pros: Good reception and range. Rotator is simple but functional. Price is GREAT!
I live 40 miles and 48 miles from local stations and 60 miles in the opposite direction for another. Get those and their sub-channels fine. PBS station farther away is a little weak. This from a height of only 15 feet from the ground.

Cons: Ordered 2 and one quit after a week. They supplied a replacement amp and remote promptly without hassle. Thanks for good customer service. Now both work fine.

Other Thoughts: Great product for the price. Mount as high as reasonably possible for best reception. In my location, I get a total of 11 channels. Your results WILL vary.

3 out of 5 eggsNo size listed.

Pros: See cons.

Cons: The listing does not tell the size of the antenna.

Larger antennas collect more electromagnetic energy, and therefore provide a much greater signal.

It is necessary to know the size of an antenna to make a sensible decision about buying it.

A small antenna cannot possibly deliver a signal as well as a larger one. That's a law of Physics. If the antenna is "150 miles" away, it might need to be 10 or 15 feet wide.
