3 out of 5 eggsGood for most cases.

Pros: Nice signal with direct line of sight. Good range capability.

Cons: Like all TV antennas, clear direction is key. Wet trees and hills render this less effective without a reasonably unobstructed view. Somewhat flimsy. Rotor system is unpredictable for consistent directional finding.

Other Thoughts: We only have one direction to get our broadcast signal. Wouldn't recommend this if you have multiple directions to reach.

4 out of 5 eggsworks well, but not as designed

Pros: works well, especially for the price
light weight
no power required at the antenna (power box designed to be indoors with power supplied in the cable)
cable is long enough for most applications
designed to work with 2 TV's (though not used in our application)

Cons: The antenna does not come with a mast. This was a little bit of a surprise because the instructions clearly show a mast. Plan on about $25 at Lowes or Home Depot for a decent mast.

Other Thoughts: We purchased the antenna from an email Flash promo. I didn't expect much, especially after reading the reviews. I was pleasantly surprised to find how well the antenna works. We aren't using the motor on it, because it did not work horizontally. Instead, we mounted it vertically in our attic. I don't know how many channels it brings in, because it really doesn't matter. What does matter is that the 4-5 channels we do watch come in clearly. With this antenna our mantle no longer has an ugly and outdated rabbit-ears on it.

5 out of 5 eggsReally worth the price.

Pros: I live about 65-70 mi outside of DC in the stix, and this thing gets all of the channels from both DC and Baltimore when you have it pointed directly - about 70-75 channels. I was going to mount it in my attic, but never got it out from behind the couch as it works so well there. Amazing gain over the flat antennae, and I was amazed how many channels we get in HD format now as well. I pick up channels in 14 different languages (Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Turkish, Russian. Portuguese, Swedish... the list goes on), didn't know there were so many channels on the open airwaves. Sometimes I have to check to be sure it's not pointing up at the satellites.

Cons: Directional, so you may need to adjust as necessary. Gain and pickup work so well, you might not want to adjust it.

Other Thoughts: Recently this was damaged by my kids playing some kind of Pirate scenario, and even with 2 tines missing, it still picks up like a champ. I was really mad until I tuned in and found all of the channels still there. I don't care at this point... still works like a champ!

1 out of 5 eggsHow do you say piece of junk in Chinese?

Pros: Add photo looks good. Cool design if it worked. Compact design made for interesting packaging.

Cons: Inferior materials. Rotary drive did not work. No improvement in signal. FM was worse than my home made folded dipole.

Other Thoughts: Thought I'd take a chance with the sale price deal. If it worked as advertised I would have a nice antenna at a great price, boy was I wrong. Don't waste your money.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: There is one local university station I can pick up with a passive antenna. This lets me get two network stations that are 40-50 miles away. Can't get the other two though.

Cons: As another reviewer wrote, the power supply can be noisy. There is an easy fix though. The power transformer inside the unit is in a metal mounting bracket with bend-over metal tabs. If the tabs are loose, the transformer vibrates against the bracket causing the hummmmmming sound.

Do at your own risk:
Unplug the power supply from the wall. Remove the screws from the bottom of the case. The transformer is held in place with 2 screws; remove them. Using a pair of slip-joint or channel-lock pliers, gently squeeze the metal tabs around the transformer until everything is tight on all sides and it doesn't rattle anymore. Screw the transformer back in place, put the cover back on, plug it in, and notice that now it doesn't make any humming/rattling sounds!

5 out of 5 eggsReception seems better than my previous antenna.

Pros: Easy to assemble.

Cons: Does not come with a pole to mount it on.

Other Thoughts: I have used this for a month and so far so good. Does rotate when needed but I set it in the direction where all my channels are coming in clear except KCAL 9 and I don't watch that channel so its all good. I live about 50 miles South East of L.A. in a community known as Temescal Valley in South Corona nestled behind a medium mt range known as the Cleveland National Forest so for this antenna to pull signal over the range from Downton LA is impressive.
