3 out of 5 eggsWorks but install was not as smooth.

Pros: Once paired it worked perfectly! No issues with disconnecting and the battery indication was accurate.

Cons: Driver install from CD did not work at all. Had to manually install the drivers myself. Sometimes has some difficulty pairing. I've had to remove and reinstall the USB connector a few times to get it to work.

Other Thoughts: At the end of the day it does what it is supposed to but takes some work to actually get it operating correctly.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does exactly what it is supposed to do.

Cons: Minor con is you have to download the drivers but you were probably going to do that anyway.

Other Thoughts: Setup was very easy but it wasn't plug-and-play. A quick search will get you up and running in no time.

4 out of 5 eggsNot official MS product..

Pros: Does not work out of the box, dont bother with the install cd it comes with (this is for win7 64bit)

Cons: No clue who makes this or where to download drivers, but another review helped me so Ill paste it here for others to see as well...

Other Thoughts: This worked fine for win7 64bit, thanks to Chris G. whom posted this:

Instructions for installation:
1. Plug it in
2. Go to Device Manager and find the "unknown device" with a question mark
3. right-click the device, choose Update Driver
4. Browse my computer
5. Let me pick from a list
6. in Win 8, the right choice is all the way at the bottom of the list, called Xbox 360 peripherals
7. Choose Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows
8. It will complain that the driver is not verified or something - just click through
9. Once done, click the button on the dongle and the sync button on the controller - should display upper-left quadrant on the controller's light ring as having connected

3 out of 5 eggsGreat for someone knowledgeable!

Pros: -3ft cable (too long in my case)
-Connected to my black controller just fine
-came in 7 days
-was well packaged
-there is no lag between when you press something on the controller and when it happens on the screen. Works just as fast as what is in an actual Xbox.

Cons: When I first got it, the installation disk it came with was a piece of junk. The installation drivers only installed the software for the receiver but not the actual drivers that told the computer what to do with the receiver. For that I had to search the web for some forums with links that gave me a download (I was skeptical because it wasn't the original drivers from the Manufacture website, which I couldn't connect to) I decided to download the file and install the drivers to my receiver which was listed as an unknown device in my device manager in the control panel. I hit: Update driver, selected the one I downloaded after placing it on my desktop and it installed and worked perfectly. My control connect perfectly and everything is still working a month later.

Other Thoughts: Im sorry I cannot provide the link for the correct driver downloads. I found them over a month ago before I decided to write this review and cannot find it. It only took me about 30 minutes to find it. If you have the time you should be able to find the driver.

I took off 2 eggs because of the disk and driver issues, but it got 3 eggs because that was no problem for me and once I got them working, it worked great!

4 out of 5 eggsIt works, just install drivers proper-style

Pros: Was cheap and lets me use my 360 controller on my computer.

Cons: Sometimes forgets driver after reboot and needs to be reminded.

Other Thoughts: I have used this successfully on Win 7 and Win 8 - in each case, Windows will fail to identify the device on its own, but the drivers are already present on the machine.

Instructions for installation:
1. Plug it in
2. Go to Device Manager and find the "unknown device" with a question mark
3. right-click the device, choose Update Driver
4. Browse my computer
5. Let me pick from a list
6. in Win 8, the right choice is all the way at the bottom of the list, called Xbox 360 peripherals
7. Choose Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows
8. It will complain that the driver is not verified or something - just click through
9. Once done, click the button on the dongle and the sync button on the controller - should display upper-left quadrant on the controller's light ring as having connected

Occasionally I had to repeat these steps after a reboot, but just takes a sec once you know what you're looking for.

3 out of 5 eggsFix Instructions

Pros: It works, but you need to fix it first. I think that it might just be able to plug and play on 32 bit Os's but for those with 64 bit os's it takes some work

Cons: IT DOESN'T WORK OUT OF THE BOX ON 64 bit Win7.
FIX IS BELOW

Other Thoughts: THIS IS THE FIX FOR 64x:

Right click on Computer

Go to Properties

Click on Device Manager

Right click on the Unidentified Device
(to determine which device, simply unplug and re
plug, it will disappear and reappear.)

Go to Properties

Go to the Drive tab

Click on Update Driver…

Browse my computer for driver software

Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

1 out of 5 eggsWorthless

Pros: ...... moving on...

Cons: The receiver doesn't seem to work with Windows 7 64bit. The setup file on the included disk is meant for a 32bit OS. Although it has what looks like 64bit related files deeper in the directory. You immediately get a message saying the program is blocked, and you're directed to download updated software from Microsoft.com which doesn't work. When installed, it won't associate it's self with the receiver. I've tried manually navigating to both the program folder and the folders on the included CD to install the driver and nothing works. I even tried the online auto search via Windows update.....nada....

Other Thoughts: I'd send this thing back, but I would just about cost me the $11 I paid for it. So in the trash it goes.... I should have just tried my luck with a wired controller.

It's been a perfect end to a less than perfect day.

5 out of 5 eggsworking

Pros: Best thing you can get for your wireless xbox 360 controllers just make sure you have the latest driver.

Cons: I let my neighbor borrow it and he has not asked if I would like it back yet...
