5 out of 5 eggsEDIT FOR PREVIOUS REVIEW

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLT4G3D1869DT1TX0

Pros: See my other review for my full list of pro's!

Cons: Not entirely stable at higher than rated frequencies?

Other Thoughts: Turns out that this stick is not entirely stable at 2133mhz as it causes crashes occasionally with both games and windows. I apologize for not waiting to see if the RAM was stable at those speeds. That is all.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLT4G3D1869DT1TX0

Pros: Very nice stick of RAM. It is incredibly stable at higher than rated frequencies, I currently have one of these running at 2133mhz in my APU build and i haven't ran into any stability issues and it is fairly cool while it's overocked. The stick itself is very good looking and the heat spreader is very effective.

Cons: None so far.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work at rated speed

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLT4G3D1869DT1TX0

Pros: Works reliably at 1333 MHz.

Cons: Does not work reliably at 1866 MHz. I am using the memory with a Core i7 4960X processor which is rated to use 1866 MHz memory, i.e. it's not considered an overclock on this platform. However, I experienced unreliable system operation and crashing when running the memory at its rated speed. I am now using the memory at its highest JEDEC rated speed of 1333 MHz without issue apart from reduced system performance. I consider this a classic bait and switch from Crucial as they are selling memory that is overclocked out of the box when 1866 MHz rated memory does in fact exist.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLT4G3D1869DT1TX0

Pros: It works. First started at 1333mhz, then OC'd to 1866 for the advertised speed and for the better fps on my APU.
(Well for my friend's apu, it's his computer)

Cons: None really. If you don't mind the yellow color.
I mean isn't crucial's color scheme blue? USE BLOO

Other Thoughts: Get it if you are considering getting another stick for 8gb.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Speed

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLT4G3D1869DT1TX0

Pros: good price (bought it black friday), fast, heat spreader not just for show, looks pretty well under load

Cons: wish it was cheaper, like maybe free? There were some hiccups during stress testing but no more than you would expect

Other Thoughts: puts my corsair sticks to shame....

5 out of 5 eggsGood Ram

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLT4G3D1869DT1TX0

Pros: Worked first time no extra config needed. Just plugged it in and everything was good. Passed all of the burn-in memory tests and memory diagnostics.

Cons: Cheap heat spreader. Seriously these things on either side of the PCB feel like super thin aluminum.

Other Thoughts: Good Price and Good Performance. Even though the heat spreaders on the side are weak and flimsy Im not knocking off for it since the price of the ram is cheap and cant expect a lot.

5 out of 5 eggsGood RAM, No complaints

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLT4G3D1869DT1TX0

Pros: Was picked up by mobo at correct timings and speed.
Runs great, no complaints.

Cons: None so far. Will update if any arise.

Other Thoughts: Purchased these 12/2/13 during the holiday craze at a great price. Got 2 sticks for $65 here at Newegg. Can't argue at that price and so far they've worked like they are supposed to.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat for budget builds, always leaves expansion as an option

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLT4G3D1869DT1TX0

Pros: Good latency for an 1866 stick

4GB is exactly the right amount of RAM for a little HTPC right now

Using a single stick makes upgrading later a breeze.

Cons: Using a single stick means you're unable to fully utilize a motherboard with dual-channel RAM slots.

Other Thoughts: I've put one of these into three sub-$400 A4 APU systems now. All of them more than meet the requirements of the people who use them. This chip admirably performs the double-duty of RAM and VRAM required for low-end APU desktops.

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLT4G3D1869DT1TX0

Pros: Runs at advertised specs this ram is sick I have this paired with a 4770k zero problems.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: When I first installed the ram it was running at 1300mhz. I had to set the bios to xmp to run at 1866mhz
