5 out of 5 eggsSolid

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: With the discount and rebate I got this for less than most of the high end air coolers on the market. It was a no brainer decision.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsNo complaints at all

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: I did not have any issues installing this cooler in a HAF 932 cooling an AMD FX-9370 sitting on an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 with plenty of room to spare. I left the top 230mm fan mounted as is, mounted the radiator under the fan, then mounted the 2x120mm fans under the radiator. The 230mm is pulling from the radiator and the 2x120mm fans push into the radiator. No issues whatsoever with fan connectors because I researched ahead and purchased a splitter to connect the 2x120mm fans to a single fan header (CPU_FAN) and the water pump has it own header (CPU_OPT). I don't have issues with excess noise. I also run my rig 24/7 since the day it was conceived. The only thing to make sure is using the right screws for mounting the radiator and fans. One set of screws is slightly longer than the others. I used the longer screws to mount the radiator to the top grill, under the 230mm fan. Then the shorter ones to mount the 2x120mm to the bottom of the radiator. The shorter screws will not reach far enough to mount the radiator under the 230mm to the top of the case. The existing holes in the top grill for the optional 120mm fans to replace the 230mm fan line up perfectly.

Cons: None to date. As I stated in the pros section, I run my rig 24/7 with no concerns at all.

Pros: Easy to Install

Rubber Mounting Bracket

Cons: Only 2 Year Warranty

Gets insanely loud at high RPMs

Other Thoughts: Wow. Just wow, this cooler is amazing.
I bought it on Newegg in June while it was on sale for $56 after mail-in-rebate. All other AIO 240mm water coolers cost at least $100, so already this is almost half the price of others.

I had heard that mounting the Corsair H100i was very difficult, and a lot of people were having problems with mounting it properly, and temperatures not being good as a result. So I opted for the Cooler Master AIO instead, and at half the price, it was a no-brainer. Everywhere I have researched had exceptional reviews for this cooler, Frostytech.com even named it the #3 AIO on the market.

Here are my system specs:
i5-4670k - 4.7Ghz @ 1.275v
Asus Z87-A Motherboard
G.Skill RAM 2400Mhz, 10-12-12-31, 1.65v, 8GB(4GBx2)
EVGA GTX 780 SC w/ ACX Cooler @ 1110Mhz
Phanteks Enthoo Pro Chassis
EVGA SuperNOVA 850W G2 Power Supply
5x Cougar Vortex 120mm PWM Case Fans
1x Phanteks SP 140mm Case Fan

The temperatures are incredible, as I am writing this my hottest core is 26C, and I have my fans and pump at a silent 800rpm. The stock fans go all the way up to 2400rpm, and the pump goes as high as 1450rpm. I haven't felt the need to upgrade the stock fans, although that is certainly an option, and many people will prefer to do that, just be sure to buy static pressure optimized fans when using them on a radiator.

Anywhere from 600-1400rpm the stock fans are very quiet, once you reach 1600rpm and above, it does get loud. At the maximum 2400rpm it is so loud that you can hear it in other rooms. I don't have the need to run it at above 1400rpm because the temperatures are so good already, and I typically have the fans at either my 800rpm or 1200rpm presets. I did ramp it up to maximum just to run some stress tests and to see how much performance this cooler really gives, and it is impressive if you can get past the noise.

When gaming, I am most comfortable running it at 1200rpm on the Fans and 1000rpm on the Pump, it is nearly silent and the temperatures are amazing even with my robust overclock. At the 1200/1000 setting, playing BF4 my hottest core only reaches 52C, and that is the maximum, I am typically in the mid 40s during actual game play.

Since my motherboard comes with PWM Chassis Fan capabilities, I am able to control the speed of my fans and pump separately, and I actually prefer that this product doesn't come with its own software. Why would I need yet another program running at all times, taking up resources that tells me information that I already get from HWiNFO, or allows me to control fan speeds which I already do on my motherboard. For other people, who don't have a motherboard capable of controlling fan speed, this may be a negative for them.

All in all, I am incredibly pleased with my purchase, especially considering I paid half as much as the competitor's AIO. My only complaint is that it comes with a 2 year warranty compared to a 5 year warranty of the H100i.

5 out of 5 eggsNice and cool!

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: very quiet and keeps your system vary cool. the kit came with plenty of screws and brackets to mount to just about any motherboard thats out there. easy to install took about 20 mins

Cons: The radiator would not clear the ram chips on my motherboard. i had to make some modifications to may case to get it to fit. Not necessarily a flaw in this cooling system but just keep in mind when building that this radiator takes up some room. so go with a larger case

Other Thoughts: all in all this is a must for cooling your system. even if your not overclocking your system will run at its best.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: Works great it's very efficient. I ran it for a day to make sure it was working, then overclocked my 4770k to 4.4 Ghz. I never go over 60 degrees when under load.

Cons: The fans are loud and as far as I know I can't change the color of the blue LED to match with my red color scheme, not worth removing an egg because it works so great

4 out of 5 eggsInitial Impressions, installation, and product

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: It works well. AMD x6 1090T, idle at maybe 3-5°F over ambient. Rarely goes more than 20°F over ambient while gaming. For those who use Celsius, it idles at around 27-30, and topped out at 36°C under load. Which is quite good considering I live in Tx.

The product itself, looks good, and felt quite sturdy while installing, though a bit lighter than I'm use to. The AMD mounting system uses a standard metal AMD style backer plate, which is a definite plus in my book, as it goes a long way towards preventing board warping.. And the included mounting hardware was fairly comprehensive.

Cons: This isn't really a Con of the product. More of an issue with the combination of hardware.

Unable to be mounted in a push configuration, with a Corsair Graphite 600T Case. Though I get the impression, even if I'd gone with the H100i I was looking at, the situation would still be the same. The board layout on my ASRock 890fx Deluxe 4 has the cpu 12v input near the top edge of the board, this is close enough to the top of the case, to cause it to be in the way if fans are installed on the bottom side. The same issue occurs with the cpu fan headers, and especially with the RAM slots.

Since the board layout is fairly common on AMD systems, main issue being the RAM slots. The only way to rectify that situation would be for the case itself to be about 2-3 inches taller above the motherboard mount. Due to this, I was forced to install the fans externally, in a pull configuration. Seems to work well, but with the fans being outside of the case, they obviously are loud, and much easier to hear than normal.

My only other issue, was mounting the water block itself can be troublesome. It'd be almost impossible with the board installed in the case, without having an extra set of hands to hold the back plate, while engaging the spring screws on the brackets to the back plate. This of course could be made easier by a slight change in design of the mounting brackets, adding some short standoff lugs to secure the back plate to the board similar to how the Intel bracket works.

Other Thoughts: This is just an initial review. I'll post another if anything goes wrong. Though for right now, other than those cons, I don't see a whole lot wrong with this product. And it Definitely gets the job done well. Even in a non standard pull configuration.

1 out of 5 eggsGrand Canyon heatsink

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: Quite, thats about it

Cons: This heatsink on this is the least smooth thing I have ever seen in my entire life. It isn't shiny, it looks like the texture of a painted wall. I plan on returning this, I know how to apply thermal paste, and I KNOW that the heatsink shouldn't have a surface that looks this bad. Quite sad I was excited to have my first water cooler. Going to buy Noctura DH-14.

Other Thoughts: Now I get to pay a return fee, awesome.

4 out of 5 eggsInstall wasn't the easiest

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: Sleek design,
quiet running,
pricing,
keeping the system at a cool 26 degrees

Cons: Install instruction were lacking,
coolant lines are a little short,
was hard to fit, even in a full case

Other Thoughts: I finally had the time to install this.
I have a HAF X full case 942KKN1 and this beast was a pain to install, and barely fit! So if you have a smaller case, I strongly advise to reconsider on this.
Videos on youtube helped, but unless your case matches the ones depicted you're on your own to figure it out.
On my install I had to remove the top 200mm fan in order to get the setup to fit. I used the push configuration.
With the radiator placement positioned the the case's top fan compartment, it was a little stretch for the lines to make it to the CPU.
Also to mount the support bracket I pretty much had to remove the motherboard, since the HAF's window compartment was too small for the bracket to just pop in.

5 out of 5 eggsCM Seidon 240M CPU Cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Seidon 240M – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans

Pros: I am impressed with the quality and construction of the components of this CPU cooler. It has a massive cooling capacity and my CPU still has not reached 60 Celsius even under enormous overclock testing at full load. It is also nearly silent. Installed easily, even though it does require a large area to install.

Cons: When connecting the metal Seidon CPU block to the metal brackets underneath the motherboard - be sure to use non-conductive washers where the nuts and brackets touch the motherboard surface, as we did encounter an issue with the metal brackets shorting the motherboard and causing issues. Once I installed the washers (not supplied with the Seidon) everything has worked flawlessly.

Other Thoughts: I have notified Cooler Master and my motherboard manufacturer MSI of this issue.
