5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 140XL – Push-Pull CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 140mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Uses 140mm fans. Heavy coolant tubing. Quiet at low loads. Idles down fast. Got it on sale with rebate.

Cons: Not cheap. The heavy tubing can make it a challenge to get the heat sink attached to the brackets, which can make tim application a challenge. I've pulled the heatsink/pump off once to reapply tim. I got a better application the second time.

Other Thoughts: Very big radiator and fan combo. Which to install first: radiator/fan or the pump/heatsink? Tried both. Think the pump/heatsink should go first. After you've fired up the system and gotten the cpu hot. The tubing changes and becomes easier to deal with.
I swapped out the stock fans for fhp-141 Silverstones. They make an even bigger rad/fan setup. If I were doing the install now, I'd look for a deal on the Noctua Ind. 3000rpm PWMs, but the Silverstone's work well. Make sure to plug the fans into mobo fan headers and setup in bios, makes these loud fans very tolerable and still keeps it nice and cool. Make sure the pump is run as close to 100% speed as possible for low idles, if you care. The numbers on the stock fans are not terrible, so keep that in mind. I got a good deal on the Silverstones.
If you're going from a big air cooler to this, space should not be much of an issue, if your case has 140mm mounts.
I suspect if you don't oc heavily that one fan would suffice to keep your cpu cool. Two probably is good for a degree or two at idle and maybe 5 degrees at high load.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product after it's installed

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 140XL – Push-Pull CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 140mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Keeps CPU at 16C ambient and 35 or so under load. Great for overclocking, attractive white glow around the water block, has the same cooling power has a bigger radiator and is compatible with 120 and 140 mm fan bays.

Cons: Very large, I have a HAF X by cooler master and it is a fairly large case but with the thick radiator along with the fans in push pull configuration make it hang out quiet a bit. Also the water block / pump is massive compared to similar water coolers. Difficult to install. Fans are extremely loud when not controlled.

Other Thoughts: Make sure your case has the size to deal with the large size.

I would also suggest installing the cooler with the motherboard out of the case because in my case the back plate wouldn't fit on the motherboard while in the case.

Also make sure you don't bend the radiator fins which is very easy to do.

I would also suggest a second person when installing the radiator too the case because you have to hold the radiator and the exhaust fan while trying to line up and screw everything together.

Then make sure you have the reservoir on the bottom of the radiator to make sure that if any air does get into the system it floats to the top of the radiator and doesn't get into the pump therefore increasing pumps life.

I would also suggest a fan controller either through the motherboard or an after market fan controller to control the noise because at full speed the fans are extremely loud. However now that I have my fan controller installed everything works perfectly and I have the ability to keep the noise under control while still maintaining temperatures.

I would also suggest an after market thermal paste if possible to increase the heat flow which keeps everything cooler. When applying the paste I choose a hybrid between the pea and X method for applying thermal paste, using a small pea in the middle which an X over it to try to get complete coverage of the CPU.

3 out of 5 eggsNice product but not too mush safe..

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 140XL – Push-Pull CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 140mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Very nice product, efficient, quiet most of the time.

Come with metal ''base'' unlike Antec 920 cooling device.

Cons: It's not my first installation of water cooling solution, i try to make it fit my Level 10 GT case and there is no way it can be put all inside. Like the instruction say you can put one of the two fan outside the box but there is no protect cage for the fan so if you have a animal or children touching it, it can hurt the thing in question.

The instruction manuel dosen't show correctly the right screw, you have to put on the copper side and it's the metal one and not the dark one.

If you want to put the fan outside of the case it's not safe but i strongly recommend to check if the screw are long enough, in my case only 2 can be connect to the case.

4 out of 5 eggsC.M. Nepton 140XL Push-Pull

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 140XL – Push-Pull CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 140mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: I did a great deal of review on the C.M. Nepton 140XL L.W. Cooling System and it seem to be what I needed. My case the is a Mid Tower Blackhawk, and it is a good size case. 140 mm fan ( six in all). A lot of space to work in.

Cons: The problem I had was not looking at the dimensions of the fans and Radiator. In my computer case the dimensions fit the 120mm C.M. cooling system. which I have on order. I had to return 140mm C.M. cooling system, because of the dimensions

Other Thoughts: In my computer case my dimensions fit a 120mm fan system. The dimensions for 140mm are (140x140x25) which is 6 1/8" x6 1/8"x1" in case 120mm would fit

5 out of 5 eggs140 XL

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 140XL – Push-Pull CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 140mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: very good cooler
1. fit perfect in my red/black thor v2 rear exhaust
2.keeps my fx 8150 idle at 14-19c and load at 38c oc'd to 4.5 ghz
3. the jetflow fans are awesome at penetrating the radiator. i also own 5 120 red led versions and they are loud ish but very worth it.
4. the radioator is very very thick but it makes it better

Cons: 1. wasnt free

Other Thoughts: i would purchase this item again in a heartbeat, worth every penny of my hundred dollars. if you are awanting a water cooler to oc very far and can support 140mm fans i would tell you to get this no questions asked.

3 out of 5 eggsPump whine, no response from Coolermaster

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 140XL – Push-Pull CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 140mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Keeps the factory clocked I7-3770k I have at 19c in a 68degree room, factory was at 38c, HUGE difference.

Cons: Loud high pitched pump whine, sent e-mail to Coolermaster tech support, no response, but then again I messaged Thermaltake for some screws and no response either, guess companys don't care like they used to.

Fans were horrible, very loud at 15xx RPM, I could not lower the fans anymore than that on my Sabertooth board. They were VERY loud. So I just re-used the factory 140 rear case fan on the thermaltake and it works great.

Considering returning as I have built a silent system and this pump whine is bad. Be nice if Coolermaster responded. No reviews I have found online complained about pump whine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooling system

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 140XL – Push-Pull CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 140mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Great set up and well thought out. With air and a Zalman CNPS9500A LED fan and heatsink I was getting temps of around 65 degrees Celcius while gaming. I am now getting maximum temps of 35 degrees Celcius while gaming.

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: I should have bought a 120mm system for my particular case (Thermaltake Ocverseer), but was able to adapt this to fit my case well.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing CPU Cooler. Wow!

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 140XL – Push-Pull CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 140mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: No other way to state this, other than to say this is the best CPU cooler I have ever owned, and I have owned many, many CPU coolers. This, Nepton 140, performs on par with some of the custom, large radiator, water cooling setups I've had. I'm almost speechless. As I am typing this, I'm running 8 threads of Prime 95 (small FFTs) with an AMD FX-9590 (220 watts), with a single 140mm fan (push configuration) set to ~1000 RPMs, and I cannot cannot break 65c. My computer is almost dead silent. I'm very, very impressed. This blows away any air cooler I've ever had. It's literally 10c better than my last closed loop water cooler, and it was a 240mm radiator version from a popular company that also makes RAM, and to be honest, that was a very good cooler. I've also owned the 240mm Coolermaster Siedon, cooler, and this leaves it in the dust. I'm not sure what sort of unicorn-magic-pixie-dust Coolermaster used when making this new waterblock, but it works.

Cons: No cons, just words of wisdom. This thing is large. It mounts to a 140mm (or 120mm) fan hole, but you need to keep in mind that the radiator it's self is much larger than 140mm. Clearance is needed, it's the size of a small car's heater core. You also need to think about the depth, plus a fan, or plus two fans if you run this in it's default push/pull configuration.

All the specs are listed, so if it doesn't fit, it's your fault, not Coolermasters. There are probably not many cases that this thing will plug into without some modification. I knew this going in. I've actually stuffed mine in the very front of a mid tower Coolermaster Storm case right under the single CDROM drive (zip ties are your friend). I put it there because although the Storm sports a pair of 140mm fans, the radiator is too large to simply "plug and play" into either one of those 140mm fan locations. Plus I wanted it to suck fresh air, not the hot air coming off of my R9s. You will probably need at least a full tower with 140mm fan locations to mount this without getting creative.

Also, I read a lot of these reviews on these types of coolers, and I wonder how many people tinker around in their BIOS with respect to fan speeds. With a closed loop cooler like this, you will need to plug in two fan headers. One for the pump, and one for the actual fan. If you plug the pump header willy-nilly into a random fan location on your motherboard you need to keep in mind that the fan header you use needs to be set to 100% operation, otherwise your pump may only run at 25, 50, or 75% of it's potential speed. Meaning it may not cool well, even if the actual radiator fan it's self is spinning at 100%. Personally, I run the pump off SYSFAN 1, and the actual fan off of the CPUFAN header, as most motherboards allow more tuning options with regard to CPU fan speeds.

Back on topic, the fans, when running at full speed are loud. I'm only running one on the radiator, but I have the other one running as a case fan. Hopefully your BIOS has some flexibility, like mine, in setting fan speeds. That said, keep them under 1200 rpms, and they are nearly silent.

Other Thoughts: I'm running an FX-9590. It might be the hottest running factory (non overclocked) CPU ever sold. I'm an AMD fanboy, and I will admit this inefficient thing puts off heat like a small nuclear reactor. It's stupid hot, and this cooler handles it with ease. If you are running an i5, i7, or any AMD CPU aside from the FX-9590 I cannot imagine a situation where this cooler wouldn't keep up...as long as you can find a place to stuff it.
