4 out of 5 eggsVery happy with this cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: This cooling system works very well and does as it is advertised to do.

Cons: The stock fans are noisy as hell and I swapped them out for Cougar CF-D14HB-B fans so this cost the product 1 egg.

Other Thoughts: All in all Im quite happy with this and even with the oc that Im doing with my cpu the cooler keeps up with it nicely. Im using a push/pull arrangement in the HAF X case that Im using and it seems to be working well. Im not the first and I wont be the last to comment on the noisy stock fans so Cooler Master should address this at some point though I doubt they will.

4 out of 5 eggsSlick, HUGE, and hot.

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: My knowledge on heat-sinks and radiators is extremely low, so don't take anything I state as a serious disadvantage.
The radiator fits in my 780T Full Tower pretty nice. I can't really say much since this is my first radiator, but it seems to do exactly what it claims.

Cons: The mounting screws were a bit odd and they didn't let me mount it to the top of my 780. the instructions weren't dumb-friendly. I youtubed some videos and it helped. The radiator blows a bit of hot air (i don't know if this is supposed to happen??)

Other Thoughts: Again, I'm not an expert. This is my first build, but I AM satisfied.

Pros: Went from Cooler master original Water cooler setup to this keeps a 5820k at 40-42 C while gaming . coupled with the Asus x99 went through extreme testing to 5.2 ghz then chickened out cause I didn't want fry the chip ... temp were 79C ... My last product lasted 5 years could have gone longer but decided to upgrade with new Technology and glad I did

Cons: Can't think of any

5 out of 5 eggsBUY IT

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: This cooler works very well. It is keeping my 3960x under 60 degrees @ 4.6 ghz @ 1.4 vcore while running prime95. Easy to install and not to loud.

Cons: none yet

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Lowered my temps about 10C compared to my Corsair H105. The Corsair kit was by far easier to install but with the CM kit lowering my temps 10C, it made the more 'difficult' install worth it.

Cons: A little loud but that didn't really bother me.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive & overwhelming

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: -size(con for some) and fin density

-thick/tough FEP tubing

-comes with PWM Y cable

-performance was better than my other heatsink(phtc14pe)

-pump illumination

-warranty(was 2 years, now extended to 5 years)

-30mm thick rad compared to 27mm on other 280mm AIO

Cons: -fans (round frames won't have best performance on these, replaced with noctua nf-a14 industrial 3000rpm)

-overwhelming size, may not fit very well with other cases.

-some pump whine but don't bother me, my fans are louder so no worries.

-some bent fins but didn't bother performance.

Other Thoughts: Had to go AIO after i realized the phtc14pe "towered" over my build. i was trying to show off the rest of the goodies(air 540, maximus vi formula, tridentx, 780ti classified SLI). replaced jetflo with noctua nf-a14 industrial 3000rpm. same sound output but better static pressure performance. gets like 150CFM and 10mm/h2o static in full speed.

cooled my i7 4790k 1.2v stock @ avg of 58-62 deg and 1.3v 4.6ghz @ avg of 70-74 deg. i have the noctua in push config and still thinking about placing the jetflo in pull but i don't think it will fit.

case fitment can be overwhelming but it makes it tidy compared when having a massive heatsink. FEP tubing is very tough, might be a con for some, it's thicker too. pump is like the size of a baby's fist so plan accordingly. swivel part of the tube, where the pump is, gets VERY close to the ram stick but depending on orientation. tubing is long enough too. not as long as kraken x60/x61.

i have this mounted on the top of the air 540. the screws that hold the rad are just the right size for my case. comes with 2 different thumbscrews for the fan to rad mounting. i wouldn't suggest using tools so you wouldn't strip it.

overall i'm pleased with this product. a little pump whine but unless you have your head in the case, you won't even hear it.

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Excellent and reliable cooler. Max temps now 37c when overclocking to 4. No failure of the pump or fans.

Cons: Big and you have to be careful of the case fitting- Check compatibility listings first. My case was not "compatible", (see below)

Other Thoughts: My rig: HAFF 632 case, ASUS Rampage Black with i7 4960, 64 of G.Skill ram, ASUS GTX 780Ti video cards in SLI, 4 hard drives and 2 SSHD,s.
Had to Purchase 4 extra long bolts with washers to attach the radiator below my top out vent fan, resulting in a push/pull configuration. The fans were noisy until I utilized the fan control program in the ASUS Motherboard software. Now quiet and cool even with heavy gaming and OC. Now- I am considering options for the video cards!

3 out of 5 eggs280L nepton cooler master liquid cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: keeps the OC cpu as cold as my ninja copper pipe metal fin oversized cooler did... does so with a lot better air flow inside the case for other peripherals

Cons: radiator doesn't really fit in my HUGE case because of thickness next to the motherboard USB 3.0 stack ... just drilled new holes moved it torwards the front of the case luckily the vent is a little oversized... the top of my vents in my case is 320 MM plus and it fits the radiator fine. the fans have to go on outside because of the thickness. very strange in this large case.

one of the "jetflo 140 mm" fans is SEMI DOA I have to spin it with my finger or tap on it already brand new for it to spin up

I imagine new egg or Coolermaster is going to tell me to RMA or something for the fan...

I am going to be saddened if they say I have to uninstall this behemoth and send ALL of it back. I have plenty of other fans

but the principle of the thing... you know?

Other Thoughts: better airflow for other accessories

3 out of 5 eggsNepton 280L

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: Very solid. Looks great. Relatively quiet.

Cons: The way the fans are mounted in the picture, the fan blades tend to sag downwards and the blades were actually hitting my CPU power cable/clip and hindering the blades from spinning. Had to flip them around and have fan house guards up against the clip so it wouldn't block it from spinning. So far so good. Definitely a tight fit even in my Cooler Master Storm Trooper.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is huge!!

This review is from: Cooler Master Nepton 280L – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 280mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Pros: This All-in-one is really huge. I bought this because its one of the few all-in-ones that out right says supports socket 775. This is a bandaid upgrade until I do a full system upgrade. The loop runs my core 2 quad q9400 OC'd to 3.66ghz on idle at 30c and 60c on full load. I feel like I can push my CPU further. I used to have a Zalman CNPS 9700 NT. It worked well. It ran the same overclock on my CPU on idle at 30c but on full load it was about 10c hotter.
Installation was easy too. but if you plan on putting this in an older case (e.g. CM 690 1st gen) you might need to do some modding (I had to drill some screw holes because the ones on this thing do not match the case fan holes on my PC. r
PS
It is also amazing how well this thing is performing considering that the way I set it up is not optimal. Since the thing barely fits my case I had to put the fans not on the inside of the case but on top of my case. so there is a bit more separation between the fan and the radiator than what there should normally be.

Cons: Too large for my case but its not really the part's fault. The fans are a too noisy for me when on full load. They do push allot of air. My friend has a Corsair H100 and the stock fans on those things pushed a lot of air and were nice and quiet.

Other Thoughts: I am planning on getting Noctua fans maybe on the next pay day.
