5 out of 5 eggsfast but with problems

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R

Pros: fast speed, nice heat sinks, nice over all build.

Cons: kept random crashing and restarting system. Turns out of testing and installing in another system, my old one. could hold stable. running at 2400 mhz. on ether board. thought it was the power supply with old system setup, thought it was video, thought it was a issue with Operating system, done and tryed everything i could think of, even pulled them out and re installed them back in to the sockets. and yet again, same thing happening. figured it a bad ship. sending back to Newegg for refund.
And i have been building systems for the last 10 years.
and this must be my worest year todate with issue, on memory chips morth boards, CPU`s, and SSD`s .. full static ground bench work area. covered with plastic counter top. and they went bad after about a month. sad great brand too ..

Other Thoughts: not worth time or effort for my part.
Should of gone back to Gskill .. but last chip set i had went bad with a bad stick .. this one dont have a clue as to why they are acting up ..

my system builds are NEVER over clocked, only stress tested and then left stock, from build to using ..

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic!

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R

Pros: Runs as advertised. Just make sure to enable XMP in your BIOS, or set your RAM up manually. I made sure to test the RAM before using my system, no errors or issues. Corsair has never let me down when it comes to the quality of their products.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Corsair stands behind their products. I would rather spend a little extra, and know that if anything should go wrong, that I will be taken care of.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair top of the line

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R

Pros: when it comes to memory, dont look any place else, go with Corsair. all the chips are tested un-like other company's say they are.
these chips are right out of the box and work awesome,
i had purchased Gskill chips in the past and on my last order that i had to return for RMA/refund. got these chips on the account of didnt want to take a chance of getting another set of bad chips. and wanted something more reliable so i went with Corsair, to fit my build more. i would of stayed with Gskill but after issue`s with bad chips on my last ones. didnt want the problems coming back again ..

Cons: there is none to talk about ..

Other Thoughts: wish the blue colored chips was this price and wish there was a rebate.

5 out of 5 eggsFast RAM with Good Looks

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R

Pros: Runs stable at the rated speed
Fastest RAM I've ever owned, makes the system very snappy
Plenty of capacity in the 8GBx2 kit, I've never gone above 50% usage
The heat spreader looks great

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Be sure to enable XMP mode in your BIOS or else your RAM will default to 1333Mhz! I'm sure you could overclock these modules very easily but I have no reason to so I have no experience there. I bought this kit for about $150 during the summer, seems like the price got jacked up again. Perhaps there are better deals available right now from different brands, but I have nothing but good things to say about this kit so you really can't go wrong here.

5 out of 5 eggsCORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R

Pros: Easy to install RAM
No external software required
Design goes along with my PC
Works with different manufacturer RAM cards

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: I accidentally pushed the RAM cards in too far when installing and my PC wouldnt boot. Simple solution: Take them out and put them back in. Be careful!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram runs st rated speed

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R

Pros: Set XMP2400 profile and it runs at rated speed and doesn't even get warm to touch like the dominator 1600 ram it replaced.

It looks great with the Asus Maximius VII it's installed in.

Cons: none

1 out of 5 eggsdisappointed in newegg

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R

Pros: None so far

Cons: I will update this once I receive my product but I am writing this to say that I am very disappointed by newegg, I started a new build and ordered my case and ram both at the same time 5 days ago, my case arrived yesterday but my ram just left the warehouse last night, they say there is a 1-2 day processing period but for me to get my ram it took them 5 days to ship it out. I was planing on having my build done tomorrow but now this sets me back to this weekend.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat High-Density, High-Speed, RAM

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R

Pros: This isn't the "highly binned' dominator RAM, but using XMP in my Maximus VII Gene's BIOS, I was able to get 11-13-13-31 2T. However, the result was my CPU spiking up to 1.312v. WIth a little knowledge on your RAM though, you can set the RAM at the desired speed and 2T, and keep your CPU voltages lower.

Additionally, this RAM served as the "VRAM" for my HD Graphics 4600 engine on my 4790K while I waited to order a GPU. Is it the fastest? No. But it was sufficient to drive my 4K monitor at 30fps for basic internet / home tasks. GPU-z states that it provides 38.4GB/s in bandwidth, which for those basic tasks is plenty.

It doesn't put TOO much stress on the CPU memory controller, as I ultimately got to 4.6GHz with 1.234v on my CPU (all 4 cores); thus it's the sweetspot for RAM speed to CPU OC, while allowing for z97-boards space for 16GB more RAM. Lastly, it doesn't interfere with my H220-x's dangling radiator.

It's also cheaper than DDR4, with lower latency, if that means anything :-D

Cons: the heatsinks - in particular the tops - are a bit loose. Be careful with handling. Also, they require a significant amount of force to insert into the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: There are two great applications for this ram kit. If you have an mITX board, then you can use this RAM to make a dense, but high-speed mITX rig that will be able to game, and do content creation without fear. If you use this in a system with 4 DIMM slots, it leaves 2 slots open for further expansion. (Ie: gaming, content creation, possible RAM drive.) The higher speed also means that if it is used with an IGP solution (either Intel HD Graphics, or ideally an AMD APU), there will be boosts in performance correlating to the ability to use that RAM on that particular format of chip.

I may buy a second kit to fill out the 32GB of RAM capabilities on my CPU.
