4 out of 5 eggsSolid low-end KVM

Pros: Nice unit, solid construction, haven't ran into any compatibility issues. Using it to switch between control computers for machinery.

Cons: Proprietary cables are a bit pricey, but space-saving.

Other Thoughts: This is a PS/2 KVM, even though USB cables are available, they are not for this unit. Do your reasearch, don't embarrass yourself claiming a 'high' tech knowledge and getting upset because it doesn't support USB. Most KVMs are still PS2 for compatibility.

Pros: Solid construction, nice steel bezel, good for cable management, smaller form factor due to custom cable design

Cons: Hey Tripp Lite it's 2009 and this unit DOES NOT SUPPORT USB KEYBOARD OR MOUSE? That makes this unit a joke and a wonder that it ever got past design let alone into production. ESPECIALLY since there are two different cable sets you can get, one that is PS2 for KB and MS and one that is - drum roll pls - USB. Makes no sense.

Tripp lit says it MIGHT work with a USB to PS2 adapter but that did not work in my case.

Now I have 4 sets of useless cables plus the switch and it will only work if I have a P22 Mouse. Are u kidding me?

Other Thoughts: Discontinue this item or be sure to make note of these serious shortcomings.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid construction

Pros: Very nice brushed steel design. Switches have positive action and audible click. Solid heft to it. Works like it's supposed to.

Requires special cables but that's a pro because it assists cable management and allows the KVM switch itself to be smaller: the PS/2 leads are incorporated into the KVM plug so you only plug one lead into the KVM.

Cons: Special cables are pricey.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent KVM

Pros: -Can control which computer it's displaying with the keyboard
-Steel contruction, solidly built
-Just works

Cons: -Uses Nonstandard KVM cables

Other Thoughts: This KVM has a bunch of other nice features that are outlined in the manual, but I cant remember them right now.

4 out of 5 eggsHave to buy cables separately

Pros: Tripp Lite generally makes good equipment. I'd be tempted to buy one of these on that basis.

Cons: You have to buy the special KVM cables separately, and that could double the price of the unit. Newegg has them.

Other Thoughts: Haven't bought one yet. I was surprised by the lack of (pricey) cables, and thought other folks should know about it before they buy. Check out the manufacturer's link for info.
