4 out of 5 eggsExcellent, so far!

Pros: This new unit is quite nice. Surprisingly, the LCD screen really impressed me. There are pre-loaded nifty little in-game data jewels that pop up on it for various games. Teamspeak3 has a cool app for it to that tells you who is speaking in channel and other things. I like it!

The MACRO programmable G Keys are quite thoughtful, as well. I have worked out a few wordy in-game chat messages that I can send without typing in-game and that is quite handy!

So far, I am very happy with this purchase. It was a little pricey for not having all the options I have outlined below in cons, but overall a solid gaming keyboard.

Cons: I am having to get used to typing with the higher rise keys, but I am getting there. The keys are quite responsive for gaming, but my fingers/hands do still seem to tire a bit after many hours of gaming, That is to be expected, I suppose, no matter what one uses in the way of a keyboard.

The back-lighting schemes are cool, but I kind of wish that there was an option to change independent 'zones' of the board to different colors (as is possible with Alienware Commander software).

The Caps Lock and Number Lock keys should have active indicator LEDs built into them (they do not). One must look tot he top right of the board for these indicators.

Other Thoughts: I am a long time gamer, engineer, and hardware junkie. This keyboard was purchased in the hope that it would be a good update from an older wireless Logitech K800 which I passed onto my hubby.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Lighting: Awesome backlighting. It gives a nice soft uninvasive glow and you can make it any Color you want.

Noise: Due to the membrane layout, this keyboard is very quite. Great for people who have thier system set up close to loved ones, not so great for people who want tactile feedback and the infamous clack you here with mechanical keys

LCD Display: This is a niche thing here, its awesome for people who write thier own applets, not so hot for people who are expecting a huge amount of support for it. A lot of Major publishers do support this screen with useful information like stats and maps depending on the game you are playing, but the majority of publishers do not support this, but you can write your own apps for it. Its an awesome idea, i cant count this aginst the keyboard, but i cant really count it for it either. More of a preferance thing i suppose.

Macros: Yes, this is a big one. This key board does sport 12 macro keys and can support up to 6 buttons simultaneously. It may be a little higher but i know for sure 6. If you use macro's at all, this or the g510s will be your best bet if you do not have an advanced gameboard (Think Nostromo, G13, ect...)

Profile Switching: Up to 3 seperate profiles for games, now ill clarify this for people out there, this means you can have all of your games stored in 1 profile, but you could build multiple profiles with seperate layouts for the same game. This kind of feature comes in handy when playing 4x games, and games like battlefield. You can change the layout depending on what you are doing for that moment. So one minute your running and gunning in your squad and the next your driving a tank through the streets, you could set up 2 profiles one for run n gun the other for driving, within the same game and the profile switch is a button away.

Design: It looks good no matter where you put it and with the right backlighting can compliment any set up.

Media Keys: Dedicated media keys are a big plus for me, im a movie kinda guy, and having physical keys makes everything much easier on me, like volume, or pause. you get the idea.

USB Ports: This keyboard has 2 powered usb pass through ports. 2.0 interface.

Size: Im a 6'5" guy and my hands are huge, this keyboard accomodates them very well for long gaming sessions. The wrist rest is very cozy as well.

Cons: Price Tag: This keyboard is a $199.00. This is high for your average Keyboard, especiall if you want Mechanical Keys this might be a bit hard to choke down. I cant knock an egg of for the high cost though because it does have a Full Color screen attached to it. You know exactly what you are getting into here.

Construction: I wish the keyboard was not all plastic. Would be nice to see some aluminum and some weight to it. Thats a personal preferance though and i cant take an egg when i already knew it was all plastic. That being said the keyboard does stay in place. I cant say that weight would really change anything about this board other than make it feel better quality overall.

External Power Source: Everyone complains about this. If you dont want external power for your keyboard and find this to be stupid, then this is not the board for you. The screen is good quality though, so dont mark it off just because it requires some extra juice.

Keys: They feel like mush compared to the old mechanical i used to use, but ill take the quite keys over all else right now anyways.

Other Thoughts: I love the keyboard. You cant ask for much more as a gamer or professional. Some people have certain preferances though that may turn them off to that.

1 out of 5 eggsGood for parts/Learning to use the trash bin.

Pros: -Back-lighting of nearly any color you want.
-Multiple memory profiles.
-On board memory to store profiles.
-Many different functions of the LCD display

Cons: -LCD Stops working and causes the rest of the keyboard, except the function to type, to stop working.
-They didn't fix the problem from the G19 with the G19s. Its inherited.

Other Thoughts: I had a G19 but had to RMA it because it was having an issue where the LCD would cause the keyboard to malfunction. Sometimes the screen would cause a crash like symptom while in use and you cant use the profiles or the macros and the LCD would start flashing.

I RMA'd it and got back a G19s.Later on i now see it inherits the same problem as the G19. It seems to be a wiring issue with the wiring harness in inside the keyboard. Most likely that its over stretched which can happen when you tilt the screen So keeping it stationary will help keep it working for longer.

DO NOT BUY. Unless you need to part it out for some project of yours or you want to learn electronic recycling by doing it yourself. The only use this keyboard has is typing and charging a device with the USB ports. You cant even use the USB ports for viewing your device. Its dependent on the LCD screen working.

AGAIN. DO NOT BUY FOR THE INTENDED GAMING PURPOSE. Get something else that works.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very nice keyboard; comfortable design; backlighting with color customization; has 2 USB slots to plug in additional devices; sturdy design; has macro programming.

Cons: Not really a "con", but I've found that sometimes letters don't register as you're typing (I'm not sure if I just got a defective keyboard or if it's a driver issue so took 1 egg).

Other Thoughts: This keyboard does require a power outlet, as it uses a power supply to power the USB ports and LCD screen. So far I have loved it - and it's sturdy design has held up under daily gaming.

2 out of 5 eggsG19s

Pros: Very nice, sturdy keyboard that is very versatile.

Cons: Since day one the CAPS LOCK indication light has been stuck on. The LCD display..... is not supported at all. The applet package that comes with the keyboard for the LCD is worthless junk.

Other Thoughts: When I got the keyboard it was on sale... I wish I spent the money on something else. It is far from worth $200 considering the LCD has zero support.

1 out of 5 eggsNice keyboard if it would last

Pros: Key layout is very nice and buttons feel solid. Screen is a nice gadget and lot of plugins are available such as TS and others. Extra key programming is a plus for game options or for certain desktop functions.

Cons: This was a replacement for my previous G510 that had a couple of button issues. This keyboard worked solid for a while but now right side keys are sticking (no coke spills in my office) and I have to wait 2 seconds after pushing the left caps button so it releases caps. If it wasn't sitting on my nice glass desk I would beat the * of it and hate using it now.

2 out of 5 eggsDesigner Crazy

Pros: Excellent concept - the ability to use the macro keys to store passwords, etc
Multi-functional display
Intuitive macro software

Cons: Extremely poor font/design used for shift characters - !, @, #, etc. They are hard to make out on the keyboard.
Macros are not downloaded onto the keyboard and are therefore only available once the OS has loaded. I would have liked to store my Microsoft log-on password for example.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat when it works!

Pros: I love the keyboard layout. It feels good to type on. The Media controls are nice to have and I use the large Volume control all the time! It's also cool that you can change the Keyboard keys to pretty much whatever color you want. At least most of them. I just not into Macro's but thee's a lot of buttons for that kind of thing. 12 keys on the left side and you can have 3 different ones per key using the M1/M2/M3 buttons. The color screen is nice. I generally use it for a Clock or CPU load meter, etc. Why watch a youtube video on that tiny screen with a 24" monitor in my face already? The screen is adjustable moving it forward or backwards to the angle you want.

Cons: Screen issues! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't!!! Right now it's not working. Really, what's laughable is the software is saying No devices detected and to make sure it's firmly attached to a USB port, and yet my wireless mouse dongle is plugged into the pack of the keyboard in one of the 2 USB ports it has. Yet my mouse works just fine!!! How could my mouse work and yet the keyboard doesn't??? The issue has been getting worse and worse and right now it's not looking good. I just moved this keyboard to my new FAST PC and I was hoping maybe it was some type of software issue, but the problems continue!!!

Other Thoughts: It's a great keyboard when it's working, but it's also flaky at times. I've had this one for a few years. It's not a cheap keyboard and so I expected better!!! Even now the Volume control works just fine, same with the keyboard and whatnot, but the screen is playing dead right now and the software is telling me to plug it into the USB port. I just don't get it!!!

1 out of 5 eggsLousy customer service

Pros: Looks great while it works

Cons: Logitech has the worst customer service for warranty support I have ever experienced. It seems it is all handled by a call center in India by non Logitech employees who have to get approval for any RMA and cannot do any type of advanced exchange. You have to ship the defective keyboard to them and after the test it they will ship you a replacement in 10-14 days.

So how many of you want to be without your keyboard for a few weeks

Buy another companies product and save yourself the warranty nightmare

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome Keyboard!

Pros: I love everything about this keyboard with some minor setbacks which i will mention in the cons. The buttons are very squishy and almost a joy to actually type on it. The fact it has 36 programmable keys on it is quite handy for those that like macro's. I really liked the volume bar, instead of pressing buttons to adjust volume. The LCD screen is amazing and if you google hard enough there are several programs that make use of it.

Cons: The biggest complaint i have about the keyboard is the lag of the LCD screen, and i heard depending on your setup will depend on how laggy it might be for you. I can't watch youtube videos on it because the framerate is too horrible for me, however playing local videos are smooth. The volume bar can seriously lag depending on what i am doing, sometimes when watching a youtube video and i want to turn the volume down, it won't do anything at first then after about a couple seconds it will move finally and will go all the way down to 0%. It's just super lag at times and i think i gave it one egg too many, but there are other great things about it too.

Other Thoughts: If you have the money it is worth it, however from what i been reading around, you have a chance for the lcd to be laggy which is a big bummer considering the cost of this.
