3 out of 5 eggsImproved build quality, but still not perfect.

Pros: Miles ahead of the digital pad on the regular 360 controller. The unit as a whole is heavy, which makes it easy to set it down on a table and play with relative vigor without the unit shifting around; at the same time, it's not so heavy that you can't just set it on your lap. The turbo buttons are a godsend for some of the arcade games you could alternatively use this stick for. The unit was designed for dis-assembly and customization. You can swap out your buttons and joystick for higher-quality parts (as I did with the joystick in favor of one with an octogonal gate). Even though it voids your warranty to do this, if you use it extensively enough, you won't care about that. The start and back buttons on the side of the stick are a nice touch.

Cons: The square gate on the joystick. I hate it. I can't stand it. The American versions of these sticks should have come with octogonal gates by default. The stick and buttons feel good, but spending tons of time in the arcade in my youth, they don't feel quite right. It's not wireless (thanks Microsoft!). It only has 4 hats for movement, not 8 (thanks again Microsoft!). The bottom plate does not have screw holes to allow you to mount the stick to a surface like the TE stick does (you could always drill some out if you wanted too, but it requires taking off the rubber feet). It's more expensive then the HORI entry-level stick, which would also get the job done if you're not interested in customizing the stick.

Other Thoughts: The first batch of these joysticks had several quality control problems, which is why when the originals sold out, it took so long for MadCatz to provide a resupply. I bought a stick out of the second batch, and have used and abused this stick viciously without any reliability problems. Compared to the Hori EX2 stick, I find this unit to feel more solid, with a tighter stick and more responsive buttons; and being heavier makes it easier to use if you're not going to bolt it down. This is a solid choice for an arcade stick, and as good of an entry point as any if you're looking to find a stick to upgrade the parts in.

5 out of 5 eggssmooth sailing so far

Pros: So far its been 100% better then Xbox 360 controller was going to get a fight pad but retail store only had 2 of these and the 1 tournament didn't get it from the egg because I was wanted it now. so far so good if it holds up I say get it if you don't want to spend the extra my joystick is fine just took some getting use too. so 5 out of 5 eggs so far will give another review in a week. oh and its weight is nice in your lap.

Cons: um white... dirt will find this controller

Other Thoughts: makes street fighter a lot of fun and brings back the arcade days.

2 out of 5 eggsHorrible Stick

Pros: Works ok at first, has a great casing and the turbo feature is good.

Cons: Cheap joystick and buttons. Just do a quick search in google and you'll find all sorts of problems people have had with theirs. The joystick will eventually break down/stop responding and the buttons will stop reading inputs. 2 buttons on mine stopped responding after a couple of weeks of normal use.

Other Thoughts: This game pad is only worth it if you are REALLY causal with your fighting games and don't plan to use it that much, but for $80 you WANT a good product. Or if you plan to replace the buttons/joystick with third party parts. It may be cheaper to just shell out the money for the tournament edition one, which is a huge upgrade from this and has the parts that you would most likely use for replacements.

5 out of 5 eggsThis FIghtstick should be the first choice for anyone in need of a fantastic quality gamming device for SFIV

Pros: It works flawlessly and is reasonably priced. Just the fact that you can easily and cheaply mod this stick to the best arcade components in the world makes the over priced TE Fightstick obsolete.
With that said the stock parts really do the job and only would bother the extreamily nit-picky perfectionists with money to burn.

Cons: I did have the RT and LT buttons completly stop working for no reason only after a few hours of use, however instead of getting frantic and returning it I pluged it into a diferent usb port and now it works as new. Just a minor inconvinience that only happend to me once.

Other Thoughts: If you have even the slightlest interest in arcade gamming look no further.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: buttons are responsive. executing actions are better than the orig. xbox d-pad.

Cons: joystick sucks. especially when it involves a move using the down back command

Other Thoughts: overall. it's a neat joystick. if you have the extra cash to spend i probably recommend the T.E. edition. I hear that it's a massive upgrade from the standard edition

4 out of 5 eggsWORTH THE PURCHASE

Pros: BUTTONS FEEL GREAT.
RESPONDS TO ACTIONS BETTER THAN THE ORIG. XBOX CONTROLLER.

Cons: COULD USE A BETTER JOYSTICK

Other Thoughts: WORTH THE PURCHASE IF YOU ARE REALLY INTO FIGHTING GAMES. LIKE I SAID THE RESPONSES TO ACTIONS ARE WAY BETTER THAN A CONTROLLER. IT'S HELPS ONLINE BECAUSE MORE THAN LIKELY THEY ARE USING ONE TOO.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great so far, buttons not as active or reliable as they first were, but still pretty solid. Bought for the sole purpose of modding so that won't matter. Joystick is fine so far, plan on putting sanwa parts in it. Overall though the stick works great for sf4.

Cons: Buttons aren't as sensitive as when used originally, collector's box had a dent on it when it arrived but the actual package was ok. Nice Newegg... always had a great experience with em and this is no different, just kinda ocd on stuff like that.

Other Thoughts: Great service, great stick, buy to mod.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Quality

Pros: - Inside is very neat and organized
- Looks nice (if you like Street Fighter)

Cons: - Back button was dead on arrival
- Joystick diagonal down-right stopped working after a couple days, and down-left went out soon after

Other Thoughts: For this to break so fast, you'd guess it bargain-bin price, though it isn't. Only worth getting as a chassis for Sanwa parts.

1 out of 5 eggsInoperable out of the box

Pros: Solid feel/weight. It's a very nice size for lap play.

Cons: The stick was broken out of the box -- all four buttons on the bottom row would completely fail at random. Punch buttons would register as kicks. I used it for thirty minutes and then shipped it back to Newegg because it was unusable and it would take 3-4 weeks to get it fixed by Madcatz.

Other Thoughts: Madcatz has not changed. They're still making products that are prone to breaking. It's just that now they cost alot more than they used to.

3 out of 5 eggsPoor quality Arcade Parts

Pros: It is a nice case if you are willing to Replace all of the parts. Great for modification. If you can upgrade your PC then you can upgrade this arcade stick. Good deal if you are looking for a arcade stick case and xbox 360 PCB.

Cons: Out of the box with my first one, the joystick broke, would not return to center. Returned it to the store and luckily they had another one. This time the joystick was okay but then the buttons started to fail. The A button went first then RT and RB. Default parts are junk. Buttons even fell apart when I removed them to use Sanwas.

Other Thoughts: I would buy this and order Sanwa/Seimitsu Parts when the joystick breaks down.
