It has been over ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President's side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world's population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.

In a first for the franchise, Resident Evil 6 sees series favorites Leon and Chris come together to face this unprecedented threat. They will be joined by new characters, each with their own unique perspective and involvement, in this relentless dramatic horror experience enacted on a global scale.

  • newegg A New Challenge - Confront the results of the C-virus in all its varied and deadly forms Zombies make a return to the Resident Evil series, but can now run, jump at players and even use weapons, making them far more challenging than in previous games. The enemy creatures known as J'avo first came to prominence in the conflict zone of Eastern Europe and have the ability to regenerate when injured; furthermore, if J'avo take substantial damage to a particular area they can mutate the affected body part into a variety of different forms, meaning players will have to rethink their strategy and adapt to this unpredictability. The C-virus has also given rise to the Chrysalide, which take the mutation process even further as they undergo a full metamorphosis; spawning a whole host of horrific creatures.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Graphics are great, story line is decent, and the game-play follows previous Resident Evil games.

Cons: I've played all of the Resident Evil games, and this one does not live up to the reputation of the other versions. The graphics are well done, but there is too much 'one button' interaction when the games cuts into the dialogue of the story.

2 out of 5 eggsehh

Pros: The graphics are very well done everything was designed and textured extremely well. The campaigns took a very long time to complete which gives you more bang for the $60 you had to pay to get this game when it came out. Your AI partner is handy if you run out of ammo cause they have unlimited ammo and health which was really annoying in the last RE cause my partner would die through no fault of my own.

Cons: Your partner is pretty dumb sometimes by shooting an enemy all the way across the map, but not the one right in front of you for example. The skill purchase system was a good idea, but the that were the best made buying anything else really unnecessary. Also the biggest con was that it seems they didn't play-test the game at all. When I first got it I played Leon's campaign first and the whole game was full of bugs (enemies didn't spawn, didn't fall down when they died, would be out of ammo and couldn't pick up ammo cause it said I had full ammo, would get killed from one hit despite being at full health just to name a few). One of the levels in particular looked like they just never got around to putting in any textures or colors for that matter in Jake's campaign. If they would have playtested the game at all these cons would probably never been on this review, but they didn't so here they are.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this, this is a rental for sure

3 out of 5 eggsGreat gameplay - Horrible Camera Movement

Pros: Four amazing campaigns connect in the end for a compelling story line. However, the boss fights are not as impressive as they were in Resident Evil 5. Do not expect a high replay value with this one.

Cons: The worst part is the awkward camera movement throughout the game; you may be shooting an enemy at one angle and then the camera shift as another enemy melees you up close.

Other Thoughts: Capcom had a lot of time to make this a great game; however, the game falls short of its predacessor Resident Evil 5 on all levels. This is definitely a rental at best.

4 out of 5 eggsNot as bad as people make it out to be

Pros: -Visually pleasing (both graphics and female character's bums)

-Good story, especially if you have been following RE in the past decade and a half)

-Lengthy, so it'll keep you busy (about 1-1.5 hours each chapter=about 7 hours for each campaign)

-CO-OP (playing this game with a good friend makes this game more fun by ALOT--it's meant to be played this way)

Cons: -I had trouble maneuvering, esp. during the dashing quick time events. I swear I would be holding the thumb stick perfecting up or down and it would swerve to the left or right, causing me to die.

-PLAY WITH A FRIEND FOR CO-OP. THE PARTNER AI IS RE-TARDED. (At least they never die though)

-I feel like this game has been wasted on console platforms rather than PC. The game is at 720p upscaled to 1080p. At best it runs
at 30FPS (60FPS is visually optimal and there is a big difference)

Other Thoughts: -This game requires adaptation to controls and skill. I believe the reason why this game got such horrible reviews is because reviewers/critics sucked at adapting and skill.

-Helena and Sherry have great bums and Ada is sexy.

3 out of 5 eggsFun sometimes but, not all the time

Pros: Three campaigns with 5 chapters each and each chpter ranges from 30 min to an hour and a half!
Leons campaing is pretty fun!
Mercanaries mode

Cons: most chapters are boring and then fun at time to the point where its so inconsistent.
Not fun alone so dont play it solo
AI is ok but, some things are never good just not as bad as others.
Even though this was supposed to make you feel very in control of your charater ie very agile, it falls short and just feels plain clunky.

Other Thoughts: I love RE but w/o any friends to play coop with I can't recommend this game to anyone who isn't a hardcore RE fan.

2 out of 5 eggsIrritating

Pros: Nice visuals and good looking environments.

Cons: The least fun games I've played in a while. The game is riddled with quick time events and you will die a lot because of these. Inventory is a downgrade from re5 and the controls are somewhat odd. Lots of environments filled with nothing and enemies that don't react very much to weaponry, especially bosses.

3 out of 5 eggsMore Of The Same, For Better or Worse

Pros: Being a fan of typical RE titles from both the PC and the Xbox formats, I've been looking forward to this one for some time. It's not great -- after only about an hour or two -- but the graphics and the gameplay are tight and the flow is relatively smooth. In addition, the story and the action/cinematography is fun, fast and addictive. Also the tension level is high enough to make the game both fast and a bit nerve-wracking, which is the entire point of the Resident Evil franchise.

Cons: Two main problems plague this title for me and virtually guarantee that once it's done it will stay in the game binder for good: the controls feel very random (hit this, press that, wiggle the stick around and then press this quickly!) and the combat sequences seem a little weak. The graphics of zombies closing in around you feels incredibly claustrophobic, but using karate when there are knives, axes and bottles around seems sort of ridiculous. Someone should take some of this game's close-quarter combat scenes and intersplice them with Led Zeppelin's "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" and call it "The Zombie Stomp" -- might sell really well. It's as if Dead Space called and said "Hey, we have a nifty idea as to how you can deal with a new zombie attack motif." Works, but at the same time you'd think there are other quiet (eg non-zombie-attracting) ways to get zombies to die.

Other Thoughts: Overall, a fun title -- now that Dishonored, Black Ops II and other major titles are starting to appear (not to mention Crysis III) glad to see they released this. It's definitely a peculiar and strange control system that takes some significant learning curve time, but once you're there it's entertaining and worthwhile. Not phenomenal, but the graphics are great and the game is definitely entertaining. Worth $60? No, but worth $40 for sure.
