Mario Blasts Off for another Out-of-This-World Adventure In 2007, Super Mario Galaxy took the world of video games by storm. Now this first true Mario sequel in years re-energizes the franchise with new levels and new power-ups. Plus this time Mario gets to team up with his dinosaur buddy Yoshi, who adds new possibilities to the gravity-defying game play. It's everything you love about the first game and more. Super Mario Galaxy 2 features: Mario collects stars as he travels from galaxy to galaxy. Every level is new, but the game retains the charm, sense of wonder and beauty in line with Mario's history. Mario works his way through the various levels, sometimes upside-down, sometimes floating from place to place. On some stages, Mario can find an egg, smash it open and hop onto the back of Yoshi. Yoshi can use his tongue to grab items and shoot them back at enemies, or to snag attach points and swing across chasms. Yoshi has an interesting diet. When he eats a Dash Pepper, he gets so hot and frenzied he can run up steep inclines and vertical walls. When he eats a Blimp Fruit, he inflates like a balloon and floats to new heights. New power-ups include a drill that Mario uses to tunnel through the planet's surface all the way to the other side of a planet. Skilled players will want to collect new Comet Metals, which will unlock harder levels with even more challenges.

5 out of 5 eggsBest game for the Nintendo Wii yet

Pros: Fantastic Level designs. The fun platforming elements of the Super Mario games are presented very well. Excellent soundtrack. Excellent Graphics and art design for the Nintendo Wii.

Cons: None whatsoever!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Followup to a Fun Game

Pros: This game has more of the fun platforming gameplay that you'd expect from a Mario game. I also like the new map style navigation that is similar to the New Super Mario Brothers games. They also made it so the second player can be more useful. And let us not forget YOSHI!!!

Cons: Might be a little hard for the youngsters or those with less dexterous fingers.

Other Thoughts: It is amazing how much variety there is from level to level.

4 out of 5 eggsBetter, but still the same

Pros: If you like Mario, you will like this game. If you liked Mario Galaxy 1, you'll love 2. It's basically the same game except it's much better. The controls are smoother, the game is more polished, but it's still designed as a kiddy game. Some of it is pretty tough, but so far I haven't gotten to a level that was so frustrating I had to just walk away. Each level expects a few things from you: control, patience, and/or alert. The puzzles aren't by any means difficult, but some things require you to be observant to collect/unlock everything.

The game isn't as repetitive as the previous one, but how many different ways can you get a star?

Cons: Childish, sometimes slow, a little too easy although I'm only about halfway through the game so far.

Other Thoughts: It's definitely a game worth playing if you're a fan of the genre or series. For hardcore players, it's a little too easy.

5 out of 5 eggsDa da da du da DAH!

Pros: It plays great, is loads of fun. Great eye candy, sounds are just as appealing. Neat levels and all sorts of things to do. I'm not a big fan of moving the controller all over the place and with a wii, it's part of the package so I'll have to get use to it. I bought it for my nephew though and I enjoy watching him play more than I desire to pick up the controller myself.

Cons: He makes me use the second controller to help him freeze enemys? Okay, that is so not fun on my part!

Oh and there is some places where you gotta jump and shake the controller for the platform under you to switch so you can land on it. You gotta be careful if your nose itches. If you itch your nose, platform switches and you fall and die. That is so not cool!

Other Thoughts: Mario is like Gold. It doesn't decline much in value and sometimes it even goes up! Is it worth fifty bucks? Depends on how much you like Mario! I like him much better than lots of other stuff I see my nephew play!
