5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent sound quality. These headphones actually have (some) bass definition. If you're used to earbuds you'll be amazing at how much bass you've been missing. They're very comfortable and fit perfectly, making your music seem loud even if it's turned down. They totally block out sound; when I'm listening to music, even if it's turned way down, I can't hear someone shouting my name in the same car. If you need to block out sound, like a loud roommate or someone else's annoying music, canal headphones are exactly what you want.

Cons: It feels kind of weird at first to stick headphones inside your ears. Also the "sound" of in-ear headphones is a little different. Lots of audiophiles will pay extra for circumaurals because in-ears sound unnaturally loud and don't have much bass definition.

Other Thoughts: My pair actually survived a spin cycle in the wash and they still sound great.

5 out of 5 eggsPleased with headphones

Pros: The headphones muffle noise when no music is playing, and almost completely cancel it out when music is. I've had them since January 2008, I've found them to be very durable.

Cons: The top part of the jack is about an inch long and not very flexible. I felt ambivalent about the sound quality at first, but it has grown on me. (Mostly because this was a big jump from the cheap headphones I used to buy.)

Other Thoughts: I practically live with my iPod on, and I am very rough with my headphones. So far, they have outlasted my previous brand of headphones by several months. I think that they would have a longer life if the top part of the jack was much shorter.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent sound quality for an canal type earphones.
Very durable. the cord has been snagged several times on things with no apparent damage.
Very comfortable in the ear. I've tried several different types of earphones and had trouble finding some that I could wear for extended periods of times. I can wear these all day at work with no problems

Cons: The cord is a bit stiff and rubbery feeling but I think that helps with the durability.

2 out of 5 eggsDitto on the 1 star guy

Pros: Great sound, it had a great full bass and good clarity of sound

Cons: Terrible build. They broke after a little over a month and I didn't expose them to any kind of extreme treatment. I walked with my Mp3 player in my pocket, nothing more.

Other Thoughts: As typical of the Sennheiser brand the sound is great, but you have to be careful with how you treat them. They break real easily.

4 out of 5 eggsCX55 iPhone compatiblity.

Pros: Out of the box, the CX55s don't fit the iPhone's unusual (due to it's deep recess) headphone socket. You can make the CX55s fit, though, with about two minutes of modifying.

Cons: It's a little hard to describe, but the headphone plug on the CX55s in encased in a somewhat-flexible rubber boot. I found a sharp pair of scissors, wedged them in to the boot and made a small (2.55mm) incision in the boot.

Then, I was able to pull the boot back over itself (so I could cut more off, if I wanted to). Once I'd pulled the boot off, the plug fit into the iPhone properly.

Other Thoughts: They sound great to me, though I'm no audiophile. They must be pretty sensitive, as my iPhone can drive them pretty loud! The bass is excellent, perhaps the best I've heard in an earbud.

4 out of 5 eggsNot to bad

Pros: They pack bass, have a good cord length, have an overall clear sound, they do block out sound when turned up, but i doesn't take a lot of volume to make them loud, and seem to be made well.

Cons: The rubber on the cord snags to everything, may be uncomfortable when worn with a beanie, has to be placed in ear correctly to get optimal sound.

Other Thoughts: These are my fifth pair of in ear headphones. I've used the Koss spark plugs the Sony 71's, the Sony 81's, and the Shure E2c's. theses Sennheisers pack alot of bass if you fit them in your ear correctly, compared to the shures they have more bass but dont have the clarity or the evenness the shures have. Plus the shure wrap around your ear which stops snagging. They are worth the $50.00

4 out of 5 eggslow base, good fitting

Pros: Cancels surrounding noise pretty well. Good for loud trains/buses.

Cons: Sound quality doesn't seem very good to me. Not very much base. I liked the sound of my Koss Plug better.

Other Thoughts: I hope for that price they will last a while. All cheap ear phones I had (about 7) broke after a few months the latest. The Koss mentioned above was chewed up by the cat, so that doesn't count.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very good for long flights. Most of the engine noise is inaudible with these on.

Cons: These earphones already broke. In addition to the loud annoying sounds made when any part of the wire is tapped, the end of the wire which plugs into your mp3 player/computer is not glued onto the little cover which they put over it, making something that should be rigid very flexible. The wire which this protects subsequently breaks very easily, and for me it broke after 5 days walking around in my pocket. I love sennheiser products but this pair of earphones is definitely a scam.

Other Thoughts: The carrying pouch is cool.
