When Ryan Cooper gave up illegal racing, he didn't give up racing entirely. When he drives into a Race Day in his black Nissan 240SX and dominates the competition, he comes to the attention of the current leaders – he finds that the competition can be a lot less friendly than on the streets. Need for Speed: ProStreet, the 11th title in this popular, long-running franchise, puts you behind the wheel of 55 customizable cars – including 8 supercars from 26 different manufacturers. The vehicles and their surroundings are rendered photorealistically with next-gen shading and lighting effects.

Use the Autosculpt feature to modify the bumper, hood, roof scoop, and spoiler to improve the handling of your car. Add wide body kits and change wheels for additional cosmetic and performance benefits. Refine your changes using the new Windtunnel. Once you've tuned your vehicle, take on the competition in open-road and closed circuit track racing that'll have you tearing along the A100 Berlin ring road, the abandoned Meigs Field Airport in Chicago, NASCAR's Texas World Speedway and the Tokyo Docklands among others. Online play lets you race simultaneously or challenge others to beat your score on the leaderboard. Share your winning designs online via "blueprints."

ProStreet brings realistic handling – and realistic damage. Struck objects can merely scuff the paint, rip off a bumper or total your ride. Run the quarter mile in drag races, race the clock through checkpoints, leave the pack behind in grip racing or slide around curves in the improved drift races – all to the driving beat of the 34 international songs that make up the soundtrack. Will you be smoking the competition, or will you be a smoking wreck?

1 out of 5 eggsWhy Oh Why did you make this EA!?

Pros: It is an attempt to continue the franchise; the racing is sort of realistic...

Cons: That is honestly where the pros ends...

NFS Carbon was EA's last real NFS game. Admittedly it didn't have a good story line, but what racing game does? This one doesn't even try to have a story line, which sort of makes it drab. The gameplay is more realistic in comparison to any previous NFS game I have ever played. The worst part about this though, is that it still isn't realistic! Why try to make a game realistic if your not going to actually make it realistic? Finally, which i find the worst of all, the graphics aren't even noticeably better then Carbon (the franchise's previous installment). Usually they make it better or make it different... but its basically Carbon without the police, the nighttime, the attempted storyline, the ridiculous racing physics, and most of all... the FUN!

Hopefully the next installments after undercover will be far better, as this is a dissapointment... and undercover didn't get good reviews.

Other Thoughts: EA effectively killed the franchise for me from that point on. I used to go and buy the next one without even waiting for reviews, but after prostreet... I just cannot do it anymore.

The only ones i am looking forward to is World Online and Nitro. World online being one of the few MMORG's and Nitro continuing Carbon's fantastically interesting style and gameplay.

3 out of 5 eggsNFS

Pros: Graphics are really good and the feel of the cars is very nice. new R35

Cons: What killed this game for me was no free roam What the F!?! Might as well just go back and buy Most Wanted. Announcer guy in the game is so annoying so i muted his volume. You also have to pick a certain type of race for each car which is ridiculous, so if you have a car set up for drag race you can only use it in a drag races, unless you buy another car.

Other Thoughts: I would recommended to buy this but not for $60 maybe when its 30 or 40, but no free roam whats up with that.

4 out of 5 eggsPro Street is Different...

Pros: Great graphics! Awsome cars! Customizing your cars down to how long you want the lip on your body kit.

Cons: No Free Roam!! No city anything like the other Need for Speeds. Pro Street means Pro Street. It's all on a track, drifitng, drag races, regular races, and speed races. Like I said, its nothing like the others.

Other Thoughts: I'm not as into this Need for Speed as I was the older ones. Pro Street is for more serious racers.
