Obihai OBi202 VoIP Phone Adapter with Router - SIP, T.38 Fax Support

Use your existing corded or cordless phone(s) and your broadband Internet to make and receive calls over the Internet for FREE (or at a very low-cost).
Via the OBi202's two (2) on-board phone connections, you have the power make and receive phone calls using VoIP services for FREE or at a fraction of the cost a traditional phone company would charge. The OBi202 supports up to four (4) VoIP services like Google Voice, RingTo, Anveo, Phonepower, OneSuite or a multitude of SIP Internet phone services as well as calls to other OBi endpoints via Obihai's free OBiTALK network. The OBi202 also supports the T.38 fax standard for reliable facsimile calls over the Internet.

The OBi202 is equipped with a two-port router with integrated quality of service (QoS). The OBi202 may be installed in a variety of network environments and/or locations where upstream voice traffic needs to be prioritized above other types of traffic like web surfing and uploading pictures and movies.

The OBi202 USB port serves multiple purposes when used with Obihai USB accessory products. Using the OBiWiFi Wireless Adapter, the OBi202 can be placed anywhere within range of an 802.11b/g/n access point. The OBiBT Bluetooth wireless adapter allows a USB-equipped OBi device to pair with a mobile phone so you can place calls and answer calls using any standard home phones connected to the OBi. The OBiBT works with most mobile phones using Bluetooth wireless technology. The OBiLINE adapter allows a USB-equipped OBi device to make calls to a Land-Line Service from Phones Connected to the OBi.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst impressions

Pros: Easy setup (Google Voice + OBI202).
QOS better than TWC digital voice.
It's free!! (except for paying $1.25/month for E911 and buying the OBI hardware).

Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: clear voice, doe not generate heat from the device. perfect replacement for land phone saving hundreds of dollars

Cons: it cut off about every 3-4min when I made phone calls to China on New Year eve. possibly there were too many phone calls at that time

3 out of 5 eggsNo MWI on GV

Pros: Obi quality is great

Cons: No Message Waiting Indicator on GV with latest firmware, can be a showstopper for some.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Device - Obihai OBi202

Pros: Two LAN Ports. Good if you plan to use it with two sets of telephones or with Telephone + Fax.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Its price is still too high compared to Obi200, which was around $30 during promotional discounts. I don't need it so I returned it and purchased Obi200 instead.

5 out of 5 eggsOBIHAI!!!!!

Pros: I had the single line version of the these for a short time a while back but ditched it when no more google voice.

Then as soon as I found out google voice is now officially supported I picked up the dual line model.

This paired with GV is the best FREE setup I've used. Good call quality, and multipage faxes work fine.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: I've tried some other services on a linksys pap2t which I could get good call quality on but it was always problems trying to fax more than one page in either direction.

With the Obihai, no problems so far.

5 out of 5 eggsmines been great

Pros: GV's been working fine, I saw a note from Obihai that google is extending the XMblahblahblah that makes the Obihai work over GV so that's a good thing. I also have on my 202 and it works fine. I even added the e911 from and everything seems to be working just great. I haven't tried a fax yet and from what I have read, it still is a 50/50 chnace it will work. It is a bit of a climb on the learning curve with both the Obihai and VoIP service providers but I think it's worth it.

Cons: takes some reading and searching on google to make sure you get all the "switches" set right

4 out of 5 eggsObihai supported by Google Voice now

Pros: Works well. Dumped phone service and modem rental to save money 2 years ago. This has worked flawlessly. I now have 2 phone lines instead of 1. One rings all the phones in my house the other is in my office for a dedicated fax line. Probably saved $1300 dollars over 2 year time frame

Cons: Does not work if your power goes out like POTS phone service. You must pay a separate provider for 911 service $2 to $5 per month if you want or need it. Unit supports to seperate lines and up to 4 providers though.

Other Thoughts: Wish I had more time to learn about this device. To many features to list.

5 out of 5 eggsObihai excellent

Pros: This is my 4th OBI unit 1-100 2-110 and this the 202 all I can saw awesome. I have referred to many friends as well. Great product and OBI give very good e-mail support if needed. Call quality excellent and you can pick the unit up and as long as you have a internet connecting just plug in and it will work anywhere. The features as amazing. All you need is a service provider with OBI give recommendation for free and paid ones. I use both free=Google voice as well as paid which I use Phonepower again Excellent they only charge $60.00 for a full year unlimited service and if you need support Phonepower offer call free support what else can anyone ask for. Why paid cable or other company for the low side $25.00 a month to $60 month, when you can get the same quality for free to $60 a year. GREAT

Cons: May need little tech knowledge I stress the word may. most will need very little if any.

Other Thoughts: Up in running 15 to 30 minutes

Just want to say Thank you for a great product.

1 out of 5 eggsNewegg and ObiTalk Stinks

Pros: None - first time I can't even give Newegg props...

Cons: I bought this back in September, 2013 to replace a for pay VOIP system. Knowing the GV was free. Newegg nor Obi listed that GV was ending support THEY have known since May15, 2014!! May for pay VOIP is up, I plug in the ObiTalk...I get GV for 1 month...

And now I can't even return it...loyal Newegg customer for over a decade...almost the beginning.

Other Thoughts: I guess it's my fault for not checking it out more completely. I just figured Newegg would protect it's customers a little better!

They are still selling all the ObiHai devices and what makes them attractive ends in a month...go figure!

1 out of 5 eggsNo reason to buy this device

Pros: None

Cons: Overheats after 1 year.
End Of free calling with Google voice.
SIP providers charging $20 to $30 a month for service.

Other Thoughts: The device is quirky and the calls are dropped when it heats up. SIP Service providers charge more then Ooma and Majickjack making this the worst deal after the 5/15 cutoff of Google voice service. Even my cable company charges $15 dollars for unlimted calling and that is premium voip as cable controls my internet and phone. No excuses to be made like getting service from a third party SIP providers blame network connections on bad call quality. After seeing this run don't walk away from this device.
