Apple’s iPod has revolutionized the way we buy and listen to music. You don’t have to buy the whole album just to get the songs you really wanted. Listening to an iPod is like having a commercial-free radio station that only plays the songs you choose…and they always take your requests! With the video iPods, like the Classic, you get the same choices with your favorite TV shows, movies, and podcasts. Whether you purchase programming from the iTunes store (just $1.99 per episode for TV programs!) or record it through your computer, it’s all right there in your pocket.
The iPod Classic’s slick click-wheel lets you navigate quickly to any of your photos, video, music, e-books, iPod games, calendar events, and contact database. The durable, touch-sensitive surface responds to your every whim, and gives you total control of the experience. Whatever you’re trying to find from your collection, iPod makes it easy to get just what you want.
The iPod Classic’s high-gloss screen gives you a brilliant viewing experience, so you’ll see every detail, even in a brightly-lit room. With its built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery, the iPod Classic gives you up to 36 hours of music playback, or 6 hours of video-viewing on a single charge. All your favorite media, right in your pocket, and you’re in total control: that’s iPod!
Best on market... not saying much
Pros: This is the highest capacity MP3 player followed by the Zune which has a 120GB limit. The battery life is great while listening to music. The thing just doesn't seem to die. I dislike iTunes but the iPod is compatible with MediaMonkey, my preferred media player.
Cons: My unit died just four days after the warranty ran out. (Lucky me) The hard drive became corrupted beyond repair and it will cost me around $110 for a new hard drive which I will have to replace myself.
Other Thoughts: I used my iPod solely for music and as an extra flash drive so I don't have any comments about video playback. This is the only 160GB mp3 player but if you can deal with only having 120GB I suggest purchasing a Zune instead.

Pros: Sleek clean finish, simple black finish adds a spice of quality to this product. Tons of space, I have had it for over 2 years and its only half full with about 3000 songs and about 35 hours of video. Good solid build, though i have only dropped it once or twice it has never broken, and it has become wet on a few occasions and new stops working. The screen quality is very good for watching movies and looking through cover art..
Cons: Silver back is annoying, i purchased a silicon case to protect the body yet the shiny back seems to still become scratched and worn. The click wheel is occasionally unresponsive and causes you to have to apply more pressure or back out and renter the menu.
Other Thoughts: Screen protectors are a must have for this product, i had it for 2 weeks and the screen became deeply scratched in a couple of areas, after some washing and a new screen protector it was fine. i also recommend the silicon case for this ipod if you do drop it it is another measure of protection. Treat this device with a bit of care and it can last forever and allow thousands of hours of listing and watching.
