3 out of 5 eggsWhy so expensive???

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Silver (7th Gen)

Pros: 16 gb storage. New headphones sound very good, but last about as long as the old ones. A month tops. It gets a 3 only because the sound is good and battery life is outstanding. I ran it on a test for 14 hours and it still had 1/2 of the battery left.

Cons: Where to start? They have changed the charging cable from the easy to use and standardized old version to the "lightning" cable. Soooooo, every device you have now is rendered useless. Oh, but they do sell an adapter to turn the old cable into a lightning cable. $40!!!! And it doesn't work to sync anything. So the 3 docks and the built in car adapter now do not work. When I tried the $40 adapter, it syncs for 2 songs, then stops. Other companies have knock off lightning cables but they only charge. I think Apple has the audio syncing patented to prevent anyone from making a stupid situation tolerable.

Other Thoughts: Once other companies come up with decently priced, usable cables it will be decent. But the lightning adapter is the "new recipe coke" of our generation.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Silver (7th Gen)

Pros: Quality created product. Have had no problems with it whatsoever. The new earbuds are extremely comfortable.

Cons: Kind of annoying to buy the Lightning to 30-pin adapters for my existing hardware.

Other Thoughts: The only reason this got 4 eggs was for the Lightning cable instead of the old 30-pin. Other than that I've really enjoyed using this product.

1 out of 5 eggsLast Apple Product - I'm Done

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Silver (7th Gen)

Pros: It has the potential to be a really cool little MP3 player. Scrolls through album covers, and 16 gigs is a lot of tunes. When you grow out of the infantile Apple world, you'll discover what a giant rip off their products really are, and how poor their support and warranties are.

Cons: No wonder they are the richest company of earth - they make their products in abuse factories in China, and jack up the price here to obscene levels. Their customer care and tech support is terrible - they can barely answer the phone in under half an hour. Mine was defective, and after hours with tech support, I brought it back to the store.

Other Thoughts: Customer Care and Tech support didn't know Apple's return policy. I don't believe that, I think they want to avoid encouraging any returns. The sheer greed of this strategy is staggering, but then they are paying lawyers to sue every other tech company (especially Samsung, without whom they couldn't survive).
