1 out of 5 eggsShipping horrible

This review is from: D-Link DCS-932L Cloud Wireless IP Camera, 640x480 Resolution, Night Vision, mydlink enabled

Pros: Easy to set up

Cons: Poor quality image, sound horrible and shipping service is really horrible, need to go pick it up at the delivery service point.

Other Thoughts: Im not sure to buy with newegg again...

Manufacturer Response:

We want to thank your the comments as we appreciate the input. Please note that you can adjust the quality of the video by logging into the camera's settings and selecting "Video" on the "Setup" tab. You will be able to change the resolution and FPS to fit your optimal needs. Refer to page 29 of the user manual for more detailed information. Regarding the issue of shipping, to maintain relevancy, please consider removing or updating the review as the issue you experienced pertains to NewEgg and not our product. If you ever encounter any difficulties with the product we suggest you contact D-Link technical support at www.support.dlink.com. An agent will be glad to assist you with any problems. In addition, through the website you will be able to access firmware upgrades, tutorials, and FAQ's. We thank you for choosing D-Link.

4 out of 5 eggsAverage at best

This review is from: D-Link DCS-932L Cloud Wireless IP Camera, 640x480 Resolution, Night Vision, mydlink enabled

Pros: Clear picture, East to place, good price. Audio is good enough.

Cons: Nearly impossible to make work if you're not tech savvy. Mine would not work until I realized my 2.4gz phone system was interferring. Once I turned that off the were fine. And yes, I plugged in the phone system again and they work together. Very poor in love light. Switches to night mode too soon.

Other Thoughts: Overall, not bad.

1 out of 5 eggsWay Too Many Updates!!

This review is from: D-Link DCS-932L Cloud Wireless IP Camera, 640x480 Resolution, Night Vision, mydlink enabled

Pros: Shows a color video - for a low price. That's about all this camera has going for it. But see the Cons below - they kill any benefit this camera offers..

Cons: Be prepared to do Java updates practically every day if you try to use this camera. It is ridiculous!!! I spend more time updating drivers than I do watching the camera. DLink wants too much personal information to even start using the device (none of which is any of their business, frankly).

Other Thoughts: We actually do NEED a webcam for a specific task. However, even though this one techinically works we're going to have to swap it out for another make/model that doesn't require CONSTANT re-jiggering of the software and Java. If you buy this camera, be prepared to update the drivers forever. There seems to be no end to it. Very disappointed here (after having put up with this for months). But FOUR updates in less than 36 hours is crazy and it's time to rip it out and go for something that is less of a headache. It's not dificult to update the Java, etc..., but why should one have to? Every now and then... Sure. But not several times in the course of a weekend. DLink - get your act together. Nice product - but you killed it with constant security updates (or whatever). NOTE: Camera may not connect UNLESS you do all those required updates. Hope you get the point: It's NOT WORTH IT.

Manufacturer Response:

We want to thank you for the feedback as we really do appreciate the comments and concerns. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the DCS-932L. Please note that the requirement of Java updates is to ensure that you are using the most secure version which reduces any potential security risks. In addition, we release firmware upgrades periodically to fix any issues with the product. We thank you for choosing D-Link.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good

This review is from: D-Link DCS-932L Cloud Wireless IP Camera, 640x480 Resolution, Night Vision, mydlink enabled

Pros: I like it, it does what it needs it has a fairly high resolution and update rate. Relatively easy to set up. Works for keeping and eye on my house while I'm away!

Cons: Night vision is lacking a little, it gets some nasty glare off of windows if your trying to watch outside through a window.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks good

This review is from: D-Link DCS-932L Cloud Wireless IP Camera, 640x480 Resolution, Night Vision, mydlink enabled

Pros: You get what you'd expect to for this money. Quality is average and is more for indoors use.

Cons: Packed with features you'd not use. At least I don't, good 1/2 of them.
Other con is that its bundle software may be good but only for DLinks. If you want central management software and you have various cameras by various makers like me, you gonna have to look for something else. Luckily, in xeoma the Dlinks work fine and are auto detected. Pretty much like the native software.

Other Thoughts: My Dlinks of the previous gen were of higher res but they soon got buggy - h.264 streaming would suddenly stop and there was nothing helpful but reset. So far, no such problems with this model, however.

2 out of 5 eggsCustomer noservice with Cloud

This review is from: D-Link DCS-932L Cloud Wireless IP Camera, 640x480 Resolution, Night Vision, mydlink enabled

Pros: Clean picture, good range, works great on all versions of windows.

Cons: Don't be fooled with DLINK cloud. 3 out of 5 cameras show up on cloud for outside access. Emailed DLINK with no response, reinstalled cams several times, no cloud. Don't understand how such a great camera has no customer service support.

Other Thoughts: Bought 6 of these and mounted throughout home. Two refused to upload to cloud. When I tried to resolve the issue with DLINK I was ignored. Cannot access two cams online but I can see everything on my network. If I did it again, I would go with a manufacturer that actually has a cloud team that cares. Product is great, customer service is lacking, stay away from DLINK cams.

4 out of 5 eggsDlink Cloud Camera.

This review is from: D-Link DCS-932L Cloud Wireless IP Camera, 640x480 Resolution, Night Vision, mydlink enabled

Pros: Great Price. Works well for the price. Shipped fast. Really clear pics during the day.

Cons: Had to reset my router to get it to work. After 5 days of working to be able to see picture on line, Went on Internet to find the how to do it. after I never got a return email from Dlink. (reason for loss of star)

Other Thoughts: Dlink should get answers back to purchasers quicker. Support is a big reason that I buy Products.

5 out of 5 eggsEggcellent!

This review is from: D-Link DCS-932L Cloud Wireless IP Camera, 640x480 Resolution, Night Vision, mydlink enabled

Pros: All you ca expected from a ip camera. I get in on sale at 69,99$. I have install it and work right get out of the box. The pics produced by the cam is a litlle blur when the cam is on the night mode but you need to take in conisderation its a 640 x 480 px camera. I have configure it easy, so each segond the jpg is uploaded to my NAS. I reccomand to all.

Cons: None.

2 out of 5 eggsOne works, one doesn't

This review is from: D-Link DCS-932L Cloud Wireless IP Camera, 640x480 Resolution, Night Vision, mydlink enabled

Pros: The camera that works does an adequate job of showing the front of my house on my iPhone. It is easy to access and the picture is good enough. It is sitting 33 feet away from my router. so the wireless part works well.

Cons: The second one quit working after I moved it to it's location. I brought it back to within 3 feet of my router and it still did not work. The pedestal it sits on broke when I tried to loosen it so I could reposition the camera. That camera stand is fragile.

Other Thoughts: My life has been fairly busy, so I missed the 30 day return policy of NewEgg (from INVOICE DATE, not the received date), so I will send the non-working camera back to DLink.
