4 out of 5 eggsIt was cheap

Pros: Cheaper when I bought it.
Plays music.
The clip is pretty nice.

Cons: The interface is ugly.
Equalizer is pretty bad.
Seems like cheap plastic, however mine has lasted over a year, no known drops though.
Not worth $50.

Other Thoughts: Buy it refurbished or something, just don't pay $50 for it.

1 out of 5 eggsA very short life

Pros: Light, small footprint, support for micro SD card, good sound, great price.

Cons: Very cheap construction. I have had for less than two months and used less than 20 times, and the unit died. Can't power up.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps I just got a dud, but I am disappointed by the unit's quality.

1 out of 5 eggsdied after 7 months of moderate use

Pros: Worked great for the short time I had it. THe expandable memory was a nice addition as well.

Cons: I was walking around, when all of a sudden it just died. Nothing works to turn it on, and I just found it this device has a tendency to burn out after a few days to about 6 weeks or so. I do not recommend buying this, the craftsmanship is bad and honestly it's button layout and NOT 15 hours of battery life are a real pain.

I just ordered a Sansa Clip+. I heard people have better luck with that model, and it does practically all the same stuff this thing does, expect probably won't fry out on you.

Other Thoughts: It would have been nice for this thing to have worked longer than it did. I really did enjoy it, but I don't appreciate manufacturers not putting more thought into the design. Now I have to waste my time seeing if I can get it returned.

5 out of 5 eggsCant Beat it For The Price

Pros: Its cheap for 4 gigabytes of space. Has buttons instead of a touch screen which I like. Has a long battery life. Works great with Rhapsody.

Cons: It is plastic coated so dont expect it to withstand to many drops

Other Thoughts: Overall this is the most feature packed player on the market in this price range

5 out of 5 eggsA best buy

Pros: These little buggers have fantastic sound. Get good earphones and I bet you'll be as happy as I am. Rooted it with Rockbox, and now no matter how many songs I add (I inserted a 32Gb microcard), they are incorporated into the database in just a few seconds. Great at the gym; tiny thing clips to shorts or a shirt and you're good to go.

Cons: Don't think it can endure an elephant stepping on it. Or even a 30-pound kid, so don't buy it for its ability to take hard knocks. Stock operating system is very slow to digest the addition of new songs.

Other Thoughts: Had one for a few months and lost it at the gym. No question about getting another. Buy the 4Gb and spend the extra money on a microcard. And if you're a bit adventurous, root it with Rockbox. You'll have a great little mp3 player with terrific sound quality.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy this Player!

Pros: Very small and light. But not TOO small. Certain big name players are just a tiny touch screen and some people complain they are a pain to manipulate. The Clip Zip is small, but it still has real buttons so you can even manipulate them without looking at them.

SC Card slot. This is HUGE. Very few players on the market have his feature. It will hold up to a 32 GB micro SD card. So the base size of the player memory is irrelevant. You have 32 gigs to play with. And the music on the card is integrated directly into the play list options so you see songs and albums on the internal memory and card all at once.

Wide selection of file formats including MP3, WMA, and FLAC.

FM radio. Not a big deal these days but a nice addition.

If you go to the web site you can install a firmware upgrade. Do That. It will also install a nice little updater that lets you sync with various folders on your computer or create playlists directly on the player.

Cons: Has a problem with iTunes format songs. iTunes apparently does something unusual with how it tags certain songs and it causes the player to hang up. Once I deleted those songs it worked just fine. I think it has something to do with how they previously tagged DRM protected music. I had NO problems with anything using Windows formatted music.

Build quality is of course...light. It's a super thin, light, plastic shelled player. If you step on it or sit on it you're going to break it.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is the most feature packed player on the market in this price range. The SD card slot is easily the best feature. The price on these are dropping like a rock. I found a 32 GB card on a "daily special" for $24. I currently have 7500 songs on it and I've only used 18.5 GB. Or you could buy several smaller ones for a few bucks each and just keep different kinds of music on each one.

The bottom line is you should buy this player. It's a great player that could easily sell for a lot more money and still be worth the buy.
