3 out of 5 eggsOk antenna, garbage signal booster

Pros: It's inexpensive and receives excellent quality on the channels I can receive with it. (See other thoughts)

Cons: My only true con and the reason for knocking off 2 eggs is the 'inline signal booster'. Simply put, it's garbage. It does nothing to improve the signal of the channels I can receive, nor does it increase the channels I get. My TV shows the signal strength of the channels and a couple channels had worse signal strength with the booster.
Why take of 2 eggs for just that? Because this particular product costs roughly $15 dollars more (about twice as much) then if I had just purchased the antenna without the booster.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind the geography near where you live before buying this. Its a nice antenna when it can receive channels, but it's by no means powerful. If you have hills and/or mountains close to your house, you'll need something much more powerful than this. There's roughly 100 OTA channels available where I live, but can only get a select few with this antenna due to the interference from the hills nearby. That's something to keep in mind. I'll be returning this and unfortunately I will only be getting about half the price back after shipping.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well if...

Pros: Works well if placed in the right place. It managed to pickup about 60 local channels in my area and the signal was crystal clear.

Cons: It was only able to get 2 channels in the living room so I had to set it up on the roof using existing coaxial cables that was previously used for an old satellite dish. It's a bit extra work but was worth it. Placed the box in a clear ziplock bag and sealed it with water proof tape and hung it on my satellite dish.

Side not the package arrived with a dent/hole on the side. Luckily there was not damage to the product itself.

Other Thoughts: If you live in an urban area with a lot of buildings around you.. this item might not work that well unless you know for sure there is a local tv station near you. It will work best if you set it up in a high place clear of obstruction. Although you still might not pick up any channels if the tv station is out of range from your box.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Dirt cheap

Cons: Reception is VERY bad; only two stations... While one cause could be that I live in an appartment, I expected better than two stations. I live in a city of 100 000.

2 out of 5 eggsSturdy.

Pros: Sturdy construction.
Easy to set up
Instructions are basic and easy to follow.

Cons: Did not increase the number of channels I received.

The cable is heavier than the antenna, you'll need to keep that in mind or it will pull the antenna down.

Looked at the website in the instructions, oriented the antenna , even moved the T.v. to the optimal place for reception, and nothing. No new stations. I live in a mountainous area so that might have something to do with it.

Other Thoughts: I thought it would be a good buy, and indeed it may do good by some people that live in relatively flat lands or are within 100m of the broadcasting stations. I myself live in a mountain type of area and this did not get me any more channels than I had before.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: can lay flat or mount on a wall. not bulky like others and works like the rest.

Cons: does not give me cable or satellite channels, but i think that is expected.

Other Thoughts: highly recommend, very low profile especially when compared to rabbit ears, able to pick up all the local channels in my area with no signal loss.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Put, It Works.

Pros: - Inexpensive
- Works well
- Great for HDTV and FM

I "cut the cable" some time ago, since I do not watch much TV, with the many online options and services I simply don't see the point in paying the crazy high cable TV bills for only a few shows.

However, I still wanted access to local channels for news and weather, so I picked up this antenna from a local retailer.

I have stations both to the North and South of the rural area I live in. Roughly 40 miles to the North, and 35 to 80 miles to the south.

The antenna is mounted on the wall behind the TV, in my second floor modern apartment, using the signal amplifier. Out of sight.

I receive all of the stations from both the 40 miles North and 35 miles South locations with perfect clarity. No pixelation, no freezing, no poor signal quality issues at all. I also pick up a few of the stations from 80 mils to the South, and they also come in clear, only having issue during severe weather.

For the few local channels I wanted, including a 24/7 weather station, the antenna works flawlessly at the 40 mile range even in bad weather conditions.

I also use the antenna for FM reception via a splitter, every station in my area comes in crystal clear.

Cons: Very lightweight antenna, it can easily be pulled down by the coax if it's not properly mounted or otherwise held in place.

Other Thoughts: The bottom line is that it works, and it works well. If you're looking for a decent, inexpensive, antenna for both HDTV or FM reception, this RCA ANT1450B is a good option.

1 out of 5 eggsLow quality pickup

Pros: Once you get it working it can pick up HD-quality channels consistently if your signal strength is good.

Cons: Very difficult to setup. It took a lot of adjusting and toying.

I live on ground-floor, so maybe this was the problem but at first I could only pick up a few propaganda channels from China and RussiaToday propaganda.

However, after adjusting more and more, I finally had to hang a nail on my wall above my TV and tape it. At that height it starts picking up NBC local channel. That's all I get in metropolitan area.

I had to tape the amplifier to a candle, because there's no other way to get the signal for NBC stable.

It's the only real decent news source I can get.

This is not a replacement for Cable or Fiber optic connection.

This is really just for propaganda channels and local news channel if you can catch the signal.

Other Thoughts: It does its job if you can get a good signal and are not on a ground-floor. It does bring HD quality stably for your local channel if you find it.

Otherwise it is not a replacement for cable.
