Creatively eliminate your targets with the flexible combat system as you combine the numerous supernatural abilities, weapons and unusual gadgets at your disposal. Set in Dunwall, an industrial whaling city where strange technology and otherworldly mysticism coexist in the shadows. You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is being besieged by plague and ruled by an oppressive government armed with neo-industrial technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon your abilities beyond those of any common man - but at what cost? The truth behind your betrayal is as murky as the waters surrounding the city, and the life you once had is gone forever.

5 out of 5 eggsGift idea

Pros: Great game!

Cons: I think my brother ran into a glitch or two, but was able to overcome it after some time.

Other Thoughts: Gave it as a gift to my brother, seeing as I had already played it on PC and he is a console gamer. He loved it!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat game!

Pros: Great gameplay! A change from the first person shooter. I like the fact that I can decide the outcome of a game based on my decisions. Of course the mana is cool. Allowing the character to teleport! Very creative!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I can't say enough about this game. It reminds me of the books I read as a kid when you could decide the outcome based on your choices.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: iv been waiting for this game to come out since it was even whispered about. i lost track of it about a month or so ago when i got a my new job and started school so i didnt see any of its pre-release game play. at first i did think that the game was made by bethesda and was expecting the same graphics as skyrim or so. but they are still great.
gameplay is outstanding. the diverse way you can fight and sneak is amazing. the diffrent outcomes based on gameplay is wonderful and makes the player feel like he/she can really shape the world. the diffrent ways to complete your task meet the needs of almost any player.

Cons: i thought that they give to much information about the runes with the "heart". since the runes are used for upgrades it became a search mission a bit too offten and distracted me from the mission.

5 out of 5 eggsA Unique & Beautiful Game

Pros: Dishonored is a game that truly impresses me on every level. First and foremost, Dishonored is made by Arkane and not Bethesda, so don't go in expecting Elder Scrolls or Fallout. Arkane was created with a wealth of experience by the likes of Harvey Smith (System Shock, Deus Ex, Thief), Ricardo Bare (Deus Ex, Thief, Epic Mickey), Viktor Antonov (Half-Life 2), and the rest of Arkane (Arx Fatalis, Dark Messiah). As you can see, Dishonored was made by top tier talent, which is quite evident once you play the game.

Some Highlights:
Lovingly Crafted Environments
Very Atmospheric Setting
Deep & Rewarding Gamplay (Stealth or Action)
Great Combat
Beautiful Art Direction
Large Levels Perfect for Experimentation
Interesting Story & Characters
Good Music

Dishonored delivers in every single way. This game sets a new standard and will be looked upon fondly in the years to come.

Cons: Nothing.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing -- Myst meets Assassin's Creed

Pros: Haven't completed the campaign yet, but this title shows why gamers are willing to drop coin on titles that demonstrate well-thought-out, -researched and -designed titles. This is the best of a variety of games -- but Myst (the long-time puzzle adventure game) combined with aspects of Prototype and Assassin's Creed are its closest relatives. It's first- rather than third-person action, and it has great feel, graphics, and the storyline is intriguing. It has the visceral bite of Assassin's Creed but without the boredom, where you wish you were doing something else rather than "having fun with an Xbox game" ;-)

It also remind me a lot of a Steampunk version (albeit with less button-mashing and more logic) than the Batman Arkham Asylum/City titles. And I mean that as a huge compliment to Dishonored.

Overall this, behind the Modern Warfare/Battlefield stuff, is as highly recommended as it gets. Entertaining, great story, gameplay, action -- everything. A definite keeper.

Cons: I pre-ordered it without a Newegg discount code.

Other Thoughts: Heard nothing about this title until a few weeks ago. Glad it's had so little hype -- and hope it succeeds, as a result, solely on its merits, which are many.

Haven't really found any negatives, although with so many options and add-ons and choices it's bound to inspire lots of overwhelming reaction to those who've never played anything like this -- including me. However, I recall Prototype with similar myriad options that at first seemed overwhelming and wound up being fine once I was "into" the experience. Really solid, entertaining, worthwhile title. Hope there's more to come in this storyline -- will line up now for Dishonored 2: Electric Boogaloo ;-)
