4 out of 5 eggsWAP3502v2 Needs Latest Firmware Updates

Pros: I have had two of these working in the universal repeater mode and found they work a whole lot more smoothly at Firmware Version:V1.00(AAEX.3)C0 or later if one comes out after this current one. Setup is much easier now that I am at this version. Set your setup PC to a fixed IP of 192.168.1.3 and you can access the WAP at 192.168.1.2. Use the EaZY123 script up in right hand corner of admin screen to setup values. First fields are for the router information you are connecting to and second screen is for the SSID and password of the WAP.

Some have noted conflicts with the 192.168.1,2 IP address for the WAP but it does allow you to change that in the Configuration, LAN tab.

Cons: Some have noted conflicts with the 192.168.1,2 IP address for the WAP.

4 out of 5 eggsgood device, needs a bit more

Pros: works, have had zero problems with the device and really no need to push any ROM updates at all. covers a decent range; however, with all the stuff I have in my house and the walls, reach the back rooms get signal drops to half without the use of some fabricated parabolic antennas on the receivers

Cons: even though it supports 300Mbps, all the ports are 100Mbp Ethernet.. so if you plug it into a Gb switch or hub, the max your end points will get is... 100Mb (shared).. so yes, a slight under-sighted approach.

Other Thoughts: please consider adding 1000Mb support on the Ethernet ports for uplinks and bridging.

4 out of 5 eggsConfiguration can be troublesome but worth it.

Pros: Quality device.
Good customer support (once you get there)
Powerful wifi

Cons: Tough to initially configure based on poor documentation and default configuration that is likely to conflict with many PC networking cards.

Other Thoughts: The system has a default IP address of 192.168.1.2 which is likely to conflict with most home networks. IT it does, you won't be able to connect with anything. Before connecting it to a computer, make sure that your computer's IP has been initially set to 192.168.1.5 or higher. Best bet is to call their customer support 1-800-255-4101 option #5. The support is typically very good. Once you properly set this device up it works great.

1 out of 5 eggsIt doesn't worth the money

Pros: none

Cons: This is not a good extender at all. I've been using it for a week now I had to reset it several time. It lost the configuration without reason. Besides it doesn't extend the wireless more than the router I have. It doesn't worth the money

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Unit

Pros: New egg shipped right on time as always! Unpacked the device and plugged it in to my Zyzel USG 50 Firewall and could not figure out how to access the WAP. Picked up the phone and called Zyzel support and in 2 minutes George got on the line and in 10 minutes had me up and running.

This was my third time calling their support, twice for my USG 50 and then today. Never had to wait more than 5 minutes to talk to a tech and each time they we very patient and got me sorted right away.

The excellent support on the USG 50 was why I sought out this unit and bought it. Glad I did! Works great and looks real nice too.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Quick Start Guide could be better!

4 out of 5 eggsZyXEL WAP3205v2 Setup

Pros: After I finally was able to access the device it seems to broadcast a strong signal and is very reliable. I would buy again after learning the tricks.

Cons: Setup did not work for me as instructions indicated. I followed other's instructions changing a PC to fixed IP address of 192.168.1.3 and connected PC to WAP and setup this way. WAP is 192.168.1.2

5 out of 5 eggsAcess configuration

Pros: Easy to access even as a repeater. Many other brands leave you in a state you have to reset just to get back into setup. . It really sets up easy. Just a wireless router it's really just plug it in. Good through put. As a repeater speed test was as good as connecting directly to the router. That was also using speed test on the iphone too.

Cons: Granted for the novice user that may not know how to set a static IP address it might seem frustrating. You only need to know how to do that if you want to get back into the settings after it is setup to your network and change the IP address to something other than default.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat device, awful setup

Pros: Does the job and lots of functionality.

Cons: Awful setup. It took me 2 hours just to get into the access point because I could not connect using the default IP address it gives you. Then it took another 2 hours just to get it broadcasting because it kept disconnecting.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat AP

Pros: Using a few of these APs for a couple of month now, and I have not had any issues. Once set up, the APs are stable, fast, and simply do what they are supposed to.

These are also very flexible, you can set it up as AP, universal repeater, WDS, and client bridge.

Setup is pretty easy too, you can set it up manually or use their 'eaZy123' wizard and just click next a bunch of times if thats your thing. In the manual setup 'expert mode', there are a few pages of options, all standard stuff seen on pretty much every other AP out there.

Cons: I wish it supported VLAN tagging per BSSID

CON (which applies equally to any product)
-unqualified ppl leaving bad reviews due to their lack of knowledge and/or un-willingness to spend some time to try to understand.

Other Thoughts: the manual is like 200 pages, they really cover everything!! Even has a chapter with 'networking-101' info on general IP addressing and subnetting concepts.
