3 out of 5 eggsWorks well depending on the application

Pros: If it works for your application, it works well

Cons: Doesn't work on some networks (see thoughts below)?

Other Thoughts: No idea what's actually going on, but it would seem that it does not work on some networks. Strange, I know, but I used this on a PC to add another network port. It didn't work at first (device web interfaces would not load). I swapped it with the other network port, and it worked just fine on that network. No idea why, but beware of this flaw.

1 out of 5 eggsObsolete

Pros: Wouldn't know

Cons: Obsolete product. No drivers for current operating systems.

Other Thoughts: Only supports, Windows 2000, XP, Vista? So I need an outdated, unsupported operating system to use this product? No thank you. Big waste of my time and money shipping this to a client to solve a crisis. How embarrassing now to have to send them to Frye's to find something that will actually work

1 out of 5 eggsNo Windows 7 Driver?

Pros: None

Cons: No driver for Windows 7. Only 2000, XP, Vista

Other Thoughts: This device is useless unless you use outdated operating systems. A huge waste of my time and money. Why is it even for sale here? This should not be a current product.

5 out of 5 eggsset your MAC address

Pros: Adjustable MAC address

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: There are times when you just need to create an Ethernet port with a specific MAC address. This device lets you change the MAC address under properties

5 out of 5 eggsworks as advertised

Pros: provides a backup Ethernet port or replaces a broken one.

Also, this device allows you to change your MAC address. That can be very important if you break your primary port.

Cons: not 1000Mbps

3 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Does what it says.

Cons: I was hoping the protective cap was fixed in a way that I wouldn't loose it. Also device gets rather warm/almost host when running. I expect some heat but it seems to be warmer than I would expect.

Also, my fault for just not checking but fyi, no gig or usb3 support. Its ok for me but some other people might mind slowing there gig network to 100 mb/s

5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: My laptop's old ethernet port is busted, so I got this. I'm happy with it and would recommend it. It is very lightweight. The activity light is sufficiently informative. The protective cap works to shield both the USB male and RJ45 female ports. The drivers are easy to find, but they are not even needed (works out of the box with Win7 and Fedora17). Overall, it adds ethernet capacity to my old laptop without adding nuisances, like weight, noises, clunky dubious drivers, etc.

Cons: Protective cap is easily lost

Other Thoughts: Minor heating when under heavy use; cable is weak-ish (it wont take much to damage it).

5 out of 5 eggsNo Complaints

Pros: It's cheap, it works. Isn't complicated to install/set-up.

Cons: Doesn't make toast. (None)

Other Thoughts: Bought this and had it shipped to a technologically challenged relative (I'm my family/extended family's IT department). The relative is your stereotypical older family member who never was taught much more than the basics of some data entry when it comes to computers.
They got it and were able to install it without any help from me (long distance phone assistance is so often challenging).
Oh, if I remember correctly lightning had hit a power line/telecom line near their house and apparently damaged the built in ethernet port of their computer.
