1 out of 5 eggsDied in 6 months

Pros: Worked good while it lasted.

Cons: Purchased 2/26/14 $20.00 failed 9/7/14. Failed with no lights and a burning wire smell. .

Other Thoughts: Probably not worth the trouble to send it for warranty repair. They know that and count on it when they produce inferior products

1 out of 5 eggsWorthless

Pros: pretty

Cons: Worked twice now in the land fill. Have noe clue what happened. When it did work the rice stuck to the pan. Too much time passed and I had already pitched the shipping boxes--could not return.

1 out of 5 eggsthe worst rice cooker

Pros: no pros

Cons: It breaks the first time I use that. I throw that way directly. Nobody is gonna to buy a garbage. The plastic control button falls down after 20 minutes when I cook rice and then it totally doesn't work.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't last long

Pros: Worked sort of for a while

Cons: Following instructions for the rice cooker or instructions on the bag of rice, usually the rice got burnt on the bottom.

Today, after 3 months of pretty irregular use, it just stopped working. I plugged it in, no lights turned on; flipped the switch, nothin. The bowl felt a little warm after leaving it like that for a while, but basically the stupid thing died.

I paid $30 for it, and it's now on sale for $20. I'm pretty miffed to have effectively spent $10/mo for this appliance. What a piece of junk.

Other Thoughts: Don't put it on your counter unless you don't have cabinets; the steam will damage them.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Customer service

Pros: Low Price.

Cons: I bought this for 20$ from NewEgg, but it stopped working after 3 months. When I inquired Maxi-Matic, they asked me to return it and they will try to repair and if not possible, they will replace it with a new one. The whole process will take roughly a month. Also they will not pay for the return shipping.
It did not make sense for me for 2 reasons:
1. Why should I pay around 12-15$ for shipping of 20$ product for not my fault.
2. What should I use to cook rice till 1 month.

Poor customer service, Poor product quality. I do not recommend this to anyone..

1 out of 5 eggsUnhappy

Pros: It was simple to use.

Cons: Bulky, Poor rice containment, rice sticks to the inside. The interior coating peeled the very first time I used it. The rice was under cooked. I had a lot of high hopes for this but in the end I have an unusable bulky rice cooker. The interior lining peeling is a major defect that is common in cheap pots and pans and is extremely unhealthy. You aren't supposed to use the dish after that occurs. I do NOT recommend this. I suggest finding a stainless steel model instead.

Other Thoughts: Stainless steel is definitely the better way to go, and I would not recommend anything else.

1 out of 5 eggsBad design, or just defective

Pros: Looks nice; has a good rice spatula with a texture that helps prevent the rice from stickying. $40 is a little high for this item, but I got it on sale for $20, which is a great price!

Cons: 10 cups may be a little low for some people.
Water leaks out of the top steam exhaust.
Water never gets deposited on the small container on the side, which is meant for the excess boil-over water

Other Thoughts: My unit was defective (which may have caused the water issues mentioned above, too).

After about 5 uses, it started to smell like burned plastic.
After that, it would no longer turn on.
The shipping cost to RMA is about $20, which is how much I bought this item!
